Reel Living #3-AV is a beautiful, waterfront cottage located in historic Avon Village. A dock in the back provides easy access to the shallow waters, as well as direct sound access for windsurfing, kiteboarding, kayaking, boating, SUP, crabbing, and fishing. Rinse off afterwards in the outdoor shower. The traditional Hatteras wraparound porch invites you to catch fresh breezes and enjoy the peaceful scenery. The back porch is definitely the place to be for sensational sunsets. The front door opens to a well-equipped, full kitchen with breakfast island seating and a large dining table. In the adjacent living area, you'll find soundfront seating, hardwood floors, an entertainment center with a large flatscreen TV, deck access, and fabulous water views. You'll also find a soothing hot tub with the best seat in the house for sunsets and stargazing.

Bedroom one is off the kitchen, with a washer/dryer nook. Bedroom two offers a stunning, panoramic soundfront view. It has beautiful pine tongue-and-groove walls and is just steps from a full hall bath with a combination tub/shower; an adjacent door allows this bath to become part of a main suite. The second story continues easy vacation living with wood floors in three bedrooms. Bedroom three has a spacious bath with a whirlpool tub/shower. This bedroom also offers access to a third-floor tower room with a wet bar, futon, and extreme water views on three sides. Bedroom four has sound views and a full bath with a tub/shower. And bedroom five boasts sunrise views and a full bath with a large tiled shower. Out front, there is ample parking on the concrete driveway. Bring the walking shoes and bikes for treks around the quiet village roads. Terrific stay

This lovely property is situated idyllically right on the sound, with gorgeous sunset views, comfy beds and truly delightful decor throughout. VERY clean. Nice quiet, yet friendly neighborhood. The ocean side is a 3 minute drive away, and the overall location was near enough to everything our group wanted to see.Our only issues were supplies: For a 4-night stay, we were left only 2 pods for the dishwasher (and after each cycle there was always a clump of hardened detergent left in the dishwasher dispenser), only 2 pods for the clothes washer, and NO extra trash bags. Communication with the "host" - a property mgmt company - was OK, except when I texted to see if add'l trash bags were perhaps stored someplace we hadn't found, I got what seemed to be an automated reply that ignored my question and instead told me what days the trash is picked up.We all agreed we would stay here again the first chance we got!

My husband and I stayed for a weekend away to recharge and enjoy our favorite beach. While the listing promised certain amenities, they were not available for our use when we arrived. We were not able to use the fireplace even though the listing states in use October-April. That is just the beginning of disappointment, upon our arrival we discovered dirty underwear and clothes in the master bedroom. The microwave was broken and created issues with our dinner preparations. We had no choice but to use the dirty oven to warm food. As soon as we pre heat the oven the whole house reeked of fish. The hot water in the house was not strong enough to fill the tub upstairs, leaving us with a “hot” shower for no more than 7minutes. Excited for the hot tub on the deck, we hopped in to find that half of the jets did not work and parts missing to turn them on or control intensity. For a Friday to Sunday stay for over 700 you would expect better. The location and views were amazing, hopefully come “in season” they will fix the issues that really put a damper on our get away.

Offseason waterfront rental

We were very pleased with the house. Great waterfront on sound property. It took a while for the hot tub to heat up and we had to add more water to cover the jets. We made use of the kayaks and kite/wind surfers went right by us. Note the wifi pwd is all lowercase letters which is different from how it is written plaque in house. Also note the grill isnt listed as an amenity. The fireplace also was not functional. Everything else was very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Fantastic water views and close to local shops and restaurants. Lots of games, puzzles, books and cornhole to use. My only minor complaint was that I wished the neighborhood was nicer as there were some run down homes on the way in. I would recommend this place and would stay again.

Super Sweet Sound

We absolutely loved thee house & the Sound. There were a couple of small maintenance issues- but nothing horrible. As mentioned in previous review the neighborhood dogs do roam free, followed our dogs on our walks & pooped in the yard- slightly frustrating but not terrible. Our main tip is this: we struggled all week thinking each room only had 2 bath towels- having to wash continuously- only to find a huge green bag stuffed in corner closet full of towels on our last night 😂 Look for the green bag!!!

The check-in process was great including a one hour earlier Check in. The rental company, VS VaCasa answered any questions we had quickly. The house is beautiful, and was very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped, which helped out because we cooked all but one of our meals there. The hot tub was very clean and well situated on the back deck with views overlooking the water. The only thing to be aware of; if you bring your dog or dogs, which we did, local dogs will randomly show up in your front and backyard, none of them were aggressive, but it's good to be aware of. Overall, we had a fabulous stay.

Reel Living in December

The property was very nice but we couldn’t walk our dogs because the neighbors let their two brown labs run loose all day. One of them even came onto the wrap around porch and up to the back door. The dogs also used the yard as their bathroom. We would definitely stay at this property again if we didn’t have to worry about loose dogs in the neighborhood.

Great little house on the sound.

We were very happy with the property. The owners have stocked it with everything you might need and it was well organized. They were wonderfully prepared for pets including gates for their wrap around porch. Sunsets from the hot tub were the best.
