This is probably the worst place to stay in all of this part of Alaska for AURORA viewing in winter. The parking lot is lit up brighter than a baseball stadium! You’d have to walk 1/2 mile away to take a photo. And you call this the Aurora lodge??!!? Turn down the damn lights! I dont need daylight to make it to the front door! Dont stay here for Northern Lights! In fact, stay At Leeeast a mile down the road. It ruins the dark sky in the whole area. Otherwise, it’s a nice place. For summer…

Everything was very clean. Staff was friendly and informative. We had a party of seven staying in fou4 rooms. We stayed for a single night after our cruise before spending a day visiting Denali then we moved on to Fairbanks. Only negative was finding the driveway was tricky in the dark when we came back from dinner. We drove past it and had to make a U-turn.

I stayed at the Aurora Denali Lodge for business in the middle of winter (December). The staff was courteous and clear with instructions. The room was clean and spacious. There weren't a lot of dining options, but the room had a fridge and microwave so I could get meals from the grocery store and prepare them in the room. They even have power outlets in the parking lot to plug in the engine heaters for the -20 degree overnight temperatures. Even in that cold, the room temperature was pleasant. Overall, the perfect place for me to stay for this trip.

We had a nice stay in early December! We had a nice, big room with a good-sized TV with Netflix, a sofa bed, and a kitchenette/table. The room did not get cold, despite the crazy temps in December, but the warmth of the room didn't dissipate either (so it was a little stuffy). My husband loved that there was a box fan for the white noise and the air circulation. It's conveniently located near a gas station and a grocery store, so it was easy to get supplies and snacks. The front desk staff was really friendly too!
