Very basic room, private bathroom, clean, cheap (33€ per night) and wake up to a great view. Internet was excellent throughout the complex. Bed was okay - only a double but it was pretty comfortable. Full bath with shower over. But extroadinarily cheap! 2270oos
You probably will not find this level of quality for 40-50 euros. Good views, calm environment, Spanish speaking staff.Breakfast is not rich. Rooms are clean. Check in till 19:00, but they can leave keys and give you pass code to enter. You need to call first.
To set the scene clearly : this is not a place to remember. The hotel scene in Amelie-les-bains is quite poor, and this appeared to be one of the better places, according to previous reviews. Room are basic, almost spartan, I would say. After 19h00 in the evening, there is really nothing anymore, not even a reception... Bar opening hours are from 14h00 until 19h00 ; not really the customer friendly hours ! Breakfast is quite OK however. But, the price is also very low (i payed 40 EUR/night), so price and offering are quite aligned.
A nice building close to the thermal activities and the city of Amelie Les Bains.Very good view on the mountains and the river very close. The rooms and the apartments are quite new and modern, many with a small but useful balcony. Nice helpful staff and good breakfast room. A couple of remarks though: The kitchenette is poorly equipped and the wifi signal very week.
Hard to find, at the edge of town on a nice spot over the river. Ample parking in this not very attractive building (don't get fooled by the "tower" picture in the folder!). Not the friendliest reception, unable to help on all problems (light bulb missing, we will get one for you tomorrow!), no WiFi, all allocated spots taken (too bad). Modern, clean rooms with folding garden chairs. Not very inviting to stay more than one night.
I'm sure this hotel is fine for those who wish to use it as a stopover. We stayed for a week and only got fresh towels and the bed changed on one occasion and that was because we asked. The hotel was verging on empty for most of the week and yet the room we were allocated was at the rear of the property with a poor aspect - the view at the front was excellent - at least we saw it from the car park. On the outskirts of the town and in retrospect I probably would have stayed elsewhere
Although not located right in town, it is easier to stay here for the ample parking. Great clean & tidy rooms with lovely balconies that look over the river. The rooms have air conditioning or you can open the balconies door for a natural breeze. The breakfast is great. There is a laundry room with a washer and dryer at 4euro a time. Lovely peaceful surroundings. Staying at a hotel right in town is harder with the parking issue. Though there is a public carpark which is cheap.
This hotel could have ticked all the boxes but never quite did. We were told on arrival that we had entered through the wrong door, a warm welcome it was not. Then we given a twin bedroom when we had specified a double. The receptionist checked the booking then stated that no double was now available and that was that. The room we had is quirky in that the toilet is in the turret and it was very clean, but on the garden side of the hotel, just two rooms don't have balconies and one of them was ours. A stunning view from the room made that fact a little worse, added to the fact that the rooms below have a larger than normal balcony enabling the family below to walk out sufficiently to be able to see right into most of our room, giving a lack of privacy. That said, the hotel is in a great place with the River Tech running below, creating a natural swimming pool. A little walk into Amelie and it's quaint bars and restaurants and almost next door a public pool or adventure park are your choices. They didn't replace soaps/shampoo and the breakfast was very poor. We found a Petit Dejeuner for half the price in town. The tranquility of the place makes me want to return but I would avoid the turret bedrooms at all cost.
One night stop with family en route. We had the pair of rooms (no one room solution for four) with turrets and view/sound of the River Tech from balconies which we all liked. Rooms were well appointed for cost and buffet breakfast varied and plentiful. Good service conducted in French by all staff (despite our collective O level Franglais) with a smile.
We stayed here for an overnight stop and found it a clean and friendly place to be with decent sized rooms. It is by the river, which you can walk down to and have a paddle, and a short walk from the town. The restaurant was not open but the manageress booked us a table at a good restaurant in Amelie. Good breakfast on the patio the next morning. A very pleasant stay.
