The cottage

"Solhi", meaning "where the sun is (always) hiding is a charming, personally furnished wooden summer house with WiFi, a large garden of about 1000 sqm, and several terraces where both sun and shade invite relaxation. The interior combines original elements with modern conveniences.



The house features a spacious living room with skylights, wood-burning stove, and dining area. Three rooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements for max. 4 adults and 2 children under 150 cm: a children's room with a bunk bed, a bedroom with a double bed 180x200 cm, and another bedroom with two 80x200 cm single beds, one of which can be moved to the children's room instead of the desk. The kitchen and bathroom are being renovated in January 2026; photos to follow.

The large garden and small children's annex offer space for play and relaxation. Children can enjoy toys, board games, and books in both Danish and German. The TV has streaming apps, for which you need your own logins.



Solhi is a completely non-smoking house and offers facilities like free parking, fire pit, grill, high chair, and travel crib (by agreement), sound system, and TV. The heat pump from 2025 provides good indoor climate and low electricity costs.



With its blend of tranquility, nature experiences, culture, and proximity to the city, Solhi is the perfect base for an unforgettable vacation not far from the Baltic Sea and the beach in Odsherred.



The Area

Discover Odsherred and Høve Strand – a unique scenic area along Sejerø Bay with wide, child-friendly sandy beaches, peaceful forests, and ice age-formed hills. Høve Strand offers low dunes, good swimming conditions, and lovely hiking and cycling routes, perfect for calm relaxation and active outdoor experiences. The area is known for its beautiful nature and rich wildlife, including frequent visits from curious deer in the summer house's large garden. Sejerø Bay's calm waters invite kayaking, windsurfing, and fishing, and you can enjoy a cold beer and a burger at Lillero after a day at the beach.



Nearby Attractions

The location is ideal with just about 1 hour's drive to Copenhagen, about 40 minutes to Roskilde, and about 2.5 hours to Aarhus (by ferry), making it easy to combine vacation in peaceful natural surroundings with day trips to surrounding attractions such as Sommerland Sjælland, Sagnlandet Lejre, Andelslandsbyen Nyvang, Viking Ship Museum, and all city attractions. In summer months, there's also Vig Flea and Craft Market every Wednesday and Saturday for great bargains. You can buy meat and eggs at a nearby farm shop where kids can watch chickens and pet rabbits, and at a visitor farm in Høve, you can ride ponies and pet goats. Treat yourself to dinner at gourmet restaurant Formel B's summer pop-up Lille B within walking distance (25 minutes). Other gourmet experiences: Dragsholm Slot and Restaurant MOTA in Anneberg Kulturpark are about 20 minutes' drive away. Note: Not for commercial rental.
