Located in the upper Bearn, on the border of the Basque country, in the valley of barétous, our two cottages are located at 400 m altitude, in an agricultural property, on the edge of a private forest and on the edge of the green river very popular with sinners.

Here is the paradise of birds, dozens of species rub shoulders. At the edge of the forest, near the river and in a preserved agricultural domain.

Hemos pasado una semana maravillosa en le Pétit Gîte; la casa es pequeñita y sencilla, pero tiene lo necesario. El entorno es precioso y tranquilo, y los propietarios encantadores. Por otra parte, el entorno tiene muchísimas posibilidades. A menos de una hora en coche hay un montón de excursiones y opciones (naturaleza, culturales, infantil, etc.), todas ellas muy interesantes. Muy recomendable.

Somos un matrimonio con tres hijos y estuvimos la última semana de agosto en el gite Soleil Couchant. La experiencia ha sido extraordinariamente buena. Si te gusta el verde, la pradera, el bosque, pasear entre roble y haya, y respirar aire puro, no te pierdas el Haut Béarn. El alojamiento en sí está muy bien. Se trata de un antiguo granero que se ha tabicado por dentro para crear dos viviendas que se alquilan. Las "calidades" son básicas pero sólidas y honestas. El equipamiento nos ha parecido muy completo, lavadora, lavavajillas, microondas, utensilios de cocina, minipimer, copas de champán si quieres, tienes de todo. El jardín, un lujo. Césped campestre pero limpio y cuidado, árboles de sombra, mucha amplitud. Los niños se entretenían solos. Y aunque hay otras dos viviendas alquiladas en la finca, más los dueños, se conserva la sensación de privacidad, nadie te invade ni te molesta. Los que más ruido hacíamos éramos nosotros, me imagino. A destacar el buen hacer de la dueña, Mado. Tiene lo que en España a veces llamamos "clase". Pone atención en que estés a gusto, pero sin agobiar tampoco: una vez que estás bien, te deja hacer tu vida. Habla bien el español, es agradable en el trato, y tuvo varios detalles con nosotros. Muy recomendable el Béarn, y muy recomendable este gite.

Genial en la casa pequeña

Hemos pasado una semana estupenda en esta pequeña casita en el Bearn. La casa no tiene grandes lujos, pero sí lo suficiente para pasar una temporada.  Consta de salón-cocina con un sofá-cama doble, una habitación de matrimonio, sala de baño, wc y una buhardilla forrada en madera muy coqueta con tres camitas. Lo que más merece la pena es el exterior, ya que está rodeada de flores, árboles frutales y praderas verdes, todo muy cuidado y con mucho gusto. La propietaria vive junto a su familia en una casa anexa y nos ha facilitado todo lo que hemos necesitado, es muy cariñosa con los niños y habla perfectamente español (gracias Mado!).  La zona es espectacular, con unos paisajes de película, gente muy amable y sin grandes agobios turísticos.   Si se busca tranquilidad y pasar unos días respirando aire puro, es una gran opción.

Excelente, entorno fantastico, trato impecable.

Estubimos una semana, en la petit gite. es una casita encantadora, igual que el entorno en que se encuentra, el rio es fantastico, y con la calor que hacia, era una delicia poder refrescarse en el. El trato de los propietarios es inmejorable, muy atentos y serviciales. Altamente recomendable para conocer esta bella zona de los pirineos, con infinidad de excursiones.

Very nice and quiet place to stay with family

We discover this very nice cottage after a stay in Biarritz on French west Coast. We were looking for another nice place in nature. And when we found the Gites L'ostau, we knew that was a beautiful place with a lot of tree, a river, and a lot of meadows. We fell in love at the first sight. Mado and Pierre are very welcoming and friendly. They could give you a lot of information for tourist visits. The cottage has a lot of equipment. There is enough place for a big family. During the summer time, the nature is very attractive and if you like sport, you'll be happy, because there is a lot of hiking track, close to the river or in the beautiful surroundings mountains. I recommend this wonderful place for couple or family.

très froid et peu d' eau chaude

peut-etre que l'été le fait que l'isolation soit très mauvaise et que l'eau chaude est vraiment limitée n'est pas genant mais au mois de février avec des enfants ça devient un véritable probléme d'ailleurs meme la dame à sans le vouloir avouée que son gite est mal isolé bref à déconseiller surtout l'hiver et la propreté laisse à désirer

Supers soirées autour de la cheminée

Encore une fois, enchantés de notre séjour aux gîtes l'Ostau. Et toujours le même "soleil levant". En hiver quand il gèle dehors c'est un plaisir de se retrouver autour de la grande cheminée. Cette année nous avons testé le chemin du Vert en janvier... Paysage gelé, beau et nous avons eu le plaisir de croiser un héron et un magnifique renard. C'est sur nous reviendrons très vite

Très bon séjour et nature environnante magnifique

Nous sommes arrivés aux Gites L'ostau avec deux jeunes enfants en plein mois de Janvier, avec des températures extérieurs très froides et de la neige. Les enfants étaient ravis. La cheminée était parfaite pour nous réchauffer et les soirées autour de l’âtre, nous ont permis de passer des moments avec nos enfants inoubliables . Les chambres sont chaleureuses et confortables. Le gites Soleil Levant, ou nous restions, est suffisamment grand pour au moins 7 ou 8 personnes. De ce gîtes, nous avions une vue directes sur les collines alentours. Les hôtes sont très accueillant et sont à votre dispositions pour vous accompagner durant votre séjours. Nous avons profiter de leurs conseils pour faire de belles balades sur les collines enneigées, très proches du gîte et faire un peu de ski à La Pierre Saint Martin. Malheureusement, après cette très bonne semaine de vacances dans les Pyrénées, le retour à notre vie citadine nous paraît bien moins enchanteur, mais c'est la vie. Je pense que nous viendrons y repasser un moment pendant l'été, pour voir le décor magnifique de cette belle vallée sous les couleurs estivales.

La tranquila Francia

Hemos pasado una semana en la petit gîte. El entorno es maravilloso, a pocos metros hay un río donde se puede bañar uno. La atención es excelente, la dueña nos hizo pasar una agradable semana, nos enseñó las vacas, y nos llevó por el río. El pueblo tiene cerca muchas facilidades, supermercado, restaurantes e incluso piscina. La relación Calidad/Precio es muy buena. Y recomiendo este paraiso campestre para aquel que quiera disfrutar de unas agradables vacaciones. Absolutamente recomendable. Jaume (14 años).

Estancia muy agradable en un entorno espectacular

Hemos pasado una semana en el apartamento más pequeño, sencillo pero ideal para dos, con una habitación grande y buenas vistas al prado. En la buhardilla hay tres camas más. Excelente opción para los amantes de la naturaleza y los que viajan con perros. Situada entre prados, muy cerca del rio y con infinidad de senderos por los alrededores. Es un lugar muy bucólico y tranquilo. Bien comunicado para acceder a valles cercanos y visitar sitios más turísticos como Kakueta y Holtzarte. Los dueños son muy agradables y ambos hablan español, perfecto para los que no hablamos francés. Se hace difícil volver a la rutina y te quedas con ganas de prolongar las vacaciones disfrutando de las montañas, el agua, el verde..... ¡¡ Intentaremos volver !!
