the hotel is very nice and has a nice garden. the staff is very helpful and kind. the room is big nice and comfortable bed. the shower is big modern and big. it is within waking distance from restaurants and has free parking.
La Ferme du Bourran is located on the site of a former farm, surprisingly on a hill immediately outside the new town developments of Rodez, within walking distance of some good restaurants. The hotel is a small family run business with very few rooms - so be advised to book in advance. The room we were given was beautifully arranged, the hotel has no extra facilities but offers a good French breakfast - no restaurant. Pets allowed, free parking on site. Friendly competent staff. Cross into the old town of Rodez and enjoy,
Great hotel, clean, comfortable and agréable. Feels like it is in the country side but across the viaduct to town centre. Bus available, but longish walk possible. Great local restaurants 200 m from hotel across mini park. One Michelin star and one very decent Brasserie as well as pizzerias etc... Need a Digi code if arriving after 9 pm.
We really enjoyed our stopover at this hotel. All the good stuff including very easy and secure parking. Only negative is location is sought of in the burbs of Rodez. You can walk to one or two local restaurants, otherwise car is necessary. Located about 1.5 miles from Cathedral
Extremely pleased with our overnight stay. Room was excellent, staff very helpful, breakfast first class, secure parking in the grounds, very quiet location. On reflection just wish we had eaten there in the evening.
We stopped for a night on our trip across France. The hotel is just out of town, but a drive away from the main centre. We were content at the peace and quiet after a long day. There are not many facilities at the hotel, but it was a very comfortable overnight stay. There are restaurants within walking, and there is parking. Breakfast was very good.
We have family in Rodez, so visit a few times each year. La Ferme de Bourran is our absolute favorite place to stay! The rooms are spacious, clean, recently updated, and comfortable. The beds are massive and especially comfortable. The sheets are soft... and there are plenty of pillows. We have two young children (aged 18 months and 3 years) so going out for dinner is usually difficult. As a result, we often order room service... the butternut soup is our favorite... along with the vegetable tajine. The kids love it too! The breakfast is a must! The portions are endless... breads and pastries, jams, honey, cereal, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice, hot chocolate, cafe au lait.. and you have the option of ordering cheese and meats (though we're not really not into that). The only complaint we have is that the bathroom counter corner is really sharp, which can be an issue with the little kids... you just really need to watch them when in the bathroom as the little ones' heads are perfectly in line with the counter. We haven't had any issues at this point, but mainly because we are especially careful. Other than that, the staff is exceptionally friendly and speak excellent English if necessary. They know the area well and can provide suggestions for things to do in the area.
being transit stop we chose this hotel because it was not in the centre of rodez, the hotel itself looked little sterile in design, the carpark and surrounds looked little unkept, having said that we could not fault the room, huge in size ,clean, good views, massive bathroom, pleasant staff and about 2 minute walk to a great pub with good food and drinks at reasonable prices, recommend it
This was a very comfortable hotel which is somewhat oddly situated some distance from the city centre. However, this is not a disadvantage in that it is very quiet and there are a couple of excellent restaurants close by. The bathroom was excellent with a great shower and separate bath. The room was a good size but being under the roof so with sloping ceilings did mean the occasional bingle for my very tall husband. There was only one window in the room we had but it had lovely views. Two concerns were the expensive breakfast (€13) for a basic continental breakfast and the few staff - there only ever seemed to be one person there at a time both serving breakfast and acting as receptionist. When there were several people checking out and we were also trying to get breakfast this was a bit irritating.
After an overnight ferry trip from Corsica and a drive from Marseille it was a pleasure to find such a quiet place to rest for a couple of days. The rooms are much larger than most we have encountered accross France and are beautifully appointed with a large comfortable bed, a small table and chairs and a lounge chair as well as a sideboard where you have tea and coffee making facilities and which also contains the minibar fridge. The bathroom is also quite large with a separate bath and large shower and the toilet is also separate which is a bonus. The room is tastefully decorated and bright and airy although the large window needs to remain closed at night because of the insects. Whilst the hotel is located on the fringe of the town away from the hussle and bussle it is within easy walking distance of a number of restaurants catering for all tastes and budgets. There is also a lovely garden area where you can sit and relax at the end of the day, or alternatively you can take a short walk to a great little pub for cold beer or a glass of wine. The location of the hotel is also within a moderate walking distance of the old town which has lots of character and is well worth a visit. Apart from the historic remnants in the old town there is excellent shopping and many fine restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a coffee or a snack. A lunch at the museum restaurant is also worth a try, but get there early as it gets very busy. Would definately recommend this as the place to stay in Rodez.
