The Outrigger Cottage is a Hatteras Island favorite. This cottage has ocean and sound views from its decks. The cottage's private housekeeper assures you that this vacation home is ready for your visit. The house is bright, cheery, and comfortable. The ground level has a large concrete pad, a fish cleaning station (with light), and one of the best outdoor showers around. The interior rooms are painted 'beach house white' and trimmed with traditional warm wood. The main level has an open, airy cathedral ceiling. The living area's comfortable leather furniture is terrific for relaxing, with the entertainment center featuring a smart TV with streaming capabilities and cable. The updated, well-equipped kitchen makes meal preparation a pleasure. The kitchen has a breakfast bar, and there is a traditional dining area. The covered screened porch is a great place to sit back to read a book, catch a quick nap in one of the comfortable Adirondack chairs, or relax in the hot tub. At the day's end, retreat to one of the cozy bedrooms with smart TVs for additional leisure. Visit nearby attractions like Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and Cape Hatteras National Seashore for additional sights within 10 miles of your home base, or enjoy the waves and sand at Salvo Day Use Area 12.3 miles away. A Wonderful house with easy beach access a short walk away. The house is well apointed and had a well equipped kitchen. The hot tub is large and convenient to use. Overall it feels like instead of a,rental you are housesitting for someone. The house feels loved!

Great family home close to the beach

My family and I stayed here and really enjoyed the home! The house was close to the beach and had an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand when you got back. The hot tub was a nice way to end a busy day. Loved our stay!

Wedding weekend

We stayed for the weekend for our friends Wedding. Beautiful home and perfect location 5 min walk to the Beach with beautiful easy accesible walkway. Close to gas station and grocery store. Very clean. Loved the light up steps for night time access. Stayed with our.children ages 13 down to 2. No complaints.

Every thing you need for an enjoyable vacation

The home was very clean and exactly what the images show. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and dishes. My family enjoyed the hot tub and the easy walking access to the beach. Great location to the shops and restaurants. It was the perfect get away.

Happy with our stay

We stayed here for a long weekend with our young kids. It was a nice size and open layout downstairs. The bathrooms could use come updating and the whole house could use a deep cleaning. The edges of all the rooms were sandy and dusty, vents and ac needed to be cleaned. We loved that it was steps to the beach especially with babies!

Great Stay in Avon!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in December with out 13 year old daughter. The house was exactly as advertised. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets. We also enjoyed the kitchen, which was stocked with plenty of cooking ware and spices. This is just what we needed for a quiet little winter getaway!

Clean and well equipped home

The only real drawback to this home is no access to the beach. Had to load up and drive to get to the beach. The house was very clean and comfortable as well as being well equipped.

Bright and Cheerful

We really enjoyed our late April week in the Outrigger. It's a bright and cheerful home with a personal feel that suggests use by the owner. The large kitchen is well equipped for cooking and entertaining. Location is excellent for those wanting easy walking access to the ocean-side beach. We encountered a couple of minor issues that were quickly resolved. All around great experience. Will rent again next time we are in Avon.
