Booked ahead as we were catching the ferry the next morning. Location is good for that, mall across the road offers grocery shopping, and that was a bonus. Room is OLD, but clean, and the water pressure almost rips the skin off ya, incredible !! Staff were friendly, and quick to change to English to accommodate our very poor French.... much appreciated. Website said breakfast was included, the check in staff informed us no when we inquired as to the location. Staff also indicated this is changing to a Travel Lodge in the fall. Elevator worked well, much appreciated, parking lot mostly gravel, the small patch that was paved was on too much of an angle to safely park the bike...
This is a cheap hotel. It does the job, nothing horrifying about it. Grocery store across the street. If you are looking for something more than a cheap place to stay, then pay up ($$) and stay at a more expensive place. The place was old but it was clean and suitable for our one-night stay.
This place is a dump there was garbage all over the lobby. The bathroom in the lobby was so gross I almost got sick. The staff are rude and lazy could not be bother to help you. If you book online the put you in their outdated room!
Visited this Hotel/Motel on Dec 9-10-11. This was a group reservation as he were 3 hockey teams from the same organization visiting their local teams (we were 120 including parents - 3 buses) The Good - They have the best location in Baie-Comeau. The grocery store, drug store, liquor store, restaurants, etc... is right there across the street. If you are traveling with a group, there is perfect parking for buses. Breakfast is served at your table. It is included in the price of the room, which consists of 2 eggs, one slice of bacon, one sausage, toasts, coffee and OJ. The Bad - Being from out of town, 3 teams, parents were looking forward to enjoy some time off and to have a drink or two at the bar. Unfortunately, the Hotel have lost their liquor license and had not communicated this information to us prior to our arrival ( I am guessing they knew we would of cancelled). The bar itself (the room for the bar) is very dingy with a décor set in the 70's with mirrors on the ceiling....I think you get the picture.... The rooms: in terms of Décor, that too is very 70's - damaged chairs and dressers BUT the beds were ALL very comfortable. Some rooms have newer carpeting while others had older carpeting. Every room came equipped with a small fridge (some were not working properly but most of them were) and some had a microwave. I guess you can say you get what you pay for. Overall we got a great price, beds were comfortable, location was great. If you are going there to play hockey or something like that, this place can be an option. If you are going there to relax and enjoy the hotel, then I would not recommend this place. Also, they definitely need to take a class on how to deliver good service. Don't expect much of the fitness center. Its a very small room.
Arrived at 1 pm from an early flight. Took cab from airport. Walked up to counter to check in and was told check in is at 3pm. I asked if a room was available and she repeated that check in is at 3 pm. Since I didn't have a car I had to sit for 2 hours and wait while I am sure there was at least one room free. I didn't see a single other hotel guest pass by from my seat in the lobby. Not a busy hotel at all. While waiting I had plenty of time to read the reviews and I am so disappointed I chose this hotel.
It's no air condition and no fan, no ventilation in the bathroom, the carpet it's was very dirty, and the fridge it was off it has very bad smell. I don't recommend any body to stay in this place. It's very bad place at all the motel it's more nicer.
Pet friendly hotel, a bit dated, smelly but clean. The wifi did not work at all. Even in the lobby it was almost impossible to get access. The young man on the desk at night was very accommodating and reset the router but it did not fix the problem. When it was mentioned at check out the only response was that they had not received any other complaints. Breakfast was fine and the service there was good. Not much noise from the main road outside, which was a pleasant surprise.
NO AIR CONDITIONER IN ROOM. Complained that listing showed rooms have air. Front desk said Web site is wrong. Half hour of arguing layer was put in another room with air conditioner that rattles and clangs like the fans going to fall off. DON'T BOTHER STAYING HERE. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS THEY ACCURATE. Stained musty flooring. Cheap mattresses. DEFINITIVELY Ñ O T Worth the MONEY..... WILL NOT BE BACK.
We thought this was a horrible hotel. We booked through hotels.com and it seemed as though they gave us the worst room because of that. The rug is old and grungy. I wore sandals the whole time. The bathroom is divided. Tiny tub and toilet in one closet and then a sink behind a small wall. There was no room to change in privacy because the bathroom was too small and the little wall had a mirror that reflected directly to the bed. On a nicer side, the water pressure in the shower was great. That pressure leads to loud noises so when the neighbour above us chose to shower before bed... We heard it loud and clear! I always check for bugs and other gross things. I did not find any critters at all in the room. I did find blood on the mattress cover though. I slept on top of the bed with my own blanket to save my sanity. There was no air conditioning. There was one tiny lamp between the two beds. The wifi doesn't reach the room. We had to sit by the door to pick up the signal. We hope that you are lucky enough to have other options. We booked late and all the hotels were already taken. Listen to the reviews listed that are under 4. Anyone giving this 4 or 5 is just being generous. They are not doing any favours.
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel to visit the Manic-5. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this location at all. The last renovation seems to happened decades ago. On our arrival the sink stinks, the room felt dirty, blanket and bed had heavily signs of usage, found bath towels with holes. A day later in the evening after our trip the room has not been made, everything was as we left in the morning. The sink stinks still, even though I left a notice at the reception. Positive was the very friendly service at the breakfast.
