I was here for Soul Beach Music Festival and checked out of Renaissance Resort and stayed here 1 night due to flight issues...of course there's no comparison...but I could come back to Aruba and very well stay here...it's so easy and quick to get to everything...my room was like a one bedroom apartment overlooking the pool. It's great if you're traveling with children. Jackson, the manager was very cool.

They spun me a line of bs and gave me a dirty outdated room ...the pictures I saw were completely different than the room I was given..when my friend asked the cleaning lady to get a blood stain out of the bathroom she said it wouldn't come off..when I told the front desk lady reshma she didn't care

Average hotel needs updating especially with many other hotels competing. Close to Eagle Beach Nice pools. Most staff helpful and friendly.

Everything was very nice at Tropicana. Staff. Was very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms were updated and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this resort

The hotel was great. I had paid for a 1 bedroom suite and when we checked in they gave me a comp upgrade to a 2 bedroom. The lobby was lovely and there is a tat/pharma/odds and ends store in the lobby and a Baskin Robbins. There is a bar lounge in the courtyard, towel hut, pool, and person size chess and checkers. The people were very nice and you were immediately shuttled to concierge who was there to hawk some extras before giving up the wifi password. The room was very clean and big! All the basics in the kitchen and a cute little balcony that overlooked the courtyard. King sized bed in one room and two twins in the other. Crisp white linens and separate climate control for the two bedrooms. Both rooms had their own bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs. There are only three critiques that I can think of. First, the king bed was very uncomfortable. Inner spring and cheap, but a good long day of snorkeling and you hardly notice. Second, and this I thought was the worst, the wifi was only in the lobby and courtyard. Sitting on the balcony at night, it was usually fine, but there was never a signal in the morning when we were trying to get directions and stuff to head out and never a signal inside the room, even by a window. For the price, there should be wifi in the rooms. Lastly, the hotel did not look on the beach, but was behind another. It was a mere block walk to the beach, which was beautiful and plenty of amenities like chairs, loungers, restaurant, etc. Didn't bother me.

We love it... our room was really a mini apartment, the room was huge and a kitchen/ dinning space with living room... this was for a kings size bedroom... the beach is close by within walking distances... staff and the people are friendly and helpful.. Love it

It is definitely outdated and staff could be more courteous and friendly. That being said, the location is two blocks from eagle beach and two blocks from a large supermarket. Units are well equipped with kitchen utensils. If you have a room near the bikini bar be prepared for music with way too much base in the early evening. Very child friendly pools and very little to offer for adult activities. You want a relatively inexpensive place that has a full kitchen and is clean - The Tropicana is for you. Oh nice grills to barbecue on and coin operated laundry. Food just so so

We Stayed at the end of April into May and we were very satisfied with this hotel as an alternative to all inclu, We booked here because They have a big pool & they have a GYM which is important to us & they a gym is hard to find in the smaller hotels! There are 2 nice pools, one with a waterfall & if you have older children, the other pool has an incredible water slide they will love! I do most of my cooking when we go away, & they had everything I needed to work with. The grocery store is across the street, but you do have to walk a ways to the crosswalk, as it is dangerous, so if you are going to buy a lot, take a cab back , Approx 6-$7:00, but worth it. They have buses that run up & down the main strip. We did not need to rent a car because the beach was so close, & it is a great location,& we will return if the price is right, but next time we will rent a car, to see more of the island.

THE RESORT ITSELF IS OLD AND NASTY THERES NO WIFI IN THE ROOM ONLY IN THE LOBBY THE STAFF IS SO FRIENDLY THEY TRY TO HELP YOU SO MUCH THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THERE RIGHT NEXT TO EAGLE BEACH TOP 2 BEACH IN THE WORLD

I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling on a budget and just wants to stay somewhere that is clean, well kept, and close to all. Stayed here recently for 5 days was upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite. every single employee at this resort is sweet and helpful. Gorgeous water fall and swim up bar pool with happy hours. Smack in the middle of the resort is a out door tiki restaurant and bar delicious food. I loved the casino made some extra money on black jack :) Great for families with children, and couples. Not so much of a single scene here if you are single better off looking for a hotel out in Palm beach. To get to the beach is a 8 minute walk have to walk through the La Cabana Beach Hotel to get directly to the gorgeous beach. We had breakfast and lunch a few times at the La Cabana Beach restaurant. We BBQ'd at our hotel Tropicana had an amazing time needs to be rated a 4.5 start resort!

Didn't like that the room was cold all the time even when i set it but the staff kept changing it back to 63

There isn't a comment that I would like to submit. Thank you!

We were originally going to stay at a 4 star condo for over a $1000.00 more for the wk. but decided last minute to change and glad we did!. We traveled with our 19 and 20 yr old children and even though the condos were outdated, they were clean and comfortable. The beach is a very short walk through the La Cabana Resort across from the Tropicana. I believe they were originally part of each other in the past but have now separated. Even so they allow you to walk right through their Resort and you also have reserved beach chairs on the beach along with them! The staff was very friendly and if I had to complain about 1 thing it would be that they need bartenders who know how to make more than just a couple of drinks. Overall I would recommend the Tropicana if you are looking for a non congested laid back vacation with beautiful beach!!

Perfect location for an inexpensive stay on the best beach in Aruba. Eagle beach just 200 yards away and an even shorter walk to the major supermarket on the island.

I THINK THE HOTEL WOULD BE OK IF YOU HAD A ROOM THAT WAS UPGRADED. OUR WASN'T! THE OTHER ISSUE THAT YOU SHOULD REALIZE IS THAT YOU HAVE TO GO ACROSS THE PARKING LOT AND THROUGH THE NEXT HOTEL AND THEIR SWIMMING POOL AREA THEN CROSS THE ROAD TO GET TO THE BEACH!

Unfortunately, all of the rooms are not renovated. The rooms that weren't renovated like mine were very old and worn including low water pressure in the teal bathtub/shower. The food at the pizza place was aweful. It is also behind la cabana resort- not on the beach. Only plus was waking distance to super food.

They are not patient, not explaining things clearly and very rude to customers.

When I booked on line, it was hard to tell where was a good location from maps. Tropicana was out a bit (hence cheaper?) We did take a bus tour around 1/2 the island & did a snorkel adventure w/ lunch. They were fun. If we didn't do that, I would had to try to get place by bus or cab or possibly rent a car. I really wished the hotel offered wifi in every room w/out an extra charge. I had to go down 4 flights every time I wanted to go on line. The restaurant is ok? To get pizza to the room would have been $27.00, kind of high. I wanted to try the Driftwood Restaurant but we were there @ 2:30 & it didn't open until 5. Aruba was nice to visit (a little humid) & I would recommend it.

Overall a good experience, large one bedroom apartment, a little bit dated. Friendly personnel.

Paid extra for a deluxe room and called Tropicana to verify my reservations were for one of their remodeled rooms (have stayed here before). The staff confirmed that my reservation would be a remodeled room. Upon check in, it was not a remodeled nor even an upgraded room. This room was is disrepair, old, and worn. Cabinets were chipped as were the countertops in the kitchen; chipped tile everywhere in the entire condo; drilled holes in the shower that had not been repaired; no washer and dryer as described; the sofa cushions would not fit on the sofa and kept pushing you off the sofa and was extremely uncomfortable; not bedspread/cover on the beds-just sheets. The housekeeping was good but the property was in disrepair. I spent an hour and half with the check in staff to get the room I was promised but to no avail. I did email the general manager and he had one of the other managers to contact me....they would give me a remodeled room if I paid them $40 per night! I did bargain with them (which I should not have had to do) and got it down to $20 per night but I should NOT have had to pay anything. It was NOT a pleasant stay. In the end, we did not change rooms because I did not feel I should have to pay them anything for the room I booked. Will NOT stay there again.
