I don’t really know how to describe this place. To be honest, I don’t really get it. Let’s start with the easy bit. It’s a well situated, clean hotel with decent sized rooms. But. It’s quite expensive and sort of fancy but not. Kind of like it got halfway through trying to be posh then gave up and watched Netflix instead. The building is loft style ex factory chic, but with vanilla rooms. As you walk around there are flashes of coolness in the corridor, some odd piece of art or something funky. However the rooms are just a bit boring. Nice enough. Not anything to complain about. Just dull. The bed was comfy. The shower was strong with lots of hot water. There was a coffee machine. However. The shower was designed by an idiot and just floods the bathroom and splashed the opposite wall (which didn’t have tiles). The coffee machine was some Rombout thing. It’s worked. But was a bit clunky. Overall ok. I’d come back.
We had an overnight stop here to avoid Brussels - this place was great - a very large room with a comfortable bed and the usual facilities. Very friendly staff. Me Helen is a short ride from Brussels Midi and an interesting smaller town for a days stop off.
We stayed in this hotel for one night. Staff were friendly and helpful with the rooms being clean and comfortable. We opted for a deluxe room and were grateful for the large amount of extra space it provides. The free wifi was useful and worked well. We did not use the restaurant or bar during our stay. The hotel is well located in the central part of Mechelen with plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes close by. The main tourist sights are only a short walk away. Overall we were happy with out stay and would come to this hotel again the next time we are in Mechelen
Great location within a square with bars and cafes next to the river. To walk into the centre of town only took about 5 minutes. Across a small bridge opposite the hotel was a supermarket and under that was the car park (next to Novotel) it was quite expensive compared to other places we have stayed. The room was large and at the back of the hotel which was very quite. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast the first morning which is in the bar area, a fair selection but not really substantial. For some reason alot of the foods had nuts as decoration on them (we have nut allergies which limited our choice - seemed quite odd). They have a small pool in the hotel but if you have a standard room you have to pay 9euro each person even if you are part of the Accor loyalty programme, seems mean! Why not just include a session in the pool free with your stay. Mechelen is a interesting place and there is alot to explore, We usually stop off in Bruges but I am glad we decided to visit Mechelen as an alternative.
This is a perfect hotel for short-term and long term vacations. It is in the middle of the beautiful city Mechelen. You can go and enjoy everything by food or bicycle. The staff here is kind, helpfull and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. TV with several channels - coffee and thee. Nice and clean bathroom with open shower. Breakfast is very good - a lot of choices. You can stay here with children or , like me this time, on your own. This hotel and the staff is perfect ! Thank you for making my stay relaxing . Important ...there is a fantastic spa available in the hotel!
This hotel is an old sardine factory. It is unique, and the theme is evident with old pieces of equipment throughout. Nice rooms, and an awesome location. It is in a pedestrian area with shops and restaurants. Great service with workers who really care.
The hotel used to be a cigar factory, so great to stay in something different than yet another corporate hotel. Plenty of restaurants and bars next to the hotel, so quite handy. The room is quite big, clean, tidy and very well furnished. Stay here again!
A fish smoking factory and a cigars factory refurbished with style and atmosphere into a very nice design hotel located in the central fish market square overlooking the canal. Good food at the hotels restaurant. This is how to make pleasant a business trip overnight. I would have no doubt to choose it also for an holiday stay. Due to the central location you may hear people laughing from the street during the night.
We only stayed here one night this time. Its been revamped since our last visit 2 years ago with a better dining area. Breakfast was OK nothing outstanding, but don't think this area is conducive to evening dining hence not eating there. The room we had wasn't as good as we had previously but it was clean, however there wasn't any view. Clean and a good bathroom with a great shower. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is nicely situated and on a nice day some lovely little cafes/bars to have a drink in front. The downside of our trip this time was that we were there on a Sunday leaving Monday and everything shuts down apart from restaurants and bars. Car parking is over the little bridge and quite expensive.
Me and my boyfriend booked this hotel at the busiest season in Belgium (Rock Werchter Festival). The Good thing about this hotel is that the staffs were friendly and easy to talked to and all you have to do is ask. The hotel is near to it's city stores, restaurants, and bars. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean. But the BAD thing is that our room has a lot of cracks (ROOM 106 = walls and ceiling). We were worried about it like the building is about to collapse. You could hear the A LOT of noise outside and the AIR CONDITIONER is soo warm! We tried to fix the temperature but it doesn't work at all. Luckily it was rainy season when we booked this hotel. Because if it is in summer the room will be like an oven. I heard a lot of people complaining about it but still no words or explanation from the hotel. The mini-fridge in our 106 Room doesn't work. The breakfast is kinda BASIC. It's a few buffet breakfast and 20 euro per person. The housekeeping is UNTIL 2PM after that they're not going to clean your room. There is no parking available in the hotel. You have to park at the public parking that cost you 18 euro for 1 day. Overall, I think this hotel is AVERAGE, we had a good stay but the headache of a lot of complains in this hotel is not that relaxing.
