I’ve booked this hotel which is quite expensive thinking I was treating myself as it said to be a spa resort. Well... the pool and the jacuzzi are dirty and very small so not inviting at all. The room was clean and comfortable but I wouldn’t choose this hotel again. They’ve got a restaurant but it closes at 8pm so if you’re on a tour or whatever and you come back late and want to eat you’re forced to get a taxi to the town as it’s impossible walking there. As a solo traveler would have been better probably a hostel in the town at least you meet some people as there was no one around in this hotel.

Our family of 4 booked a villa for two nights. It was our most expensive stop on our 2-week Costa Rica adventure ($350/night), but we figured it would be worth it for a "wellbeing resort" with spacious villas, pool, and nearby hiking. We didn't expect luxury, just someplace clean and enjoyable that would allow us to connect with the beauty of Arenal. What we found was a dated and rundown property up a deeply potholed road, and a dark, musty, filthy villa. The place was so dirty I was squeamish about sleeping or showering there. I found dark hairs and dirt between the bedsheets. The bathroom walls looked like they had been splattered with mud or something else brown. There were rings in the toilet like they hadn't been cleaned for a while. In a corner was a pile of dead bugs. The sparse fluorescent lighting was so bad that I literally couldn't see the contents of my suitcase at night without a flashlight. The one time I asked for help booking a tour, the front desk guy informed me that he can only call companies that he personally works with, instead offering me the phone to make my own calls. Neither he or anyone ever asked how our stay was or offered to be of service. The road to the property is so deeply rutted that it's a miracle we didn't get a flat tire on the way in - and I say that having driven for 2 weeks on lots of other bad roads in CR. The property advertises yoga and meditation, but I didn't see any sign of anything like that taking place here. It seemed to be just a sad place to crash for other hapless travelers. We made due and spent as little time at the resort as possible, using it just to sleep. The one redeeming feature was the breakfast, which was surprisingly good (eggs, fruit, coffee, pancakes, and more). It's remarkable that this place calls itself a resort and charges such exorbitant rates.

The place is nice, it was 5 of us and we booked the villa. Very big and spacious, clean, shower has hot water but you have to wait a bit for it to start running. Breakfast in included and very tasty. Far from La Fortuna, the car is essential to reach the village. The hike for Cerro Chato starts right from the villa. Overall is a nice place, maybe a little bit overpriced. Credit cards accepted.

OMG - run, run as fast as you can, it is not an hotel, more like a guesthouse but with terrible service!!! I think in prison the service is better. Now seriously, it looks like the owner had it with the hotel and gave a bunch of local clowns to run it. We came for 5 nights (they actually sell themselves as a 5 stars resort 🤪), no cold water in the shower and when you try to call them to fix we had to wait for 48 hours... sheets old and dirty also the towels, try to ask for a capuchino or espresso or, god forbid, a scramble egg for breakfast, they have it but will charge you extra (5 stars resort, breakfast included, what a joke). Unfortunately, the joke was on me 😡

Please be aware that if it rains, it's dangerous to get to the hotel! 2 flat tires in one day. Also, flash lights and if you staying in bungalow I recommend candles. Otherwise, place is beautiful, air is clean, views to die for. We stayed in superior room which was a villa. Clean, comfortable and big. I got engaged in that villa :) waterfall is 5 min walk down the hill and Fortuna is 7 min drive . Service was ok, people working in restaurant were very very nice and even with limited English were trying to help out to the maximum! Memorable vacation.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 days this July. Upon arrival we were informed that they upgraded us to a bungalow which was beautiful and it had beautiful views of Arenal Volcano. The breakfast was included and made to order which was great. The property is HUGE and there are a lot of paths so definitely take advantage of that! The road is pretty rough to and from the resort and once its raining up there its kind of dangerous to drive anywhere, due to the absence of street lights and the road conditions. It's a pretty quiet place so if your looking for nightlife this isn't for you. But if you want to do morning excursions into nature, see the waterfall or hot springs, or just relax it's the perfect place for you.

Very clean, quite area with beautiful view of volcano. The rooms and beds were dated. If the beds were better it would have made up for the dated rooms as all I use it for is sleeping. If you stay in your room a lot I would recommend finding a resort instead. The passes to the park were included but the park has been closed for months and will be for awhile longer. When we booked the free passes were a promotional item yet the park was closed at the time of booking and visit. As with the rest of the country they will sell you something knowing it is not going to work as promoted. I recommend asking locals before you do anything including eating. We had breakfast here as it was included. You get pancakes or omelet, the meat was only lunch meat ham. Processed lunch meat ham sums up there kitchen. Dinner here is a no way. Nachos only and snacks. Do not waist your time and money on anything else. Service and food here and in the city is like most of the area subpar and pricey for what garbage they try and give you. We had two really good meals in town in the 4 days we were in this area. The rest of the meals were so bad I was missing the gross fast food from the states. I have never traveled and had this poor of food and service and I travel alot.

We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay at GreenLagoon. Our rooms were clean and spacious, with all the amenities we needed. The grounds were lush, and the outlook to the mountains gorgeous. All staff members were very accommodating and helpful, especially Marlon at the bar! We were very happy with our stay and with the service!

We rented the 3 BR, 3 Bathroom Villa and it was amazing. Stayed for 3 nights / 4 days and wished we were here longer. Pros 1. Very large and spacious villa (2000 sq ft) with upgrades. Tropical landscaping 2. Perfectly Blends into the surrounding 3. Full kitchen with dishes, utensils, refrigerator and laundry 4. Daily housekeeping 5. Hammocks with beautiful views 6. Amazing views of the La Fortuna valley, Volcano and mountains 7. Private pool with Jacuzzi 8. Free Breakfast with excellent chef Areas of Improvement 1. The road leading to the hotel and then to the villa needs significant improvement. Unless you have a 4x4, the trip can be Rocky at minimum and slippery in rain. 2. From the villa there's no way of contacting the front desk. You have to drive there. Not a major issue unless u have an emergency. 3. Beautiful Mediterranean tiles by the pool; slippery ceramic tiles on the rest of the property. Families with kids have to be extra careful as these tiles are slippery. 4. Hotel pool was small, but didn't bother us as the villa had a private pool

We stayed for three nights and enjoyed every minute! The staff is lovely, the rooms are clean, and the food is fresh and delicious. My only suggestion is that the hot tub could be slightly hotter... :)
