Comfortable bedroom with new fittings and good bathrooms. The exterior of the building is interesting. Very thin towels. The interior of the hotel is let down by its very gloomy decorating, dark corridors with lights that switch off too quickly and exude a musty smell, not helped by the very brown ceilings. The breakfast room was sterile along with the experience. We ate out. Indifferent service. Shame, it could be lovely.
Stayed two nights in corner room, with one window looking at the mountain with sheep and the other looking down at the courtyard. ate at the hotel, paying for the number of courses you choose w/lovely presentations, but expensive. Close in the city sights. breakfast was 14 E/person, opted to have coffee at a café and pastry at the backery
The Les Ursulines is an older hotel but has charm and a good location. Our room was ok it had a fantastic view overlooking the garden and to the Monts De Morvan. Hotel is very close to the Cathedral and you can walk to the center of town and have a drink and meal. The staff were professional and helpful the highlight for us was having dinner in the Chapel.
Hotel Les Urselines overhangs the old city Roman ramparts and features a spectacular view of the Monts Du Morvan. We stayed at a junior suite with air conditioning and beautiful bathroom overlooking the most fantastic view. Every morning we could see sheeps feeding on this emerald green hills. The hotel is walking distance to the town center and to the most delicious restaurants. Autun is right in the middle of the Burgundy region and was easy to drive to Dijon, Vezelay and to the Morvan Regional Park. This is the perfect place for business or vacation if you are looking for nature, quiet and beautiful settings.
This place is has been but it is the best hotel you can find in Autun itself . Our room was recently refurbished but a lot of places around the hotel have not been and therefore through you back in 1980. The service is courteous and the dinner was nice. breakfast could have been better.
I was there with some friends for a family wedding, the breakfast was poor, the windows into the rooms are very small, and the managing director (owner) is very arrogant ! For me this guy need to quit this job... This hotel is not a four star, it's a three stars...
This hotel has an excelent location if you wish to visit Autun. In easy walking distance of the ancient center with its quaint streets and a beautiful cathedral, The service is extreemely friendly and the old prperty has a beautiful view, all at a reasonable price. The no-nonsence policy, taht internet and price at the property are the same is very refreshing! The Restaurant wass fully booked, so we could not try it. We did arrive late.
I have stayed at Les Ursulines on several occasions and have always found the staff and service first class. The rooms I have stayed in are very clean and quiet. The restaurant is excellent. I look forward to future visits.
Breaking our journey at Autun, we had no idea what to expect. Les Ursulines is undergoing renovation and so is a bit mixed. The hotel is pretty average really - definitely not luxury yet. The staff were great, the room was ok, the breakfast was generous and ok. No shower which was disappointing - just a hand set over a bath. The bathrooms could do with upgrading if they are going to call it luxury - BUT there were bathrobes which were welcome.
Positives : The staff of the hotel, the food in the restaurant Negatives: The room (111) was very basic and decor very tired High parking charges for the garage but limited street parking Only one cup but double room. Double bed was in fact two twins pushed together Breakfast was a big disappointment - bacon overcooked, scrambled eggs inedible, limited fruit The hotel boasts 4 stars which I don't believe it merits. The room and meal deal was relatively expensive and definately not value for money. A big disappointment.
