Be careful renting a jupe!

A beautiful site, everyone was pleasant, and the cottages and RV sites are probably fine. However, the photo conceals the fact that all of the lodgings are high on the hill, not near the beach. We rented a jupe, and of course it's obvious to me now that there's no bathroom, but I saw the photo of a nice bathroom and conflated the two! There's a port-a-potty nearby, and a very nice communal bathroom, but it is a long walk uphill so not at all convenient. The jupe (yurt) is nice as far as it goes...but the deal breaker for us was the temperature. It was cozy and warm when we got there at 4pm, but as soon as the sun went down, you could feel it getting colder by the minute. By 6pm, it was intolerable to us, and we packed up our car and left.

The property is beautifully kept. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a jute. We booked on Expedia and it said bath towels were included. This was an error, the staff quickly resolved the issue and brought us bath towels. Great relaxing place to stay. We will definitely be back!

Enjoyable stay, would visit again!

Visited Flying Flags Avila for the first time and had a great stay! The location is quiet and relaxing with easy beach access, dog friendly amenities, and beautiful views. The staff was kind and helpful throughout our visit. The only downsides were the furniture in our cabin, which was quite uncomfortable, especially the bed and sofa, but given the price and location we were fine making that tradeoff. We also had an issue with ants in the kitchenette, waking up to a large trail leading to our dog’s food bowl. Maintenance came by quickly to spray and clean up, which we appreciated. It would have been nice if we had been told in advance that ants are a recurring issue here so we could have been more proactive with food storage. Since this is a very dog friendly place, leaving out a food bowl does not seem unreasonable. We also noticed ants on the bathroom floor after showers, likely searching for water. Honestly this comes with the territory of being at the base of a mountain. We are no strangers to campgrounds and a few bugs are not deal breakers, but it may be worth letting visitors know ahead of time. All in all, it was no harm done and did not take away from our trip. If small inconveniences like that would ruin a stay, a hotel might be a better fit. Overall we had a wonderful time and would happily return. Thank you Flying Flags!

to many others who wondered on Expedia, if you rent a jupe, there is no towel,no shower or shampoo. I wish they would be more clear on their own website. Also the Velcro on the jupe don't hold so well anymore. between the tent and the ground, they could do some vacuuming: old cork, tissue paper l, dust... On the positive, the bed is comfortable, the view on the bay is mesmerizing, at night you can hear the waves like if you're on the beach. The restrooms and shower are new and clean.
