The home is near ocean boardwalk access and has two carports, an under-house entry, a fish table, and a nice outside shower. The first level has a storage area with a handy small freezer for your catch. Damn Yankee will win you over with a perfectly maintained, third-level great room with tall ceilings and a super vacation floor plan. All Tvs have access to the Spectrum streaming app with expanded permissions for sports , news and music channels . The owner's attention to detail has the all-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and nearby dining area ready for all entertaining assignments. Damn Yankee is a near-perfect vacation pitch on Hatteras Island and is a NON-PET property.

This property features a covered porch and a luggage lift that goes to the top floor. It includes a well-equipped kitchen with modern appliances. Located on a quiet street just one block from the ocean. Restaurants, shopping, a fishing pier, and a grocery store are all within walking distance. The beach is just a three-minute walk away, and the property provides beach chairs, bikes, and water gear, including boogie boards. Additionally, there is a private electric vehicle charger available.

Damn Yankee 39-2

This ia a wonderful property wirh a great location in Avon. Public access to the beach practically across the street. Property was very clean and modern. Fantastic view of the ocean. My only complaint is there is not alot of countertop surfaces for food prep. Lots of very good restaurants within a mile of the house. I have already booked it for this October and May 2024, thats how much i think of this house.

Great location

Loved that we could see the ocean from all balconies. Unfortunately with everyone being so short staffed, the garbage was never taken to the curb, house was dirty and they never refilled the propane like they said they would. Overall happy with the house, just disappointed in the few little things.

Great for families

Property is well equipped with all amenities including beach chairs, etc., so you don't need to bring much other than beach clothes. The house is not directly on the beach, but because the lot between Damn Yankees and the beach has not been built on, the view of the ocean from the front east facing decks of the house is a close second. Vacasa property management made getting in and out easy. We've rented this house twice, and probably will again.

Great Vacation Getaway

My family spent a week at Damn Yankees during our kids' spring break. The location was great and the house was perfect for a family of 7. We were a little confused about the beach access, but it was very convenient about 4 houses down and right across the street. We hope to return in the future.

Relaxing week

The house was exactly what we’d hoped for- quiet, comfortable and near the beach. Beach access was steps away. We enjoyed the ocean view from inside and out. The hot tub was relaxing and the house was equipped with most everything we needed. There is also a mechanical cargo lift to carry up luggage, etc… so you don’t have to lug it up three flights of stairs (I just wish we’d have noticed it BEFORE we hauled everything up on our own!). We’d definitely recommend the house and will return again if we can.

The house was in a great location. Across the street there is no house so there is a clear view of the ocean. It rained a bit during our stay so we were in the house and found out that there are no good covered decks in the house. The hot tub appears to be covered but it will pipe on you if it’s raining because the entire roof drains above it. Many things were also just barely together. The king bed fell apart when we put our bag on it and the toilet seat was just sitting on the toilet. It was nice having access to the bikes/beach chairs/boogie boards at the house. The outdoor shower is huge. And the grill is really nice.

Location was awesome! Beautiful view of ocean. Also received gift basket from owner. Very nice. Issues: check in went from 4 pm from booking date to 5 pm a few weeks out then day of arrival it was 6 pm. However we were offered accommodations at the pool during our wait time. Cleanliness of house was not up to par for price paid. Property mgt was advised.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this house. Awesome view!! Two minute walk on highway that hardly ever had traffic to great beach access. Loved the beach decor in house. The only negative thing I have to say is about the cleaning service. They did not do a thorough cleaning. Other than that, it’s amazing!!

Worth the drive

The normal 6-7 hour drive took over 9, but it was worth it. The property location, house amenities and overall condition are excellent. We had one hiccup with the dishwasher, but the maintenance guy, Wayne, responded immediately and was superb. We will definitely look to rent Damn Yankee again in the future.
