Fabulous room, good lounge, poor service at tapas restaurant, lovely staff, amazing grounds, horrible experience with kids club ponies.I love this hotel but had a couple of surprises this stay. The wait staff placed our orders randomly at our large table and I ended up not getting to eat 3 of the 5 items I specifically ordered for myself and my friend seated together. Their solution was a free fruit plate after the meal, which I did not want. I think another form of compensation might have been in order. The kid's club offered pony rides, which I thought was really cute, until we saw that the young handler's were beating, kicking and throwing shoes at the ponies inbetween the kiddie rides. We spoke to the boys, but they did not stop. The lifeguard got the security guard for us. We spoke with him but he felt there was nothing he could do about it. He did speak to the kid's club staff. They gathered the children and took them in the building, so we were hopeful, until another group of children came out and were offered the ponies! One of the ponies was quite agitated and was even trying to bite the handler. We were horrified that these animals were mistreated, that it was not stopped, and that the children were seated on ponies that were upset-- potentially very unsafe for the unsuspecting kids, who were not accompanied by their parents at the time. In such an idyllic setting, this was disturbing and ruined our afternoon near the pool. I hope the hotel has plans to get rid of this company providing the ponies. Other than these two points, a very nice stay.
A pleasant place to spend a few days if you're looking for a decent beach in Bahrain. Place is wonderful and only 25 minute drive from Bahrain's financial harbour. Rooms are very nice but do smell a bit dumped. Views are to die for, the buffets were great, staff very professional. Only con would be how expensive f&b is. Ridiculous. All in all a wonderful weekend getaway. Highly recommended
I stayed there along with my wife for three nights, checkin was fast , upgraded to club room. The room decor is authenticly lovely , toilete amenities are superb . The staff is very nice thanks to Hussein and Hoda from front office. Breakfast is excellent , The only disadvantage is that house keeping is bit slow , if you request anything they could take more around 30 minutes to deliver.
This is one of the most beatiful hotels in Bahrain and recommended for westerners as swimming pool and beach are open for ladies who can wear swimsuit as per your choice. Buffet restaurant has a very good selection Room is very comfortable with very nice view to sea There are several swimming pools including one with access to Bar. In summary, it's a good hotel and nice experience for families.
The Nairobian opera suite with private swimming pool was one of the most luxurious resort I ever staid. Simply everything was above expectations, the hospitality, the infinity view pool, the suite furniture and the complimentary fruits, sweet and drinks. The business lounge access and facilities was amazing. Totally recommended for privcy, anniversaries and family occasions. Definitely I'm going to repeat my visit to Opera suite.
This was our first visit the to Sofitel Bahrain. We were very happy with the sevice . The best part of the hotel is it's pool. It kids friendly and even we enjoyed it alot .It has a small private beach attached to it ,it is beautiful to watch sunset . Food was good. Overall a beautiful memorable experience for our family.
Very nice beach resort with one of the nicest beaches in Bahrain. You can find different activities in the premises (including a golf chipping station). Friendly staff, superior rooms and good selection of food and drinks. The location is outside the city so it may take a while commuting if you visif Manama for business and decide to stay in this hotel.
I stayed in the hotel last year. Greatly enjoyed every bit of the service, food & atmosphere. I did not have the chance to visit the spa at that time as it was recommended to me. So I made sure to book an appointment this time. It didn't live to my expectations though. The moment I arrived with my sister & mentioned my appointment, the lady at the reception checked & said you booked so & so, each cost so & so, and looked me straight in the eye and said: How do you want to settle your bill? I was surprised honestly. She didn't even took the time to welcome us! The service at the spa generally was average. I don't recommend the place & won't come back. Not worth the cost. And the place is away from the city, transportation was a problem.
Returning to Sofitel Bahrain made us feel right at home. The excellence and the warmth of the staff, from the appointments to the Milesime Club, and of course my favorite restaurant in Bahrain, La Mer (thanks for all, Mr. Brian Dexter!), will make us to return regularly to spend our weekends in this perfect environment. Strongly recommended.
