Sheraton Asuncion Hotel4.5 out of 5.0

Let me start with the common things - Great location, near shopping malls - one right next to the hotel, and a second one perpendicular to the hotel. Rooms are very clean, and spacious, great amenities, and a terrace bar, with stunning views of Asuncion from the top. But all of the above could (Maybe) be found in many other nearby properties- with variations, I guess - what you wont find in any other hotel is the home away from home touch that the staff puts into the operations. I was blown away with the care and details to attention provided by their staff members. I want to acknowledged 2 of them- Luis, checked me in and not only with a great smile, but provided me with so much information about the area, anticipated my needs, and continued to make sure I felt welcomed - this was my first time at this hotel... then I got a little sick with a fever and all- not a good thing when traveling (business) I went to the lounge to get water and Carolina, who I have never met before, noted that I wasn't feeling well- her instinct prompted her to asked me if I needed help or anything... I told her, I didn't feel well, and what happened next blew my mind. She asked me if it was ok for her to offer me a ginger tea, with lime and honey- that it will help me feel better - I told her yes. well she said I will be right back. she went to the kitchen, got some ginger and limes - came back, wash it all, peeled the ginger and cut it into smaller pieces- made some tea and gave me some cut to take with me to my room and make more tea later... then the manager called me and asked me if I needed medical attention, they could assist with that.. I have no words to express how great it feels to know that in this property they treat you like a family member, you are not just a guest, or just a client spending the money, they have a human side of the business that I don't get to see in many hotels - I am not only appreciative of all the support and help, but also for the above and beyond assistance provided - before and after I got sick. This is the place to be if you are in Asuncion... No doubt...
In town for an international meeting. Two flights over 14 hours to get there - the airport is somewhat provincial - so needed a smooth check-in - got it, no sweat. Perhaps the most comfortable hotel mattress I've ever experienced: nine nights and each one brilliant. Location across from 'Shopping del Sol' plaza made fast food and general provisioning very easy. Local 'collectivo' buses go by and almost all will stop at the Mall (slow down at least), so getting around is easy and cheap. Taxis too on the street or the front will get one for you. More shopping next to the hotel, if that's your thing. We had one 'day off' and I spent that up on the rooftop sunning and swimming. There's a fine gym facility and the lobby breakfast is exceptional. Those eggs.... wow. Really attentive team who are rightfully proud of their business.
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the past fifteen years. It is getting a little tired and could use some renovation but remains clean, comfortable and classy. The hotel is well located to Asunción’s newest shopping center as well as its top older malls, and to the airport (without being too close and having plane traffic noise).
I stayed in Asuncion for more than a week and I was generally pleased with my stay there. I stayed in a room on the executive floor which was very spacious and comfortable. However my room had a very intense smell of smoke throughout my stay there that was getting worse every day. in addition the windows were locked so I could not get any fresh air. Other rooms in the hotel also smelled of smoke. The breakfast area is quire small for the size of the hotel. Staff were not very flexible in terms of late check out and early check in arrangements especially for guests staying for more than a week.
Stayed here for a business trip and the hotel comfortable and good location. With a mall across the street and many options to eat, and close to most sites. Plus rooftop offers a great view of the city and beautiful Paraguay sunsets.
I recently stayed at the hotel for 2 days and did not had a good experience. Room is outdated and had a very very disappointing experience with the internet. I stayed at room 508 and could not connect to the internet at all! They sent someone to bring a router (took a while though - the next day), but did not work. Since this was a business trip, I could not check my mails and utilize it for work. The sink is not deep enough and water splashes if you do not take care. The only good point is they have a friendly staff, however, I intend to come back next month and I will try another hotel.
This is a very comfortable hotel. Breakfast is of good quality and offers varied options. Although not large, the gym is sufficient for a good workout. Club level access offers breakfast and happy hour snacks and drinks. The rooftop pool is nice and the rooftop patio is a pleasant area to enjoy a drink and enjoy the fresh air. The rooms are of Sheraton quality and offer all the necessary amenities. I would suggest asking the staff to unlock the window in the room to allow for fresh air. The front desk staff are very helpful. They assisted me in making dinner reservations and airport transportation. And they tirelessly answered all my many questions. This hotel is not far from the airport, located in a newer (nicer) part of the city. There are two large shopping malls very close by that offer not only shopping, but many restaurant options as well. When in Asuncion again, I will certainly stay here.
Ladies and gentlemen if by any chance to come down to Paraguay at the Sheraton Asunción you have to go to the 10th floor at the rooftop and meet with Petra. What a wonderful experience in all the hotels that I have been In South American Petra is the greatest person I have ever met, her customer service and attention to detail was extraordinary. Her carisma and the way she looks to make everything the way you like makes her distinguish her self as a great asset to this hotel and the Sheraton chain of hotels. excelente job Petra you have great things coming to you. Good luck on your future endeavors.
Sheraton Asuncion is very well located, plenty of restaurants plus two of the best shopping malls are in the area (walking distance). The international airport is at short drive distance and the hotel offers a very efficient transportation service. Rooms are comfortable with decent wifi quality, cable tv and room service. Breakfast has a good mix and good quality. Overall the restaurant offers good service and food while menu is reduced (but you have excellent optipns at walking distance). Gym is small but you can find the basics needed for a couple of days.
The Sheraton Asuncion Hotel has a modern architecture and definitely offers a pleasant stay. To get my review to a 5, I would suggest improving the service on the rooftop bar. Had to wait a lot for a drink and a meal. Aside from that, it's great.
