Hotel Valsana is a relatively newly built, nicely designed, fairly large hotel, located beautifully near the lake in Arosa. It is within walking distance to the train station and the cable car to the Weisshorn. In the ground floor there are some shops and a COOP supermarket. The hotel has a nice lounge with wine tasting machines and a nice restaurant where breakfast is also served. The restaurant has a terrace where you can sit in beautiful weather. The reception staff on arrival were very nice and helpful. We also got good tips on what to do in Arosa when it comes to walking and hiking. Also nice was that we got to greet the hotel manager on arrival. The hotel is otherwise owned by the Tschüggengruppen, which also has other hotels in Arosa. We had booked a double room with a balcony and we got a huge room, room number 501 with high ceilings. The balcony faced a forest and a parking lot so the view was perhaps not the best. In addition, it had a large window from the staircase so you were overlooked. The room had a TV with international channels, air conditioning, a safe and free wifi. Unfortunately, the wifi signal was a bit weak at times. The room had a minibar with free soft drinks and a nespresso machine. There was an Ipad in the room that you could borrow and with it you coulde get all the information about the hotel. One funny thing was that the room had a gramophone player for LP records. There were also some LPs that you could listen to. The whole interior of the room goes in pretty dark colors but we liked it. The bathroom was very large and had both a bath and a separate shower. There was plenty of room for your stuff. One of the days we visited the hotel's spa department which is included in the price. There was a heated indoor swimming pool as well as a sauna area with very large nicely designed saunas. A Finnish sauna, a herb sauna and a steam sauna. There were also small both cold and hot micro-pools adjacent to the sauna. We highly recommend a visit here. Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 11. It consisted of a nice smaller buffet with everything you could wish for. We liked the different varieties of smoothies which were refreshing. The bread was freshly baked. Coffee was served to the table and it was possible to order omelettes by the serving staff. Of course it is not cheap with hotels in Switzerland and in Arosa but we still thought this was a very affordable accommodation considering that the rooms were so large and the hotel is newly built. The spa facility and the fine breakfast were also included in the price. We highly recommend this hotel and will happily return if we go to Arosa again

We recently stayed here for 3 nights with an amazing deal through luxuryescapes.com ($153 a night). From our check-in all the way to our check-out, everything was perfect. Our room was very spacious, new, clean, and had interesting furniture and decor in it, which made the hotel feel more upscale modern-rustic and personal than typical hotels. The balcony had some seating for guests to enjoy the beautiful view, including a swing chair, which created a nice and cozy touch. Our room was very quiet, the bed very comfortable, and with the black-out curtains, we had a very good night’s rest there. The bathroom was very spacious and had lots of lighting, which was dimmable. The rain shower had good water pressure. As a hotel striving for minimal environmental impact, the shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion bathroom were all in soap dispensers. However, the quality of the products was so good that you didn’t feel like the hotel was being cheap with its guests by using them instead of small bottles. There was a mini bar in the room, too, with a nice variety of local drinks and even a small bar of Swiss chocolate, which were included in the rate and even replenished daily. The fridge was big enough to put a few extra things in there. Internet was included in the hotel rate and was consistent and fast. Bike rentals were included in the rate, too. Right next to the hotel, there is a decent-sized grocery store (Coop), which made this hotel stay with an ever-snacking kid very easy. Breakfast went until 11am and was delicious. Many great healthy food and drink options, catering to all kinds of diets. We loved that they offered local products from Arosa where possible. The staff was very nice and quick. I thought they had a great mix of personalities there to make you feel special, but not overwhelmed with service and communication. I‘m sure the hotel hears it a lot, but Doreen is definitely a keeper. ((If there was something to be improved, but this is really complaining on a high level, I found that the breakfast buffet arrangement was a little confusing at first. I found myself walking back and forth a lot looking for items. Instead, I would try to have all drinks in one area (including the milk), having all bowl foods like cereal and müsli in one place, having all foods to put on rolls in one place. But maybe that’s not possible because of refrigeration. I'm just sharing my experience and thoughts)) The indoor pool, gym and spa rooms are very beautifully decorated. The spa is spacious and offers three kinds of saunas, a little Kneipp pool, and several different experience showers. A great place to relax after a busy day in the mountains. We also loved that the Arosa card was included, which allows you take up the many lifts in the area for free, and ride the paddle/rowing boats near the hotel. What a great deal! All in all, we had a wonderful hotel experience and enjoyed staying in this gorgeous area. We highly recommend staying at this hotel.
All the staff are warm and welcoming. The beds are super comfortable, the yoga and hiking were amazing. The scenery was stunning. The food was delicious and all tastes and dietary requirements well catered for. I did not want to leave and would definitely return. The train journey from Zurich is very efficient and travels through very picturesque countryside.setting the scene for a delightful stay.
It´s been a great short visit of just two nights but we enjoyed every aspect of it. The staff is fantastic, the design and architecture very nice in a warm, modern fashion. The room was great with anything that comes with it. The restaurant is excellent, in the evening as much as for the amazing breakfast buffet. Comes highly recommended.

From the welcome greeting and goodbye personally done by the hotel manager and the entire staff, room, amenities, spa and location this is truly one of our best experiences had by people who have travelled most of the world over. It is well deserved of a five star rating and we cannot fault our stay at Valsana in any way. Absolutely wonderful.
