Magnificent resort- we stayed at the Hilton for the first part of our stay and it was NOTHING like this. True island experience, casitas are immaculate, surroundings are so zen. Just what we needed to unwind. Nothing in Aruba like this! Stay different.
I loved loved loved it. It was me and my husband's 1 year anniversary as we didnt get our honeymoon because Covid and very limited travel. From day 1 the customer service has been exceptional until checkout. The cleaning peopl kept room fresh daily. Katarina really did an amazing job, as we missed a day because airline, and luggage came a day later. She kept me updated on my luggage even called airport for us. I needed an evening suurprise for my husband she planned something special and beautiful. Were big on customer service she was outstanding. The food delivery and scheduling was very easy. The grounds were cleaned daily and atmosphere was intimate and breath taking daily. We definitely returning we want to explore other rooms. Especially plung pool casita.

Each room/casita has a bedroom, bathroom and living room/kitchen with a small porch including a table and chairs and a hammock. Pitchers of water and ice tea were left in the refrigerator and replenished daily. Coffee maker, toaster, cooktop and microwave in kitchen so easy for breakfast, snacks, light meal, if desired. A cooler is even provided in case you want to take lunch to the beach nearby with reserved palapas available. The Ritz which is across the street and shares the beach with Boardwalk guests provides beach food/drink service with a discount. Staff is super helpful with anything you need and even recommended a wonderful restaurant off the beaten track. A car is helpful but taxis are easily obtained and not too costly. The pool is small but never overcrowded especially if you have a room poolside. You do have to walk across the street to the beach and it is a bit of a walk to the restaurant area but that's what makes it so relaxing. The only downside was that the office closes at 5 every night and is not open at all on Sundays so there is no one to assist you during those times unless there is an emergency. That is a minimal complaint and I would certainly rebook in a heartbeat.
If you want a quite paradise away from the glitz but within walking distance to great restaurants and white sand beaches, the Boardwalk Small Hotel is for you.
Booked this hotel based on reviews about the beautiful private casitas and patios. Despite having a reservation when numerous casitas were still available we were put in one right next to the office with absolutely no privacy. The king bed turned out to be 2 full size beds jammed up into the wall so that one person couldn't get out. Not a single clock around. Uncomfortable living room furniture. No tv in the bedroom. No pot holders or implements for the barbecue (nor charcoal). Children screaming each day at the pool for 2 hours - right when it was time to come back from the beach and try to relax before dinner. Dinner recommendations were limited to 1-2 restaurants and no familiarity with other restaurants and locations. Unbelievably, knowing our disappointment with room location, upon check out they tried to convince me to come back when they add more rooms. The pluses: Very clean, friendly.
