NH Mechelen is NOT a 4 star, but the services and comfort it provides are excellent. The fact it does not have its "own" restaurant for dinner is not a disadvantage, as this small perfectly formed Hotel is in the centre of town with access to all the delights that Mecheln bring
Great location for central Mechelen and restaurants. Easy 10-minute walk from the station, circa 10 mins. Comfortable bed, although room was hot even with the window fully open on a cold day. Large room works well for a business traveller with desk and also easy chair. Great breakfast options and very fresh.
This hotel is really great located in the center of Mechelen. Everything is within walking distance, Korenmarkt is a 5 min. walk. The rooms are standard for NH, everything you need is there. Good bed, reasonable bathroom, good shower. Minibar with reasonable priced items. The wifi connection on the 5th floor was of good quality. Parking is extra, around 12,50 a day and be aware the entrance (height) of the garage is really limited, max 1.65 meter and not a cm more! There is space to park your bikes, inside and safe. The parking is conveniently reachable by elevator. The breakfast is good, enough to choose from but not over the top. I had a really pleasant stay in the NH and it is ideal if you want to discover the lovely city of Mechelen or it surroundings. Also for a night stay when travelling through it looks suitable.
This was a return trip to the NH hotel at Mechelen. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. The rooms offered standard business accommodation and were spotlessly clean. Free wifi is provided. Parking is provided - but be alert! A saloon/sedan car will enter the garage, but the descent is steep and there is a right-angled turn to the left. Clearance is adequate, but for first-timer is looks very tight. 4x4 vehicles, and SUVs will need to park elsewhere. NH is good place for an overnight stop and I warmly recommend it. The town is delightful with a wonderful medieval square at the centre.
Value for money in a reasonable location just five minutes walk from the Grote Markt. Not that we ate in the restaurant yet it was busy and the customers appeared very happy with the fayre that was on offer.
Only stayed one night but huge bedroom, good sized bathroom. Really close to the centre of Mechelen. Car parking a slight issue (check with the hotel as the height of your car could negate you using their very steep underground parking!). Breakfast was more than adequate and really enjoyable. Staff were pleasant and helpful and there were no cleanliness issues. Would have liked to have stayed a few more nights to further explore this hidden gem of a town!
The location of this hotel is good, and very close to numerous bars and restaurants...several of which we popped into ☺️ We had 3 rooms here for our stay, two "superior" and one regular. Definitely felt bad for our friend in the "normal" room....horrible carpeting, dated and not at all charming. The newer renovated superior rooms were comfortable enough. Modern bathroom. We slept well. The lobby "bar" isn't. You ask at the front desk for a drink, and if they have it, you can buy it. In my case, they didn't have any wine. So we just went out. Which is a shame, I am one of those people who always likes a drink or two in her hotel bar. Parking was easy peasy adjacent to the hotel (maybe we lucked out?) I liked the location and would probably stay here again, knowing what to expect. Because overall, nothing terribly negative to say! Cheers.
As you are suppose to know, tracing in Europe is different then the US. We enjoyed this hotel as well as the breakfast. Bed is comfortable as well as the bathroom. Room stayed cool if you set it at -2 The Staff was very good and vey nice
The hotel is located near the lively centre of Mechelen. We checked in early and got a feee update. The room was comfortable and clean, the beds were fine. The lobby is quite old and could do with an update/renovation. Friendly and helpful staff and a very special parking (paid), sinc the max height is 1.60 meters.
The hotelrooms are old but everything needed is there. The bed is comfortable, beside the old furniture makes the air conditioner a lot of noise and have to be switched off during the night to sleep. The hotel is 2-3 minutes walking from the city Center so very convenient to get in the evening something to drink or to eat. The breakfast ist good but with 17,50 euro expensive. When you come by car the have there own parking garage but your car should not be higher then 1.65 m, the parking is costing you 12.50 euro per night. Overall the hotel was good for 1 night but not more.
