Mixed feelings

We booked our room for the huge balcony. It turned out to be huge but was covered in snow and ice. That was disappointing. Electrics in the building were also poor, you had to choose the plugs you wanted to use. The building itself is all it promises and makes your stay interesting and that was why we tried it. Still balcony especially was disappointing. This may seemmlike a bargain but I am not 100% sure on that. The building is exceptional, there us no denying that.

New Year at Bad Gastein

Very friendly service, but the reception is located at the restaurant/bar far away from entrance at -1 floor. Only a few parking spaces available. Great views. Going skiing? - take a taxi to the ski-lifts, saves you a lot of logistics with car and parking, but have the taxi number by you ( you can get it from the reception ). Restaurant is not open at day time - but because of the people there, I could have my afternoon coffee there. Probably won't work all the time - lots of cafeterias near-by. Hotel manager, cleaning personnel, restaurant personnel really make the best for you. Just ask.

Laskettelureisulla kahden kaverin kanssa. Aluksi paikasta tuli mieleen elokuva Hohto. Parhaat päivänsä nähnyt hieno rakennus jossa ei näkynyt ketään missään :) Hotelli sijaitsee alakaupungissa joten sieltä on aikamoinen kävely ylämäkeen yläkaupunkiin, jossa suurinosa ravintoloista ja baareista on. Alakaupunki todella näivettynyt, rakennusten ympärillä aidat ja ravintoloita vähän. Aamuisin kuljimme vuokra-autollamme rinteille, joten hiihtobussin toimivuutta hotelllista hisseille ei tullut kokeiltua. Tästä syystä laskujen jälkeiset suorat afterskiitkin jäivät viettämättä, koska kukaan ei halunnut roudata kamoja pitkiä matkoja. Huone oli ihan perustasoinen ja suihkusta saatiin kuumaa vettä pienen vääntelyn jälkeen. Plussaa parvekkeesta jonne sai "elintarvikkeet" viilenemään. Aamupala ei lähelläkään Suomen hotelliaamiaisia mutta mahan sai täyteen. liikoja kasviksia aamuaisella ei kannata odottaa.

Prisvärst boende

Ett lugnt och stillsamt hotell, nästan lite öde då det var så stora gemensamma utrymmen som inte används ex breda stora korridorer och trappor. En bra frukost med tv som visade pister och väder därifrån. Nära till restauranger och gång avstånd till liften med skor, dock en riktigt rejäl uppförsbacke dit och nedför hem. Där man fick ta paus för att inte bli slut, fast jag har hyfsad kondition.

Hotel gut, personal teilweise nicht deutschsprachig, die zimmer suber und groß. Bett war ein traum! Frühstück leider schlecht! Rühreier waren verbrannt und schmeckten nach alten öl.. Die bar und das restaurant waren perfekt! Preisleistung ok!

Glimrende, god morgenbuffet

Alt var fint, bortset fra at receptionen lå i kælderen og derfor havde de nok svært ved at vide, hvad der foregik på hotellet, som er GIGANTISK. Der var meget larm til langt ude på natten (kl 3-4 stykker) ude på gangen pga. fulde gæster

Upea vanha hotelli loistavalla aamupalalla ja mahtavilla vuoristonäkymillä. Hiukan ajan parina näkyy, mutta se ei haittaa kokonaisuutta. Henkilökunta aivan loistavaa porukkaa, poikkeuksellinen halua auttaa ja tehdä lomasta loistava.

En oplevelse vi ikke ville have undværet :-)

Utroligt flot og renoveret værelse. Hyggelig bar i kælderen og udenmærket casino. Derudover virkede Resten af hotellet noget gammelt og lidt forsømt.

Snowboarding in Bad Gastein

Very nice and historical hotel but looks better outside than inside. Overall condition ok but needs a bit renovation and update both rooms and corridors. Room was ok but not as clorius as in pictures. Very good location in the historical Centrum.
