My son and I stayed here for 3 nights. It's a big hotel, we had twin room and it was a good size, ensuite too. Room service is available at no extra cost and the food was lovely. The staff were great, lovely swimming pool, the gym is good too. The only down side is the rooms need a bit of re decorating, the ensuite could do with being updated too. There were quite a few cobwebs around the hotel too and some dusty looking surfaces and a few spiders. BUT it is 3 stars and for that rating you don't expect perfection. The beds were clean and comfy, the toilet and sink clean too. Also there is no lift so be aware if you have mobility issues. I would definitely stay again.

A mix up over a requested early check in meant that I arrived at the church at the same time as the bride! Problem resolved but only after calling for the Manager. I was offered a late check out at no extra cost instead! I was there as part of a family booked block reservation for a wedding 10 minutes down the road. This hotel is like a rabbit warren, stairs, stairs and more stairs. I noticed that there was a disabled entrance! There are some nice rooms with spectacular views! Mine was "recently upgraded" but still had a rather tired feel to it! There is a spa but I cannot comment as although I had my swimming costume with me I Was somewhat put off by the chlorine smell!

Looks a pretty impressive place, nice reception, friendly helpful staff. Our room was the other side of building but if a walk (we were offered assistance) up stairs (2 flights) room was a little on the small side but clean and adequate, nice bathroom. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant, really nice food and excellent service, the place was busier than we expected due to there being a wedding on at the venue we hadn't been told about, wasn't a massive inconvenience but it was the busiest breakfast morning I've been to.

This hotel must be one of the most difficult to get to anywhere in England! And once you get here it looks great - but its a bit faded and the rooms in the courtyard leave a lot to be desired. The food was acceptable, although we were told the restaurant would close at 9pm - we were late arriving due to problems on the M5 - so we hurried to get down before it closed. Imagine our amazement when it allowed two further parties to eat long after the 9 pm closing time!

Stayed here overnight while visiting friends and family. Booked it because it has ' a pool and spa'. The hotel looks tired in places but updated in others. The staff were very helpful, when they could understand what I was asking for. The room was small but clean and well equipped. Had a good nights sleep, although I wear ear plugs so don't know how noisy it gets lol. Food was lovely and well presented both the bar meal on Sunday evening and breakfast the following morning which was buffet but there were lots of options. As for the pool and spa area............... It feels like they had a space so put some gym and spa equipment in!! The pool was clean, the gym equipment up to date but the flow just doesn't work. You have to go through the reception and gym in your swimwear to get from the pool to the sauna, steam room and changing rooms. With a little re organisation it could be a good space but isn't very functional at the moment. I would probably go back but with less enthusiasm for a relaxing spa experience.

Used this Hotel a couple of times now for business trips. Easy access to M5. Good place to stay. Always try and get a room in the main building as the Court Yard rooms are much smaller with thin walls and no views in most. Gym facilities are an added bonus. The pool is a good temperature but a bit on the small side. Food is very good with a wide and varied selection for dinner and breakfast.

Having phoned t several days earlier to confirm a room upgrade as website wouldn't accept it I felt all would be fine as the young lady I spoke to seemed very polite and capable. (In fact upon meeting her during my stay I would say she is the not only the best member of staff but the best asset that hotel has!) I arrive later than planned, thanks M5! So checked in went to my room which was basic, pretty cold as it was below freezing outside and the window wouldn't shut properly, and overall gloomy. As it was late and I was tired I decided to go and get a drink and a sandwich take them back to my room and sleep as I had to be up at 05:45. The bar had absolutely no atmosphere, I've seen livelier old peoples homes! Food was passable, cheese sandwich and chips. What I found odd was the fact that towels seemed to be stored all over the place, bottom of staircases, on the bench outside where people were smoking, surely this would be an additional fire hazard? Would I stay again, no!

Stayed here with my husband over my birthday. Our room was in the original part of the building and was large, comfortable and clean with a lovely view over the terrace and surrounding countryside. The only complaint was lack of comfortable seating in our room, there were two very uncomfortable chairs which we found too low, but that is our only complaint. Staff are very friendly. Food in both the bar and restaurant was very good. Plenty of choice for breakfast. There were two weddings whilst we were there and we thought we wouldn't get much sleep but we honestly hardly heard a noise from the guests. We love the olde worlde charm of the Best Western hotels and always try to stay in one of them when we go away.

Booked here for a couple of nights to take my husband away for his birthday. It was ok but felt the pictures on the wed site showed it in a better way than it is. All staff where really nice, just the hotel it's self is slightly run down and needs a bit of attention. I don't think it was worth the money I paid that's for sure. We ate the first night there and wished we hadn't the food was not great, it might if been cooked fresh at some point but not that night. Very disappointing. Breakfast was ok normal self serve buffet, but did felt rushed both mornings even though we where down at least half hour before the end. Over all unfortunately I wouldn't go back unless they did work on the building and the chef was better. But like I said the staff we saw where very nice.

We stayed one night in a basic room - not even a wardrobe and was small enough not to be able to swing the proverbial cat! Two twin beds right next to each other that were uncomfortable. The sheets were spotless and the room well cleaned but it was dated. Check in was friendly. We are in the hotel and had two bar meals. These were very nice and we had them on the terrace - but there is a lot of noise from the motorway. Shame as the view is fantastic. Lovely view of the linen/laundry bins from our room but not too much of an issue as it was only one night. We had a really quiet night as there was not a wedding function going on - be aware at weekends these take place most Fri and Sat - it does say this on their website so imagine it would be noisier with the taking place. For the price it met our needs - I wouldn't stay agin though.
