This Mercure has struck an excellent balance between standard business hotel and quaint local accommodation. Parking is plentiful and free of charge. The rooms are pleasant and clean and the restaurant provides great food and service - Lea (Lia?) deserves a special mention. Bad Duerkheim itself is a super place for a stroll. It has a number of interesting things to see including the graduation towers for salt extraction, a lovely old town centre and a splendid and welcoming church.
I am retired and travel a lot for leisure. First hotel i have come across where everyone was charming, friendly and helpful. from the receptionist to the waiters/waitresses and the cleaning staff. Indoor pool and outdoor pools are next door with access through the hotel and free for hotel guests.

Apart from (well-functioning) WiFi and flatscreens, this hotel is stuck in the 1980s. However, when it opened in 1986, everything was brand new. The last complete renovation took place in 1999, 13 years after the opening, and in the 18 years since then, the owner clearly has stopped investing money into the property. For instance, instead of repairing a faulty toilet flushing mechanism in my room, they just let the water run permanently, wasting liters of water per minute. Instead of replacing a hook on the bathroom door, they just filled in the holes and painted over. The wooden furniture is worn around the edges, the grout on the bathroom tiles is falling out in places, the glass toiletries shelf is angling down, the towel heater is rusty and the paint is peeling off... I could go on and on. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and another plus is the free parking lot for hundreds of cars just in front of the hotel. However, this property does not live up to the Mercure brand with its slogan "committed to quality." The hotel needs a total renovation.
Very helpful staff, check in very quick, the room was clean and comfortable with balcony, I really cannot enjoyed the breakfast with a large offer but the hotel is calling for renovation which is visible just after arrival...
This is an old-fashioned but nice hotel with well- kept rooms. Free access to the public baths with lots of activities, although sauna not included. Good breakfast with lots of space. Friendly staff although art check-in do ask for a local Kurkarte which they forgot to offer us. It is for free ( you have to pay the tax anyway) and provides free transport and entrance fees or reductions. For excellent value for money wine, try Bärenhof in close-by Ungstein. Thus will have not been my last visit.
Although it was quite bussy due to the Wurstmarkt event the atmosphere as well the Service is very professionell. Calm, customer oriented and dedicated to be present when needed. I love to stay in this beatufil Hotel.!
Booked this hotel because of the access to the big pool. When we got there however it was rainy and quite cold….. nobody’s fault, but a big bummer…… We never did go swimming! The hotel is slightly dated. Our room was a non-smoking room, nevertheless it did smell like smoke. The room was OK, but nothing spectacular. All in all it wasn’t bad, but next time we’re in the area (and given out love for wines from the Pfalz that is not completely hypothetical) I think I will look for another hotel.
After a long day in the saddle with a very wet tent on board we decided to call it a day and have a comfortable night at the Mercure. The staff were excellent and checked us in even though we must have looked like drowned rats!! The room was what you would expect from a chain hotel and the breakfast excellent. The hotel is very well located for the town facilities. We arrived on a Sunday evening and left early Monday so were unable to appreciate everything they had to offer. However the Kostritzer beer is amazing - you must try it - it won our 'beer of the day' competition on the two week tour and competition was tough ;-)
I must admit. I like this hotel. It's close to the "Weinstrasse", the lovely villages, the "Gradierwerk", and easy access to the great swimming pool. On previous review I appreciated the new Riverside Terrace restaurant but now I must admit, this also comes with a negative. I was here two times in the last weeks and each time, in the hot summer weather people were having drinks and obviously loads of fun in the open air bar until after midnight. As the hotel doesn't have airconditioning I had two options: no sleep because of the noise downstairs, or close the window an no sleep because too hot. The upper floor suite is even worse when it is extremely hot. You must be close to 30°C inside...
