The rooms are massive with great bathrooms and facilities. Very unusual for a stop over place like Badajoz but the casino is also in the hotel and I guess people come from afar to use it. Didn't eat in the restaurant because it was late but the room service menu is 24 hours and extensive.
Stayed at the hotel for just one night. It's modern but lacks of charm. Situated on the wrong side of the river. Big king bed that made you disturb eachother during the nighttime. The airconditioning didn't work. Big casino in the building, but we didn't visit it. Average breakfast. We won"t stay there again.
I stayed here for three nights while on business in the area. I had a car and you can park for free outside but I used the underground car park for security reasons. The hotel is ideally situated for access to Badajoz and it's a very pleasant walk via a footbridge across the river to the old city centre. The hotel had friendly staff, a good restaurant and the room was excellent for the money. The bed was very comfortable and the room was silent. Badajoz city is well worth exploring if you have the time. I visited a number of local cafes and restaurants and wasn't disappointed.
It was easy to park for nothing just outside, although I believe pay parking is also available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our upgrade to a superior room and we were even presented with a small present as we left. We did not have dinner in the hotel but there was a good breakfast selection and coffees were made for us. Our room was large with an enormous bed and a huge ensuite with both bath and shower cubicle and twin basins. I chose a bath and the water was hot and filled quickly. There was a safe and ironing board in the wardrobe and a coffee machine and mini bar with snacks (great crisps but usual crazy mini bar prices). The only disappointment was probably my mistake but I had understood the hotel to have spa facilities and so I presumed a pool and maybe massage. Turns out they have reorganised to make room for a gym and now there is just a jacuzzi and sauna - as well as the gym. So we weren't able to go for a swim and I am still waiting for a neck massage!
Very high quality hotel within the NH chain. I stayed in a premium room, which happens to be the biggest room I have every slept in. Huge bed. Very good all round. Would definitely recommend this hotel when passing by Badajoz.
Our room in this hotel was very nice. It was a 'superior', and had a large , comfortable double bed with the bathroom area divided off, with two basins, large shower cubicle and separate toilet behind a glass door. There was a coffe machine that we couldn't get working ( not a Dolce Gusto ). There was a fridge with drinks, but they are always overpriced in hotels so we don't ever use. To get to the breakfast room, you have to descend one elevator and go up again in another ( ! ). The breakfast was in a nice light room with access to a balcony, and there was the usual continental breakfast food. Unfortunately, the coffee machine was like the one in our room and several people have up on it and I heard some Spanish guests saying it was over complicated. There were tea bags but not the more usual English ones, and the water for it was just warm, sitting in a jug ! Very efficient staff on reception. There was a bar in reception but although it was advertised as open from noon until midnight, there was never anyone serving when we passed by and no one came to serve us when we waited at the bar. Badajoz town was a 20 minute walk over the old bridge, and although interesting historically, it didn't really have much about it.
This was a one night stop over on on way south to Lagos in Portugal and was just a few minutes drive from the Spanish/ Portuguese border. We had booked two rooms - one for our son and one for us. Both were excellent as were the amenities and provision of such as a cosy dressing gown and slippers - so nice when tired after quite a long drive. We had a very easy walk into the old town which was lovely - the walk and the town! Given we had an early start the next morning we decided to eat at the hotel's restaurant. The food and service was very good. A word of warning - we all chose fish dishes which did not come with any accompaniments. This wasn't a problem for us as I have a very small appetite and the chaps always enjoy a dessert. However there was no information on the menu about the inclusion or exclusion of accompaniments and there wasn't a listing for side orders so we assumed veg ... would be part and possible. We would definitely stay here again and eat in the restaurant again. Both were very good value for money.
We spent there only a weekend but we could notice it is very comfortabe. The beds were big and there were lots of space at the bedroom. Some confort items were at our disposal such as a board and an iron, slipers and robes. The only negative points were the strong smell at the corridors probabky due to the carpet and the fact that there was not a swimming pool. Lack of entertainment for youngers as they cannot go to the casino inside the hotel. The highlight was the restaurant. The service was very efficient and the quality of the served food was very good. I recommend vividly.
All was correct, we didn´t get to try the breakfast though it tends to be very good at NH. Efficient check-in check-out which is what we cared about. Annoying that you could not control the air conditioning from the room, had to keep calling reception.
Excellent choice for staying in Badajoz! Big and quiet rooms that are clean and very comfortable. Helpful and lovely staff. Hotel is located about 10 minutes walk from the old town. View from the breakfast room to old town is beautiful. And the breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. Sauna, Turkish bath and gym was also included to the price but these we did not try. We would definitely recommend this hotel. It really was good value for money.
