Our honeymoon stay at The Island on Lake Travis was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, quiet, and incredibly relaxing, exactly what me and Taylor needed after our wedding.Our private villa was beautiful, comfortable, and had the most amazing view overlooking the water from our private patio. Waking up each morning with coffee in hand while enjoying the calm lake views was honestly one of our favorite parts of the trip.One of the most special experiences was the wildlife, and great hiking trails. Every morning, deer would walk right up to our car window, and we loved getting to feed them and watch them up close. It made the entire stay feel even more magical and unique.If you are looking for a romantic, peaceful getaway with beautiful scenery and a relaxing atmosphere, we highly recommend this place. We made memories here that we will never forget.

This was our 7th year in a row celebrating our anniversary weekend at The Island. We've stayed in a different unit each time and I have to say that this one was the best view by far. The view from the bedroom is exactly as shown in the pictures and it was such an awesome way to wake up. Diana (host) was very communicative--but not more than necessary. Check in was smooth and easy--the instructions given to locate the parking space and the unit itself were perfect.The unit has everything one needs...and then some (she had an air fryer in there, y'all). It is very obvious that it matters to Diana that folks have as much as possible available to them so that they don't have to leave to purchase supplemental things or have a lesser experience by just doing without.I think the most impressive thing to us were the labels. Nearly everything in the unit is labeled--either to help you know what it is, or with a note to help navigate. Everything from, "here's how to work the hot tub when you get down there" to "the throw blankets are in ____ closet". I would have never placed labels on my wishlist for these kinds of stays, but it made things so much easier than I'd have realized. And mostly, it just underscored that feeling (which we felt in every single way) of intentionality and care. Thanks so much Diana--you just might make us repeat a unit, which we've never done before!

Only one pool area was open. We did enjoy the hot tub in the evenings. The closet area was a little dusty but overall the place was clean. Unfortunately, we had to spend all of Friday April 17th in the ER so we didn’t get to enjoy the property half of our visit. One suggestion is to have ER directions posted in case of emergencies. We were scrambling to find the closest place.

The condo unit itself was really great. Clean and simple, well stocked and the best patio view of the lake. The island building itself needs some major attention and renovation. The pool is not heated and felt like a cold plunge. Couldn’t use. The hot tubs looked dirty and unsafe. The restaurant was 2 sweet busy young “waitresses” encouraging you to order through the app, then wait almost an hour for food that is just reheated. Our pizza tasted like it was days old but just reheated. Decent bar drinks. So much potential wasted with one of the better Lake views in the area.
The best part was sitting on the patio of the condo. Worth it for that alone, just bring your own food ☺️

Diana was the perfect hostess. The property was exactly as described. The amenities such as the shop for paddle boards and other rentals, the fitness center and pool were all very easy to navigate and very clean and well maintained. The balcony was spacious and sits directly overlooking the pool and lake. We picked up groceries on the way in, since options on the island are a little limited. But driving up from north Houston, it was the perfect getaway within 3 hours, and entering the property gates it was easy to feel someplace else entirely. And yes, the deer really roam around just like the pictures. I hope I'll be able to leave a separate review for the gift shop, but if not, I have to say that Heather and Shane made renting equipment such a smooth and easy process. This was truly the most pleasant short getaway I've experienced in a long time.

My husband and I booked a 3-night stay for our 14th wedding anniversary, and we had such a wonderful (and relaxing!) stay. The weather turned out a little gloomy/rainy, but we booked some services at the on-site spa. This villa is right on the water, and we loved drinking coffee on the private balcony. There’s also a restaurant just a few doors down. And the deer here are adorable and fearless. We spent feeding them fruit. It’s also close to The Lucky Rabbit (Bingo night was fun!), a large wildlife refuge for hiking, wineries, and so much more. Diana is a wonderful host, and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

View from the balcony was beautiful, comfortable bed, the location was great. A huge reason we stayed was because of the hot tubs, and both of them were not working, so that was disappointing. The Wi-Fi was also really slow, but other than that, everything was perfect.
