My stay in the property was going well until about five days before I was due to leave. I had issues with some deliveries I had ordered on Amazon. The first package was delivered to the door of the apartment, that was uneventful. Then the nightmare began. The host wasn't really helpful on retrieving my deliveries that had been left in the package room. He first said he was trying to contact his neighbour to help me. This proved unsuccessful. When I asked for details of this neighbour he refused to elaborate. Frustrated I went to the front office after two days to see what could be done. It was then that I discovered that the property owner was under eviction and I could have found my things in the streets! The host was also in breach of rules about short-lets and apparently owed a substantial amount of money. The people in the front office were very nice but I had to keep close to the property to ensure anything untoward did not happen. This is the first time I have used Vrbo and I am shocked at this experience. More diligent checks should have been done. The last three days of my stay was one of trepidation about imminent eviction!! My vacation was thoroughly ruined as I could not leave the apartment for too long for fear of threatened action.
