This was our second and last trip to Hotel Riu Palace Antillas. Let me start by saying we brought nine people with us to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. We arrive before check in get checked in and was told our room was not ready which we understood and was told they would send us a text when it was ready. So off to get something to eat and have a drink and pool time. the rest of the group got their room and when I went back to the front desk to ask about ours still not ready back to the pool and at 4.30 I went back and when I ask it was ready yes it has been ready after I said maybe you might just want to move us to another room. So we get to the room to find only one towel and one washcloth so I call the front desk to ask for more and her answer was we will have you more on the way, so we unpack and head to join our friends at the pool. So after an hour or so we all decide we would go shower and head to dinner. When we get to the room still NO towels so I call again Reply we will have them right up Yes we shared towles this happened for three nights. The entertainment stall at the pool have No idea how to keep the crowd going playing the worst music ever. The staff in the buffet very unfriendly and never smiling. If it's that bad this might not be the job for you!! I will give a shout out to a couple of bartenders that were nice Freddy, Nelson,Louis. The last day our group decided to go next door to Riu Palace Friendly staff great time. Very disappointing place

Great area beautiful beach but and I mean but so where do I begin okay the restaurants are mediocre when you can get in especially the steakhouse they open 5:30 at 6:00 they stop taking guests and say there either all sold out or tables are reserved but you can’t make a reservation 🤔 the French restaurant has octopus on the menu but they never have it and told me there’s a problem with getting in from the ports meanwhile I went out of the resort and had no problem getting it at Patrizia of New York which is a ten minute walk from there. The buffet always has the same old tired stuff and try to have theme nights. I WILL SAY THE LOBBY BAR IS ON POINT WITH KENNY TAKING CARE OF YOU VERY WELL. Oh now some more negatives towels are not replaced they clean the rooms but do not replace the towels so you come off the beach having to call or go to the front desk asking for towels for some strange reason there is a person from housekeeping with a clipboard of room numbers that need towels this was strange to me. Especially when the rooms were serviced 4 hours before. Can I make a suggestion maybe setup a large cart in the middle of the floor so that housekeeping can just get whatever they at the time they clean the rooms. My opinion is that this resort is mismanaged would I stay again ahh no. Needs to be updated stay elsewhere you be happier. May I suggest Barcelo great spot with a lot of food options just across the street.

This property is located within walking distance of the beach, the area outside the hotel was under construction as well repair work on the property during our stay on the there and the building right next to it. Noisy throughout the start of the morning and pretty much the day! We had to request a room change and was meet with resistance!

From the moment we arrived at the Riu, the experience was underwhelming. I had booked and paid for an ocean view room, but was initially given the wrong one. In that first room, the shower heads didn’t work, the towel holder was being held up with tape, the air conditioning wasn’t functional, and there were no welcome amenities just two Hershey’s Kisses left on the bed. We were moved to another room the following day, but only found out it was ready by chance after returning from the beach despite being told we’d receive an email notification, which never came. While the second room was much better, service remained poor. Requests for towels, room service, or basic assistance were either denied or significantly delayed. The only restaurant we attempted to visit on the property left us deeply uncomfortable. The manager or owner was rude and dismissive, making both my girlfriend and me feel unwelcome. The interaction felt racially charged, and we chose to leave early as a result. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that did not match the price point. I left feeling like I had wasted a significant amount of money.

The hotel room was lovely and the dining options were good. However, the most popular option, the steak house, filled up quickly, and on one evening we were unable to obtain a table unless we were an Elite member. (Elite members can make reservations, etc.) Also, upon check-in the hotel staff could do a better job of explaining how to access the amenities, for example, water sports equipment, like rafts, snorkeling gear, etc. These resources were located between the two Rius (Antillas and Palace). We did not discover this location until the day before vacation ended. Also, the music was loud and thumping every afternoon until the pool closed at 7 p.m. Limited activities in the evening at the hotel itself, however, the hotel was close (walkable) to the nightlife area. There is an onsite casino and I guess that's considered an activity. We've been to Mexico several times and the all-inclusive properties have more nighttime activities. Lastly, the beach was lovely.

Steer clear, it’s an old property, elevators are sketchy and key cards don’t work 90% of the time. Food is horrible, the staff tries but spend the extra money at Hilton or Hyatt.

After 5 stays at this property I feel they have declined in overall service. This trip the beach felt not cared for. Lots of trash and broker beach chairs. The staff felt distant and not their usual happy island vibe. The room is cold and unwelcoming. They need to get new pillows for the bed and let’s not pretend only a sheet on the bed is luxurious and comfortable. The property as a whole when you step back is perfectly fine. When you pay attention though, it’s clearly a solid 3 stars. Even after a talk with the manager as he walked around asking for feedback. He seemed uninterested in our feedback even though he asked us for it. Weird vibes this trip.

Stayed 4 nights 5 days, went as couple, property was clean,staff was super friendly, food was good, walked 5 mins off-site to the bars and restaurants, overall a great experience. we will definatley be returning. there was an island wide power outage during our stay and the property handled it quickly and efficiently. it was like it never happened.
