It Was An Unforgetable Day for My wife " Great Thanks for " Mr Husain & Ms May " for The surprise and the Room Setup , I have Spent great helpfull Training time with you Mr Sadiq In GYM ,For sure I will come back again ..
This hotel is one of the more luxurious ones in Bahrain. This large-sized, one and only Thalassa Spa hotel is a welcome retreat. After travelling and arriving at the hotel, the friendly ‘feel-like-I’ve-known-you-a-long-time’ welcome from Bouboul in reception is a pleasant relief. His Arabic tea and dates add to the warm welcome -Mumtaz! The expansive lobby area is impressive. The reception staff greet you with a smile, work well under pressure and provide information in a friendly manner. The rooms are spacious with quality, luxurious furniture and facilities with are regularly stocked by the efficient housekeeping team. Always a treat and pleasure when staff go that extra mile and get creative. Thank you Angelo (good luck!) and Nayan for including your creative flair with the toweled swan art which you did and the roses – much appreciated. The balcony view from the room is always a winner with beautiful sunrises, sunsets and sea views. Handy for a breakfast indoors or for yoga stretching in the morning. A morning walk along the beach and a dip in the sea is a great way to start the day. One of the winning features of the breakfast buffet provided from the Saraya restaurant is the ‘live’ cooking station – you can order to your specific request, give your table number and it will be delivered to your table. Thank you to the waitresses and waiters who do their best to satisfy a multitude of requests. It’s not easy smiling and going for this and that all day! Thank you to the spa staff for all the pampering! The treatments are relaxing, indulgent and work! It’s good that there are promotions and offers, as the treatments are a little expensive but that means you need to save more! Sofitel, I really believe you need to put on more big events and functions as you do them so well! Thank you to all the kitchen staff, waiters (Sandeep you’re great!) and waitresses, hospitality staff and everyone else involved in the events that took place over the festive season. Bouboul, you’re a good host and brought a smile and got people dancing for the lunchtime live entertainment, simply lovely. A big thank you to all of the Sofitel staff from reception, restaurant, housekeeping, gym personnel and spa personnel who worked together to make my stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Best wishes Jennifer
This was not my first time to visit or stay at sofitel zallaq. I attended several wedding parties and some events. Loved the room , it was spacious and modern with arabic touch.bed was comfortable and we had great view of ocean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast buffet was amazing with delicious food and italian restaurant had excellent fresh Baked pizza, special thanks to chef Ramesh for making delicious steak and surprised dessert for my kid. Would highly recommend checking the tapas bar out with its amazing view to have shisha. looking forward for our next visit
What a great hotel. We came in for a couple of days and it was relatively empty. The weather was cool but nice. The hotel is made great by its employees. We had great attentive service in Saraya. Especially by Jalees from the F&B team who took special care of us! Highly recommend coming off season and chatting with the staff and you would be surprised what they can do!!! Thank you Jalees and the F&B team!
I really enjoyed a great night with my wife to celebrate her birthday in Sofitel. We were overjoyed by the facilities and amazing help by staff. The view from the balcony is incredible, swimming pool and waves of the beach. Mr. Hussain was the first person I met, he was the one who made the check in for me smoothly and also he advised me to select the perfect view room. The largest smiler Abdulla Tawash,(bellboy), greeted me with big smile and he took my Luggage to the room, helpful guy. really I liked his smile😃. Warm greeting to Maria and Marymai, they made a most amazing romantic setup, I surprised when I saw it. Finally, I appreciate all the efforts and what it take to make a memorable stay in Sofitel Zallaq is the great staff, thanks to all and I hope to met them soon.
The very first time I stayed in this hotel was 12th Sept 2014. The 2nd time was 5th May 2017. The 3rd time was just a week ago from 29th Dec 2017 to 1st Jan 2018 for the countdown to 2018. Positive points: 1. The superior Club king room is great and spacious with a large balcony that offers a spectacular view of the pool and beach/sea-front. 2. The bed is heavenly comfortable with super clean linen. 3. Toiletries are of good quality except for the toothbrush set which didn't reflect the same quality and prestige as those provided by Hermes of Paris. 4. Breakfast at the Saraya is great. 5. The Club Millesime is spacious and comfortable with high ceiling and a great balcony. 6. All the staff are super friendly. Negative points: 1. The steam room at the La Plage Health Club was out of order allegedly due to electrical problem. During my 2 previous stays, I was offered the privilege to use the steam room in the Thalassa Spa but to my disappointment, the steam room was out of order. In all my 3 stays, I didn't get to use the steam room. Comparatively, the Tryp by Wyndham in Abu Dhabi has a tiny steam room that works. 2. Some bath towels in room #1634 was found to be not so clean. 3. When I called "0" for turndown service, the operator could not understand what is turndown service. 4. The buffet dinner served during the grand new year's eve occasion was not good at all. Compared with other countdown dinners in previous years, this occasion priced at BD75 was, in my opinion, a rip off. 5. With no disrespect whatsoever, the Electric Swing Circus (the band that performed during the new year's eve function), was boring. They failed to connect with the audience. The sound system was not good. Their anachronistic performance didn't reflect the 1920 Great Gatsby theme. It would have been great had a 2nd band had performed. In conclusion, the Sofitel Bahrain management have to really shape up to stay competitive and relevant.
First off the hotel still has room for improvement, mainly in delivering 5* service as standard by all the staff. There were some interactions that didn’t leave you feeling particularly important which I am sure the hotel will correct. Their response when I did in fact highlight that the service hadn’t been great was excellent. I am not someone who complains much in hotels and restaurants, however there were 2 things I raised and both times they were dealt with magnificently by management. Having said this, there are some guys who stood out as being fantastically helpful. Adil Husain and Jamal helped me to plan and book a special couple of nights at the hotel, and were exceptionally warm and friendly, taking lots of time to ensure that our stay would be memorable. These are the sort of staff that make you want to return to a hotel. We were lucky enough to stay in one of their opera suites, ours had a Turkish theme which was lovely, I think the best of the suites would be the Gulf suite, it has the most unobstructed sea views for an excellent sunset location. These suites have a large balcony and their own pools which is the main attraction, there’s total privacy. These suites would be improved by better maintenance and care of the terrace. Some of the decking was loose, the whole deck was very dusty and unfortunately the pools are not climate controlled. If these decks were maintained, kept clean, and had all year round use of the pool, this would be hands down the best hotel room I have stayed in Bahrain. Keep going Sofitel, ur on the right track 👍🏽 And thank you for helping us have a lovely stay
Walking into the hotel was great, because the lobby was nice and staff were friendly at the start. The rooms? Could use a lot of work, because for a 5 star hotel, it should look brand new every time you walk in. Not like it's been there since the opening of the hotel. Restaurants? The Asian place was nice, and so was the Italian. But the seafood restaurant and the Arabian restaurant that seemed like a 70s old style nightclub? No thanks. Room service? Don't expect any quick service. They like to take their time. Bathroom? Shower? I think the owners or managers at the hotel don't travel much to compare it to anywhere else. Basic and water smells funny when you wash your face in the morning. When I asked why, they blamed the pipes or "it happens sometimes". And god forbid, you go to the lobby in the weekend, other than the fun Brunch environment they have, the rest of the day time is like you're in a zoo and no staff are around to keep anything clean until all the visitors leave.
We had spent Christmas and New Year at the Sofitel Zallaq in Bahrain. It turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The Sofitel is the ideal venue for people who intend to chill out and recreate. It has a nice garden with pool and a private beach; the facilities are well maintained and mix oriental flair with french esprit. Our room was orientally elegant and well maintained; the balcony faced the garden and the sea. Housekeeping, Nayan, was doing an excellent job, working unobtrusively, precise, overlooking and leaving the room orderly and neatly cleaned. Water, amenities (Hermès), towels etc were of course replenished and changed daily. The conciergerie proved to be extremely competent, well connected and helpful with the head concierge Adel being a member of the Clefs d’Or. Questions were answered instantankously, all our requests were fulfilled on the spot. The beach staff (Kaki, Abdulla) was always friendly, foresightful and ready to give a hand. And as a surprise to us one of them - Abdulla - suddenly addressed us in fluent German. We did not use all the facilities and restaurants, but the club lounge was one pleasant place to take the afternoon tea, with comfortable chairs and sofas and a balcony overlooking the garden, the beach and the sea. The lounge staff was very friendly, hospitable and offered an anticipatory service. The food and beverages (we don‘t drink alcohol) was rich in variety and tasty. For us breakfast is of utmost importance and the first highlight on every day at the Sofitel had been the breakfast buffet. It did not only contain everything you could (sensefully) expect of a breakfast at a five star hotel in the Middle East. A huge plus was the staff at the Saraya (Derya, Raman, Marie, the life cooking staff) which gave the impression of enjoying their work and which was led by what seemed to be a very competent and warm-hearted management (Jalees with his colleagues Joy and Mervyn). Jalees was the most present; he always maintained good command over the staff and personally took responsibility to fulfill even our oddest requests, e.g. for our daily Masala Chai for breakfast. Manager and staff really made a difference. And yet another big plus: At all times Jalees had a close eye on keeping the terrace and the garden very tidy at all times - much neater than in most comparable hotels - so that it always was a pleasure to relax there under one of the sun shades every morning after breakfast and read the daily newspaper. Another mentionable service was the laundry service, which returned my laundry very fast - 3 hours for a polo shirt from pickup to delivery is a very quick - and still worked impeccably. Only one thing was dearly missed for a hotel of this category and quality: A regular shuttle service to the museum, souk and malls. When we used the hotel limousines, the rides were comfortable and the driver drove safely, but on one of our ways back to the hotel, a cab driver almost ripped us... All in all we felt heartfully welcome and well treated, with the hotel staff being especially pleasant a plus and the hotel giving the impression of being well-managed. The Sofitel in Bahrain can only be recommended; it can well match the Ritz-Carlton in Manama, which we had chosen on our last visit to Bahrain. It was worth spending our time at the Sofitel.
We stayed for 4 nights. Excellent service across the resort. New Year’s Eve party was wonderful, food selection and quality was great. Housekeeping was perfect. Our host Jalees at breakfast throughout 4 days was simply excellent! He was warm caring and made sure we were taken care of every morning. Great stay with no complaints best place to stay in Bahrain.
