Stood here for two separate visits. The first week was pleasant, the cleaning staff throughout our whole visit were Excellent and welcoming. Also have to give a big thumbs up to our host from Poland we did not get her name but she was very very nice, helpful and informative. We will always appreciate and remember her hospitality. Then we left for a few days and things did not seem the same. Our flight came in early, check in time was not until 2pm and we had all our luggage. We called the hotel to see if it was possible If we can atleast store our luggage and leave to go have lunch and come back at 2pm for check in time, but we were told that this was not possible because nobody was working there, not sure if the guy even wanted to try to help but we actually were able to speak with one of the maids cleaning the rooms and she let us store our luggage behind reception. She was very helpful. Then the first visit we were charged 4 euro for taxes and the second visit we were charged 2.5 euros then 5 euros for the taxes, which we were unsure of why the charged one price and then another, this was not explained to us. Our whole experience with Arenys de Mar has been mixed. Some people around town were not friendly and some very very friendly. We spent close to $600 for our visit to this hostel and though we were satisfied with the host from Poland and the cleaning ladies who always kept the room clean and were friendly, we may look elsewhere.
If you don't speak Spanish or Catalan this is not the place to stay. The room was very small. The picture in the email is not the room I had. I had a single bed which is smaller than an American twin. It was clean and had a compact refrigerator. I didn't like that the door didn't have a peephole.

We regret that there was a misunderstanding with the suitcases, since we always give the possibility of leaving the luggage at reception, but it has to be from 9 o'clock, since before that time there is no one. The amount of the tourist tax is always the same, since it is a municipal tax (0.50 € per person and night), so depending on the nights you stay, it is a price or another. A cordial greeting,
