We wish to inform you all about a possible scam by this b&b (La Villa Antalya). They called us the day before our reservation to inform us that due to flooding issues (though it hadn't rained for days, we checked) that they could not fulfill our booking but proposed an alternative with the same amenities and same price. As we didn't have any time to look for an alternative we were more or less forced to accept but when we arrived the "B&B" turned out to be a guestroom in the cellar of a private home (résidence d'Harancourt, 13 à EU)(so no B&B hence no taxes, booking costs etc.) with outdated decoration, an old bed with a duvet but no slipsheet around it, a pillow cover so old it had holes, no wardrobe or anything else to put clothes on or in and of course no tv. The bathroom was outside the room with the same outdated decoration and is normally shared but we were "lucky" as the second room in the cellar was not taken at the moment. We talked with the proprietor and it would seem that the owner of La Villa Antalya does this quite frequently and instructs our "B&B" proprietor to also charge 85€ of which she has to give 20€ as so called booking.com costs to La Villa Antalya.
We came here for only one night with friends. We were welcomed warmly and taken to our rooms. They were decorated with a sense of detail and airy. Everything was there what was needed. So I do not really understand all the negative reactions. We also had a very good breakfast taking in consideration that in France they do not have the habit of taking an elaborate morning meal. But there was really everything we could wish for. Our hostess was also very nice. She was happy we could speak French and she confided that she was taking English lessons to be able to talk and understand all of her guests better. Anyway our friends and we ourselves would definitely book this B&B again!
I would entirely agree with the comments made by Malcolm DL in another review. It is a comfortable B&B in a pleasant location which is good for visiting lots of places. The owner is friendly and welcoming and our room was pleasant and light. However there is little choice at breakfast and the bread provided (same style baguette every day) although fresh, was heavy and chewy. Also needed more variety of cereals and some fresh fruit. Also the room was cleaned only every other day. Would still recommend and overall reasonable value for money, but some things could be better.
We stayed in the Zen room and were with 3 adults and 1 child of 10 years old. The room was excellent: very spacious (I think you can even add a 5th bed and still have enough space!), comfortable and nicely decorated. Some nice détails were the fridge in the room, the rolling shutters which make the room completely dark, the sitting corner with boiler to make yourself a cup of tea/coffee, the toilet separate from the bathroom, the DVD's you can use in the TV in your room. The only thing we missed was a big closet for our clothes. There are 2 smaller closets but you can only put your clothes folded in them. And in the morning you hear the other guests in the breakfast room downstairs. It didn't bother us because we were awake but if you like to sleep a little bit longer than 8:30 this can be annoying.
Mme Vion was very helpful and friendly. The decor and setting of the property was very nice and well maintained. The family room upstairs where we stayed was easily big enough for 2 adults and 2 small children, but we did find it was only cleaned superficially....there was a fair bit of dust behind and under beds and units, and on the rug. After reading some good reviews about the breakfast we were quite disappointed....it was very bread heavy with no fresh fruit for the 2 days we were there, no eggs and no toaster to toast the bread. Luckily we were on our own in the dining room because it is tiny for the number of guests staying at the Gites....8 seats around a table barely big enough for 6. Despite these criticisms we would still recommend to others, in large part due to the warmth and friendliness of Mme Vion, but it was a little over-priced at €129 per night given the very average breakfast.
found the b&b down an unnamed road which was a farm track. the accomodation was superb very highspeck and modern and clean. the house itself is in a beautiful setting and a nice stroll down to the beach. ault itself is quite a walk though. the owner is a nice lady and very friendly but did.nt speak any english but we got by. the breakfast was lovely and plentiful fresh products. limited restaurants around and boise de cise restaurant is very expensive for the food you get.
this B&B was modern, well equipped and situated in the small hamlet of Bois De Cise. very easy to find straight off the main 940 road, and the B&B is signposted. some of the rooms have fridge's, but ours didn't, which was a shame as we were there for 4 days, but we used the one in the breakfast room. the bed was very comfortable, power shower excellent and the colour scheme very relaxing! we had a small balcony which was ideal for sitting out in the evenings with some tapas and a bottle of wine! there was tea making in the room, and a hair drier. breakfast is continental, and it was ok. there is only one table for two, and everybody else sits at the big table. most other guests were French while we were there, and just one other English couple. a couple of miles further on the 940, there is a business park with a supermarket, Mc D's, restaurant, petrol and other small shops. This B&B was the perfect base to travel and explore this region of Picardie. Within a few miles there is Valery sur somme, le crotoy, and mers les bains, creil and Dieppe. there is a pub on the main road at the turning of bois de cise, we had delicious moule and frittes! it was dish of the day for 10 euro's! madame Pascale who owns the B&B doesn't speak English, so you will need a smattering to get you by! I thought I had a smattering, but found I only have a smat!!! The garden has loungers and chairs and is perfect when you've had a day out walking.
Stayed at this delightful B&B on the way home from Paris. Pascale, the lovely lady who owns the B&B, is so friendly and even although our French and her English was not too good we managed to have some really good (and funny) conversations! The house is gorgeous, we had the large family room in the loft with exposed beams and very nice decor. The rooms are immaculate and all brightly decorated with quality furniture and fittings. The garden matches the house - it was beautiful and very nice to look out on while we ate our breakfast. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with their stay here - it's perfect!
