AC Hotel Arezzo by Marriott

Stayed one night while driving from Tuscany to Rome, located in an industrial area, slightly tricky to get to. Modern design with nice amenities. Free self parking was one of the reason I picked this hotel. AC was a little weak for the hot Tuscan summer. Comfortable bed with good size room.

We stayed here for two nights when traveling from Florence to Rome as a halfway point. The newness and contemporary feel was very similar to the AC hotel in Florence we had just stayed at. The restaurant food and service exceeded my expectations since I thought this a business traveller with the usual mediocre restaurant. The food presentation and quality of service was excellent with fresh food and perfect size portions. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place near Arezzo and make sure have a dinner at the hotel

It amazes me that Marriott considers this hotel acceptable. Not a very clean property – Air conditioning never worked well, Shower ran hot and cold, mattress was broken (flat) on a board. We asked them to replace the mattress and they merely flipped it. Felt like an Ikea hotel. Laminate paper peeling off the MDF furniture. Staff not all that helpful, not well trained. It seemed like everyone complained that they were newly hired. Have stayed there twice, we should have learned our lesson the first time.

This hotel is very small and not close to town. There are no amenities and they do not provide anything other then a gym. Taxis are your means of transportation. They will change prices each time you get in and depending on the day only run in certain areas. Trains also follow this rule and will not go to the country on Sundays. The staff was helpful and polite. The restaurant was closed each time we went so make sure you grab something in town. They did however get us a expresso when we asked. The room was small. Only tv channel in English was BBC.

I was unfamiliar with the location of this hotel, but it ended up being in a good location for me to get onto Autostrade to drive to Florence. What I want to share is that Alessandro of their team was amazingly gracious to me on several occasions. The WiFi in my rental car had stopped working and the GPS in my phone was also malfunctioning. In addition, I was worried because the Hertz drop off in Florence was going to be closed when I dropped off my car. Alessandro came to my rescue by providing me with excellent directions and printing off maps, etc. for me to follow.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious. I was amazed with the cleanliness. The reception team was exceptionally friendly! The breakfast was cheap and great value for money. The air condicioner in the room wasn't working and I was told that it wouldn't be turned on for another week, which was upsetting. I was forced to sleep with the windows opened, which was too noisy with cars on the highway. The two young waiters Andreas and Giancarlo (if I am not mistaken) were great! They were very friendly and served me during breakfast and dinner, very hard workers. I recommend to rent a car if you are staying in this hotel as it is a little far from the city centre. The wifi was fast and free.

We stayed for two nights and this property adequately met our needs. It did not provide complimentary breakfast to us because we used points for our stay, so we opted not to eat at the hotel. Nice bathroom with more amenities than typical (toothbrush, comb, etc.) and the king bed was comfortable. We were able to refill our water bottles in the nice fitness center. No in room safe, but safes are readily available behind the front desk downstairs. As mentioned in other posts, the hotel is in an industrial area which for us, made access easier than driving and parking in the congested part of town and it was quiet. We walked 2 blocks to eat at a great restaurant both nights, Da Oreste Cafe & Ristorante that even served gluten-free pasta.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over the Christmas period. The first couple of nights were very quiet and the last couple of nights had the hotel quite busy. It is a stock standard hotel. The rooms are nice and a little spacious. One criticism is that they do not have a lot of power adaptors on the bedside table nor the desk; something you would normally expect in the hotel. The gym is quite basic but has some Dumbells, bench, a couple of bikes, a elliptical and a treadmill. The weights are not heavy but suffice for a workout or two. It also had a sauna area which was really good. We used the gym every day and the sauna a couple of times. We never used the restaurant while there. It was closed for a couple of days over the Christmas period. Plus we wanted to explore the options in Arezzo. The restaurant itself looked nice and probably worth a visit if you didn't want to go outside. The good thing about this hotel is its location just outside of the Arezzo city centre. If you have a car then it is perfect because you can park here without a cost. There is also a cafe very close (Arts Cafe) where you can pick up a few snacks or a coffee/pastry in the morning.

Good hotel in Arezzo; but not in the center. Better to go with car (free parking available). The hotel is very clean an the room are ok. Staff is unfortunatly not friendly. Breakfast buffet is very poor.

We stayed here as part of our tour of Tuscany using points because I am a Marriott platinum elite member. We arrived on a Sunday night so got a taxi from the station (arrived from Rome) and it cost €10. We were picking up a rental car the next morning so wandered into the town for dinner on the Sunday night. The walk is about 30 minutes each way and wasn't a problem for us as we don't mind walking. Arezzo itself is lovely and is worth spending several hours in. We stopped off and had gelato a few times and the odd coffee. The hotel doesn't recognise Marriott membership so breakfast is not included if using points. This wasn't really a problem for us as we were touring so stopped off along the route each day and had breakfast but Marriott do really need to resolve this issue. Benefits should be the same across all hotels. Overall the hotel is clean and tidy and is a good base for looking around this area of Tuscany.
