Very disappointing to be honest...I expected much better Good check in staff, nice pool area and fast WiFi But average rooms which were very dusty, very dirty carpets in the general areas and a poor response to a basic request (in fact numerous requests) let the hotel down

Mr. Ajay 🍍 had served us the whole time since we arrived to the restaurant and the most impressive part was that big smile on his face no matter what we ask him to bring for us without hesitation. Thanks Ajay for your effort, Best regards. 😎🍍🙏🏾

My husband and I stayed here for 8 day for some guaranteed sunshine in May within easy reach of the UK. We didn’t expect any more than that so were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel staff were very welcoming and the restaurants were excellent. Main “down sides” for us would be: 1) our first room was on the same floor and very close to reception/the restaurants. Excessively loud (ie not block able by earplugs) music and singing was still going on at 1:30 am which was not a relaxing start to our holiday. We were moved the next day but staff admitted that these rooms are universally complained about and are not suitable as bedrooms - unless you are medically deaf. 2) food and drink were eye-wateringly expensive - and we’ve had a few holidays in Dubai for comparison. £8 for a 1 litre bottle of water in one of the restaurants!!!! 3) there’s not a lot of “culture” in Bahrain - or if there is it’s difficult to find. We really wanted to learn about the history of the country including things like the pearl trade, or how the archipelago was constructed but most of what we came across was related to the history of Islam with a little about early trading activity. We learnt more about India than Bahrain on this visit - I did say the hotel staff were friendly! A final massive “plus” would be the spa. Definitely at the pricier end of spa treatments but it was very very good. We probably won’t return but would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to stay outside of Manama.

We stayed for 3 weeks in May 2018. The room was excellent with a view of the gulf and also of the garden and swimming area. The service was excellent 10 out of 10 during the month of Ramadan. The room was really comfortable, clean and with excellent facilities including a menu for the pillows. Definitely recommend this hotel if you like a quiet get away.

Booked for Friday Brunch, best one yet. Great food, great entertainment and a really relaxed atmosphere. Would wholeheartedly recommend this. I’d recommend the Asian dishes, I’ve never tasted a better Indian curry anywhere.

We visited this hotel with my family for a short vacation and it's worth it. The hotel is very unique and the service was so professional. It is the best hotel we've stayed so far. Food was so delicious , service was so fast and housekeeping team is one of the best. Thank you to Joel for helping and taking care of us during our stay and also Melissa for cleaning our room during our entire stay. I will not forget the service you've done with my family to make our stay memorable and leave the property happy.

Excellent atmosphere in Ramadan tent, with food from around the Arabian countries like Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt and many more countries. Live pasta and shawarma. Very delicious desserts. Very enjoyable evening at sofitel Zallaq Bahrain.😊

One of the best iftar for this year. The night theme was a nice touch. You feel like you’re dining under the stars. The food selections and choices is good and tasty. The stations includes cold and hot appetizers, soups, shawarma, breads, Moroccan, Indian, Asian, Arabic, desserts, beverages and pasta. There are two soups, lentil and harira. I didn’t try the latter since I have no idea what’s in it but the lentil soup is light and tasty. Appetizers station has so many to choose from. I love the deep fried vegetables and the seafood salad. For the main entrees, I went for the most popular grilled shrimps. They were so tasty, fatty and juicy. I wanted to eat a platter of it but I want to try the other dishes. The Moroccan stations had different type of tagines, from vegetables to chicken. On the Asian station, I only tried the sambal fish since I was getting full and I want to try the desserts. All the desserts were inviting. The patissier did a good job. The details on the pastries are exquisite. One dessert caught my eye, the chocolate mousse with gold leaf sheets. I wonder if those are real? To sum up my review, the iftar is highly recommended. And the price is reasonable, 23BD for all of that? Good deal right?
