Chosen for its location to the train station, we received a spacious room that appeared fairly clean, except the carpeting was so badly stained and soiled that we did not feel comfortable walking barefoot in our room. The breakfast was fine, and the staff was friendly. Hopefully someone will pay attention to the needed refurbishment. The bedding was just ok, and could also use an upgrade...but it was reasonably priced in an expensive city. Plenty of hot water, and we felt safe.
I stayed in this hotel just for 1 night with my family. They have big spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The bathroom was also clean. The staff was really courteous and helped us in some useful tourist information. They are close to central station (600mtrs) and in the diamond shopping street. There are 2 excellent indian restaurants within 100 mtrs.
Stayed here with family and friends. Check-in was smooth, and our rooms were actually quite large by local standards. Unfortunately, first floor rooms are prone to a bit of noise, and I think there were families with young children on the floor so there was a bit of a rude awakening in the morning. This hotel is actually very much in the middle of the diamond district. It's very close to the Antwerp Central train station, and a few minutes walk from Antwerp zoo, but you'd need to take a tram to the city centre if you want to do any sightseeing there. Hotel parking is very limited - you'd probably need to reserve it in advance if you want it, but there's a public parking lot about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
The AC in my room was terrible, I actually opened the window to bring cool air. Pillows not comfortable to sleep on. Ten hotel is situated in a good location, 10 minutes walk from the station and food and shopping areas.
Astoria is conveniently located in the Diamond District of Antwerp about 700m from the station and 1 Km from the Meir shopping area. I spent a night recently at this hotel. Check-in was quick, efficient and friendly, and the room was made available immediately around 13:00. The room and bathroom were large and adequately furnished. There was a balcony outside. The heating worked fine. Breakfast was included in the rate, and both hot and cold items were available. Regarding areas for improvement, as other reviewers have mentioned, the carpeting looks a bit dated, and the chairs in the dining room could benefit from a reupholster. Hotel rates in Belgium tend to be expensive. For Antwerp, Belgium's most expensive city, a rate of about 100 euros per night including breakfast, qualifies as a budget price. Given that, I would rate the hotel as quite good based on location, amenities and service.
This hotel is not bad for a night or two. Our room smelled funny when we entered which wasn't great. We asked for a double bed and instead got 2 singles next to each other. Coffee station and TV is good. Bathrooms and beds were clean. Perfect for a quick stay in Antwerp as it is 5min walk from Central Station
We booked a deluxe room but to be honest there wasnt anything deluxe about it. Rooms are very dated and the walls need a good clean or paint. Marks on the walls and rust on the mirror. The balcony was very big but it was like an ice rink and very dangerous, could do with putting salt on it during winter months. The car park was full so we had to park around the corner but it was actuay cheaper and not far at all. Breakfast was average and the chairs were falling apart but always tables available. When we checked in the 2 receptionists just carried on their conversation while serving us and i found that a little rude. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Location however is excellent. Dont get me wrong i have stayed in worse hotels but i think for a 3 star it is overpriced and that is purely why i wouldnt stay here again. Lower the prices or redecorate and revamp is my opinion.
The Astoria Hotel is a very simple hotel, but was enough for us. The location is very good, in a quiet place. It´s possible to go to the main tourist points by foot. The staff was very polite and we didn´t have any problem. The room is confortable with a clean bathroom. It´s a good choice if you don´t wanna luxe.
This Astoria hotel was located in the centre of Antwerp Belgian. Nice with own parking place, nice and friendly employers, clean rooms, reasonable prices, excellent breakfast, located in the famous diamant area, near the central train station as well. A lot of restaurants, markets and shops. Nearby a great and big ZOO. Nice for children as well. tip: Rent a bike, is easy, cheap and can visit nice places, musea, ZOO, harbour.
stayed one night in this hotel. the Rooms are quite big to my surprise. the rooms are clean and very good for the price you pay. This hotel is walkable distance from the Antwerp Railway station. Very well situated and a lot of restaurant in few minutes walk. This hotel is perfect for business travellers
