Outstanding visit

Shelley’s Retreat is a house in Ann Arbor tucked away in an area replete with trees, large outdoor spaces and charm. We saw deer in the evenings and posted the goats kept at the outer edge of the large back yard. The house is thoughtfully equipped for small or large groups ( we were 7 including 3 kids): lots of space, great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, games, books etc. the host is responsive and friendly. She welcomed us with donuts and cider! lots of grocery and other stores nearby- and close to an iconic Detroit pizza place- Buddy’s. Just minutes from UM’s central campus. We enjoyed our visit and recommend the property.

Perfect for a football weekend

House was great, everything as described in the listing. Host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Kitchen was well equipped to cook a couple meals and checkout requirements were easy/minimal.

Shelly is amazing. She went above and beyond for our group. The property is spotless. There is tons of room. She even left me creamer for my coffee and donuts for the group as a welcome gift! What could be better!

I love Shelley’s retreat! It is comfortable, quaint and roomy with anything and everything you would need while you are there…. Including coffee for the coffee pot and coffee pods for the keurig! Close to everything yet an isolated feeling because it sets back on property. Will definitely choose to stay there again!

Country living just minutes from the Big House

This property was great. A short 7 minute drive from Michigan Stadium, you feel like you are in the country! Starbucks, grocery store, restaurants conveniently located just 2 minutes from the house. The communication with and availability of the owner throughout the stay was outstanding. The instructions upon arrival for using the house and the checkout process were simple and clear. I highly recommend this house. You'll love it.

Lovely grounds and friendly goats!

Shelley was very communicative and responsive to our needs during our stay. The house is not the best layout for infants (split level stairs are difficult to baby-gate) but we were able to find a good setup and Shelley helped accommodate our large family group including young kids + a couple infants. Everyone loved visiting daily with the goats in the backyard :) definitely recommend staying here if you want peace and quiet outside of Ann Arbor, it’s only a ~10-15 min drive to downtown.

Just the perfect retreat!

I rented "Shelley's retreat" for a weekend get-together with 10 of my high-school buddies. It was really the perfect place! The retreat: It's a lovely old house updated with all the modern amenities. The house is minutes away from a restaurant and grocery stores, and yet in its quiet bubble with zero road noise. The spacious backyard with a gazebo, a fire pit, and a convenient bar/serving counter is perfect for spending the evening with friends and family. The bedrooms and bathrooms are updated and nice. Even a small study is tucked away if you have to get some work done. There is ample parking space. There are three goats in a fenced-in lot next to the backyard who will come say hi to you if you get tired of the company you bring. One of them needs an attitude adjustment, but they are a nice bonus! Needless to say, Shelley, the owner, is exceptionally nice! She had donuts and stuff for coffee for the whole group waiting upon check-in. She answered all my questions before and during the stay very promptly. I not only had a very pleasant weekend, but I also made a friend!
