The staff.......the desk manager.Service great. The room, well i used a third party to reserved and the manager still showed me my room and another room. I ended up with a better choice, what a surprise. Location is very very relaxing. As always any place I have visited has something that I did not like, however, how can I not like mother nature. She has placed monkeys on the property. The monkeys were probably there a long time before the resort, it's their home. So beware they can be swift to get you food, lol. so eat fast.
Terrific staff & Hospitality. Exceptional job. Great experience for the whole team. Unforgettable moments. Fair Price. Thank You! Lewi Staff members Specially the Marketing Manager Mr. Wubshet.......Lewi a palce to be!!!!
It has the best view to lake Hawassa, excellent room quality and most of all it has the best service. You also have great time eating breakfast with "Gureza". Standard rooms include most things free. Swimming, Steam & Sauna. Best times
Unfortunately with my wife I spent 4 nights in this rubbish hotel , I don't have right words to describe this place so old and so dirty, terrible service terrible food and breakfast only for local people don't expect to get one cookie and if you need a glass of water they charge it. Moreover when I paid the bill I was in hurry and when I checked my invoice a discovered they have charged on my room the extra of another roon so I paid for wine and beer and soft drinks that I have not drunk. The receptionist was really unuseful and icompetent person. I live and work in Ethiopia I have been in Hawassa many times but for sure this is my worst experience. Never more
We visited Lewi Hotel in June 2019, this hotel is a very dangerous place to visit. Safety was our number one concern we have encountered a life threatening situation. The pool was full of algae, they charge you an additional fee for using the pool and it is not even clean. Safety is a big concern, we were threatened with our life by some low level locals who uses on a regular bases, they are well protected by the hotel security. I strongly recommend anyone visiting Awassa against this Hotel/Resort!!! Very bad bad place!!
I stayed there for two months and was very happy with the service and facilities. the marketing director Wube was always ready to help and so was the entire staff. I would highly recommend the hotel. bill
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lewi Resort. This is the first time that I saw the need for a man with a stick next to our table to keep monkeys from stealing our food. The boat ride on Lake Awasa to see the hippos was unbelievable. The accommodations were quite comfortable. We would definitely choose Lewi again if in Awasa.
I made a very nice trip to Awasa and Langano from 16 to 19 February with tour guide Haile Shiferaw Tufa from Real Ethiopia. He had organized the car and a room, first in Lewi resort with beautiful view on the lake Awasa, and then Sabana beach resort at Langano lake. Thank you Haile for your great help! If anyone needs an experienced and responsible guide and driver I can recommend him. Contact: email@example.com or tel. +251911796345 Facebook: Real Ethiopia. Instagram: real.ethiopia
The room in the Lewi Resort followed the standard design for a hotel room and was good.It had a balcony looking out on to the lake. I was unable to use it much as Grivet monkeys would hear the door sliding and bound up from below to see what they could steal. Perhaps as low as 30% of Ethiopia hotels do not have a plumbing problem of one nature or another. That the plumbing here was done professionally and worked well is an accolade worth giving. Wifi worked very well. My food experience was mixed. We'd tried to eat lunch on the patio area by the lake. I have mandatory medical dietary rules but despite clear explanation by my Ethiopian guide the club sandwich turned up with a banned ingredient. It was sent back with a further explanation. The same ingredient was in the second serving. I was astonished when the guide paid for one of the sandwiches before we left to get food elsewhere. The evening meal was served without any difficulties. In fact the chicken a la king was well cooked and presented. A bunch of 3 month or so old kittens and their mother begged but discretely at the table while Egyptian Geese waddled around and both Grivet and Columbus monkeys were beaten off with sticks by the staff. Breakfast was in the dining room with conservatory style windows was poor. The choice was limited and mainly of sweet foods or Ethiopian concoctions The scrambled egg was from powdered egg. I fed but little. My case was trundled for me down the long path from reception and up to the first floor on arrival and collected and trundled back on departure.
The place is so Amezing. Bigger room with beautiful view of lake Awasa. Supper Friendly Stuff the food Choice is good You don’t feel like going anyplace 2 more days left to our Vacation so far It’s Awesome!
