Last weekend my parents decided to go to Asunción to visit my sister. Since I know well that THE Hotel Guaraní is very well located I booked the hotel for them. After two nights, at the lobby, the receptionist Bárbara ruins their trip by not giving the change at first. She denied giving such a small amount of money, yet MONEY. Later, my mom, who does not speak well Spanish, gives Bárbara a “chance” to give her HER change by giving small change so Bárbara could give the sum of money. Now, that woman couldn’t deny, so she throws away the money to my mom. A receptionist in a fancy, famous, expensive hotel with history denies giving change. A receptionist who is the first person to meet and see at the hotel. A receptionist who is the face of the hotel. DENIED GIVING CHANGE AND LATER THROWS THE MONEY TO THE VISITORS. Is that even possible? Bárbara, because of YOU this one star that I am giving is not worth it. I would give this one star just for the location, just because Bolsi and LidoBar are near.

I love this hotel, great and helpful staff, centrally located, the handicraft market is right in front, the historical district is nearby, everything is within walking distance. You may want to speak slowly as some hotel staff are not fluent in English, but they are all warm and welcome and trying to help you to have a pleasant stay.

The hotel is located in the center of downtown Asuncion, so it is pretty close to most of the interesting sites (there aren't a whole lot in the city). The room was a little small since the bed was too large for the room. The breakfast is definitely the best part of the hotel since there is a large variety of hot and cold food. The staff is also very friendly, but it would be helpful to know some Spanish since some of the front desk staff do not speak much English. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the architecture of the building blocks nice views of the city. In addition, the walls are somewhat thin since I could hear people having sex in the next door room. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay here, and I would definitely stay here again.

I went with high expectations, and I leaved a bit disappointed. Just arrived, couldn’t find any help to direct me where to park my car, I left it and walked to the front desk for directions. Car park is just under the lobby, but there isn’t connection between parking areas and lobby (no stair, no elevator), you have to climb the cars entrance with your luggage hopping no one is coming in. No much to say about the room, it was too small. On the other hand, front desk staff was very helpful as well as restaurant staff. Hotel Guarani is not my first choice in Asuncion.

A couple of years ago, it used to be an old hotel, I said to my self, well, i ll give it a try. And It was great! Big and nice rooms, totally renovated! The breakfast was perfect, and the location couldn't been better.

This is my third stay here over the last few years and the service has definitely improved. Front desk staff are helpful and much friendlier than my past stays. I had originally requested a quiet room on both my reservation and when I checked in, but the room they put me in was above the new Hard Rock Cafe that recently opened in the hotel. The noise level was loud until 2 am when the cafe closed. The noise from the a/c in my room also was very loud so I was in a bad situation. The next morning, I explained the situation and they moved me to a larger room on the other side of the building which was much more quiet. The facilities are a bit old but kept very clean. Room was also old but clean and functional. Pool was very clean and well kept. Wi-fi was slow. Breakfast buffet was acceptable, with just two hot food options. I asked for an omelette but they said no. Location is central, walking distance to the few tourist attractions in Asuncion. I'll stay here again next time I return.

Hotel Guarani in Asuncion, Paraguay is clearly a hotel from a time gone-by but the location places it near the city's center and historical places. The hotel is a nice and well-kept property with very professional, friendly and attentive staff. Unfortunately, the elevator, hallways or reception had a distinctive unwavering cigarette smoke odour. It was hard to ignore and very unpleasant for a non-smoker like myself. The breakfast buffet provided a wide range of delicious, fresh choices. The free WI-FI at the hotel was relatively reliable. It is a good choice for the business traveler.

It is a very nice hotel in the middle of the city. You can walk around and visit so many points of interest. If you a need a taxi or to catch a bus, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel where you can see tons of bus lines. Breakfast delicious! The rooms are very nice and silent. The swiming pool very beautiful. It is a great suggestion!

My second time in this hotel. Breakfast keeps being very good and generous. Staff is extremely nice and helpful: the last day, the gave us towels to take a shower in the swimming pool area, since our flight was at midnight. My room was small, but clean and adequate. The only problem is the extreme noise of the air conditioning; it seems that you are sleeping in the wing of an airplane with the engines on. Common areas need a revamping since they start looking older and oversused.

stay/estadia 2016/10/21 - 2016/10/30 cuartos limpios y bonitos , buen servico, vista espectacular. Please consider that the room receive a lot of noise from the street, especially from the Hard Rock Cafe wich is located in the same building, first floor. We spent a horrible night in our room with noise at night club level ALL NIGHT. Impossible to sleep at all we had a hard time even having a conversation. I therefore recommend the hotel to people who spend the night partying and not being in the room anyways during nighttime. Traumatized we would have expected something like : We will give your a refund for not bering able to sleep in our room, but we only got a sober : We are very sorry
