Good location but poor quality accommodation
My family have been VRBO customers for many years and can’t recollect ever having to write a review like this:
We suspect if you love cockroaches this is the place for you. Having both holidayed and indeed lived, for decades in many hot climates, we’re more than used to cockroaches. We therefore know the difference between the odd one or two cockroaches or an infestation (we have many photos and videos). After seeing and capturing several of these creatures in our first 3 days here, we alerted the company. A day later the exterminator came but didn’t alert us to the fact that his treatment would result in 20 cockroaches surfacing and then slowly dying within the next few hours-truly disgusting. Our impression is that the refurb of this flat has only been superficial and hasn’t been able to touch the basic infrastructure of this very dated building,especially the drainage system. It’s obvious from other reviews that this is a very down-at- heel building though, paradoxically, the small garden area and pool are beautifully maintained and look out to a lovely harbour vista.
It also worth noting that the rental company were unhelpful , completely laidback about it all.
Other things to note are that the loungers by the pool are not adjustable with no cushions. This wasn’t a major issue for us but if you are a sun worshipper you may not find these comfortable and have to source your own lounger cushions.
