Ajia Hotel - Special Class5.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is an historic Ottoman Yali right on the Bosphorus in Kanlıca. The location is just lovely. The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings and windows, the bed was pretty comfortable. The jacuzzi was a plus which functioned pretty good. We also enjoyed having our breakfast by the sea. The only downside was the non-functioning WiFi and very outdated CD-player & Radio. I would have expected an updated smart phone deck or etc ( not that I'm keen on technology , that CD player just didn't match the room). If you want to have a romantic weekend with Bosphorus view this hotel is a pretty good one. Hotel doesn't have a SPA but they do organise a massage session in your room if you ask in advance. I
We stayed at this hotel with family twice. Both times they had a wedding in their outdoor area so we couldn't access it as it was closed and very noisy till late at night. The rooms are not that nice unless you book the ones facing the Bosphorus with a balcony, then you can enjoy the view and feeling very close to the water. Service is generally slow and hotel corridors are often messy with trays/trollies lying around. The food is acceptable, nothing special. All in all, as a guest you don't feel like you're staying in a luxurious hotel. Theres not much you take back with you than some nice views which are available at other 5 star hotels on the Bosphorus charging similar rates with better service and more facilities.
From the moment our car was swiftly parked by the valet service, through selflessly kind reception staff to the designer room with the bosphorus view, everything was glorious. We spent the afternoon in the restaurant patio, listening to jazz bossanova and watching the ships go by. It's possibly the smoothest memory from what otherwise is a very busy and hectic city. I recommend the A'jia without a single doubt!
We went to have just a coffee next to the breeze. Amazing location but they do not know what "café freddo" means . They brought cafe Americano on ice. Unacceptable for such a place. You have to visit this place even for the access to Bosphorus. Boats are crossing in front of you.. almost you may touch them
Ajia hotel is not very big and not expected large but very unique and special. You can spend very classy and unforgetable nights and dinners. Wonderfull bosphorus view welcomes you first and then you cannot look anything else.
We were there for a wedding, which took place outside the hotel with their breathtaking view. The staff was very kind, and proactive. The food was amazing though we also loved to eat a bit everywhere in Taksim. The rooms were huge clean and OH SO comfortable. Would go back in a second !
My husband and I travelled over to Istanbul for my brother in laws wedding. We were only in the hotel for an afternoon and evening, but our experience was very positive. Our room was immaculate, the bed plenty large enough and very comfortable. Room service was prompt, and the omlette I ordered was tasty. The wedding meal was awesome and the views over the Bosporous were delightful. An exotic weekend away full of beautiful memories.
The Hotel has a great potential but needs to be refreshed. She staff is very friendly and the location blows you away. If the location would be so n ice I would gove a star less I would recommend this place for a romantic stay in Istambul. Thank again
This hotel is amazing! Went there for friends wedding, I really can recommend this hotel if you want to spoil your self. Beautiful individual quality rooms, and the stunning view to Bosphorous is indescribable, the service is absolutely 5 stars service. Every employe think and act serviceminded. We enjoyed every minute.
Expected a far better experience at this hotel that occupies a most beautiful spot right by the bosphorous. First, hotel interior is below average, at best a 4 star look and feel. Poor reception/lobby area that has no character whatsoever. The room is large and the bathroom is huge but again lack style and look more like a decent motel by the highway or part of a mass hotel chain. Room amenities are poor: no slippers, no turndown service, no complimentary water bottle. A very industrial feel and nothing related to the glamour of the building itself - a beautiful mansion by the water. The water in the bathroom and shower barely reaches there and had to let it run for 5 minutes before the brown rust in the pipes clears out.. It looked red.. Wifi never worked and no one from reception picked up the phone to help. Staff is doing their best: courteous and kind but they obviously lack experience and are not trained to provide professional 5 star service. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant (table by the window right by the water! Superb) came on a wooden worn out tray, not any different than what you get in any typical 3 or 4 star hotel in turkey with very average quality food that is poorly presented. Great property that certainly needs different management to give it justice..for the price, istanbul offers much better options.
