One night stay and expecting an 'ok' room for a B&B but got a room good enough for the best of hotels. Location was perfect and the breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was only magnificent. The welcome, onsite parking and service was top notch.

Far exceeded my expectations. Clean and modern rooms with everything you need. They upgraded our room upon arrival. Larger room at front of building with three windows looking out. The treats left in room were the sweetest touch. Had dinner and breakfast with them. Food was amazing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed here for two nights with my sister and my niece. Room was spacious with double bed and two single beds ( I claimed the double 🤣). The beds were so so comfy. The little treats to when you arrive are a lovely touch. We sent for breakfast and dinner both nights and to say the food was amazing with a great choice. But oh those deserts so hard to choose just one. The staff were so nice and friendly and always smiling. I cant wait to come back. Great value for money too. If I had one little complaint it would be that there might be more ventilation in the bathroom. The window doesn't open and yes there is a fan but doesn't seem strong enough. My niece left her night dress on the back of the door and it felt damp that night. The wall where the window is was very wet to the touch with condensation. It's not a major issue didnt spoil the stay either believe me, just something to maybe check in to. However as Arnie would say I'll be back. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, we only got to enjoy one night at this wonderful establishment. Had I known how awesome Athenry is, we'd have stayed longer! I had booked for seven people, one double, one triple, and one twin. The twin was on the third floor but because one of our companions has mobility issues, he needed a ground floor room (which was set up as a double). I neglected to mention this when booking but it was remedied quickly by Scott. He separated the bed making it a twin room and got new sheets without complaint. Over the top friendly and accommodating!! Beds were incredibly comfortable and the Lodge is tastefully decorated. Feels more like staying at a friends house than a hotel! We ate dinner in the restaurant which was absolutely outstanding and reasonable. Breakfast was included and there was a wide variety of offerings. There is also a pastry and coffee shop to further tempt you. Located right in the middle of town. Tight getting into the car park butnot impossibleEasy access to the friary, the castle, and many pubs. Spent a fab evening at Dowlings Pub listening to Paddy Jordan. One of the best nights of our 10 day trip!! Incredibly friendly town! This is the pace to stay!

Stopped here for the night on drive back to Dublin and certainly was worth the stop. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff extremely friendly. Breakfast was included and can't complain about the meal Would def stay if visiting again

Just returned from a 10-day stay in the best B&B I've found yet in Ireland--The Lodge @ The Old Barracks in Athenry. Over the top service--breakfast every morning in the fabulous restaurant across the street owned by the same people. Can not say enough good things about the facility (comfy beds, sparkling clean and new), the people (outstanding customer service--over the top) and the food (gourmet dishes and fresh baked goodies served right across the street)! Athenry is a medieval town with town wall, Castle, a priory and 13th century Anglo-Norman street-plan--enough interesting history to spend at least a day or two just exploring the town. Train into Galway City (15--20 min.) from a quaint/gorgeous local station just blocks away. Centrally located for ease in driving to so many other destinations near-by. Highly recommend--we will def be staying there again!

Stayed in Athenry after the Galway Races. Nice little hotel with small but well designed rooms. No air conditioning if its a hot night. They left us chocolates from the shop across the street where you have breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I wonderful nights stay.

Our first place to stay in Ireland was here, and what a great choice it was. We were met by the manager/owner who was over at the bakery/cafe/restaurant next door and he was as friendly and welcoming as the rest of the people we met in Athenry. The rooms were modern and spacious and tastefully decorated. We had a plate of treats to greet us when we arrived (which I did not get chance to sample before my wife did.....) and had a wonderful nights sleep. Very highly recommended for a multitude of reasons.

We stayed as a couple and what a pleasant experience from the moment we stepped into the beautiful cafe. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The beautiful girl who showed us to our most fantastic room and super clean and modern bathroom. It didn't stop there as we had such a delicious breakfast with scrumptious brown bread. I was so impressed I purchased some along with scones to enjoy at home. When we were checking out we had the pleasure of meeting Daniele, a breath of fresh air. She insisted on driving us to the nearby hotel where we had our car as we had attended our friends wedding the previous day. We cant recommend this hotel highly enough and are already planning a return trip when we will have more time on our hands. Well done Scott Daniele and staff and continued success

Lovely rooms with extra comfy bed, across the road from the with onsite parking. Careful - the access is quite narrow. Breakfast is served in the Old Barracks, varied menu including goods freshly-baked goods that morning.
