We were booked for one night but it was a night too many! What a dump! It's located in a rather unsavory neighborhood where I witnessed a street fight between two gangs. One of the first things we noticed was how absolutely dark the corridors/hallways of the hotel were. The automatic lights come on only after a person passes so when you step outside your room, the corridors/hallways are pitch black! As soon as we walked into the room, we noticed that the dressing table mirror was cracked right in the middle! As if that were not enough, the buffet dinner and breakfast were awful. Only plastic-wrapped bread rolls that were as hard as rock and not much else. The bathroom was the only thing that was nice. Never again!
No parking for vehicles. You have to rush your bags.Very small/smelly/damp rooms. No hot water/water pressure is rather poor. As booked we had dinner....O...M....G....Terrible.Every thing was cold.No taste at all.plain and half cooked. Avoid if possible.
Its a sham to be called a four star hotel. We were a part of a tour group and was booked in for one night here. Since there is no parking, we had to rush ourselves to get off the bus and go in with our luggage as our bus was blocking the main road. We were given our key cards, which I believe are not issued fresh as done in other hotels but have been pre programmed sometime ago and given to all guests. We had to find our way to our rooms and once we got there, we were shocked to see our rooms. The rooms were very very small and the decor gave one the impression that this was a very seedy joint. Had some very old furniture, a small TV , no place to keep the luggage and two people could not pass at the same time. The bathroom was worse. I think built only with thin people in mind! Hardly any space to move and definitely sitting on the commode was a challenge! Water pressure sure was very slow and no hot water. When we complained, the reception told us to keep the water running but after 15 minutes, we still didn't have hot water. ( the temperature outside was 2 degrees Celsius ) Once we complained about the room and no hot water, they gave us another room. Which was no better. Same type of decor, room slightly bigger. Bathroom same as before. As we were staying for one night and was on the road for almost 8 hours, we decided to stay in this room. The room had very poor sound proofing and we were constantly disturbed by the noise of vehicles on the main road to which our room was facing. Also, there was no drinking water or tea/ coffee making facility available. Only an old kettle. Bathroom amenities.... Three small bottles of shampoo only.. We were on half board basis and the dinner that was served was an absolute joke. The restaurant looked nice and we were hoping for a good meal. When we arrived, the salad was on the table already with butter and packeted bread rolls probably bought from the nearby supermarket. The main course consisted of two chicken drumsticks that tasted very bland, rice and potato wedges . When we asked for some sauce for the chicken, we were given ketchup and mustard dressing. The only decent thing given was the cream of chicken soup. The desert was an apple and an orange which was already on the table from the start of the meal. We were given a knife after the main course to eat the apple and the orange. The breakfast was also very disappointing. Only items that were actually cooked from the entire buffet was the porridge and the boiled egg. When asked for a fried egg, we were informed that that they have to charge for it. Never heard of this in my entire life! The staff were giving us the impression that they were doing us a favor by giving service, sometime we felt as if it was too much of a trouble for them. Over all our stay at the Turist Hotel was a disaster. We were in a group and all of us were very very disappointed with everything about it. I will never recommend this to anyone. AVOID ...AVOID...AVOID.. It's a shame to be called a four star hotel. Disgrace.
Hotel is so-so. Interior is too crowded for a small room but room and bathroom are clean. Hallway is dark cause the light will turn on by motion censor. One of the big NO for me is the location of this hotel where at night it's surrounded by night clubs strictly for adults while we were travelling with our teenage kids. It's not a good environment for them so we could not take a walk around this place after dinner. Not really recommended unless you are just on transit for a business trip.
For a solo male traveler looking for a nice hotel close to main and central offices in Ankara (Like central post office, etc.) with an easy access to every important part of city, it can be a good choice. But the neighborhood is not suitable for a family trip and isn't safe late at night. The hotel is cosy and clean. Rooms are good. Breakfast is ok and is like every other 3 or 4 stars hotels around Turkey. WiFi access is available everywhere inside hotel. "Çankırı caddesi" & "Ulus" are not clean areas and for a family trip I definitely NOT recommend this hotel. For a buiness or educational trip, specifically for male visitors I recommend this hotel if they can overcome the heavy traffic noises early in the morning and afternoon. As I said, for a business or educational trips, it's one of the best choices available in town for the price (~100TL for 1 person for night)
Crap hotel. Location sucks hard, dangerous area full of prostitutes. Room is OK but gave my brother a lot of allergy, moreover it's just old style. And I still do not get why the hotel staff has to retain your passport and return it only check out. Breakfast does not exist.
The staff do not know very good English but they try their best to be helpful, the location of the hotel is not the best in Ankara and not very clean either. The breakfast was good. The rooms were cleaned carelessy. But overall I would recommend the Hotel if you are in Ankara for business as I was
This hotel is very nice, clean and recently renovated; good but not excellent breakfast. Contrariwise the location not safe at night and very far from downtown... The service is good but they don't speak english, so difficult even to understand instructions and directions!
we booked 2 rooms via Ag**a, so our group of 4 people stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, for EUR 150s (374 TLira). The check in went smooth with the reception copied all our 4 passports. when we check out the only english speaking front deskman request us to pay extra change because we stay four people, while in the booking sheet it's written 2 room, 2 people. it was early morning and we should catch early plane so it's very horrible. initially the guy requested us to pay some 500lira and then reduced to 374lira (same amount) which is ridiculous since we dont use extra rooms. we would pay extra bed rates or around half amount but they guy keep intimidating us and threaten to call police. We ended up paying since we did not want to be late for boarding to airport. Another horrible thing, A room boy (Serkan) promised to take us to airport by his rentcar the previous night but even he did not show up during the morning we had the billing trouble. Stay away from this hotel or be careful!! To Turist Hotel Management, please check with your staffs and verify this story.
I am satying in this hotel at the moment with my husband and 3yo. Nicely decorated rooms. Has kingsize bed and a small sitting room. TV s in both rooms. Bathroom is a bit small, but clean and with modern amenities. Stuff is very helpfull and friendly. The hotel offers complimentary WIfi and breakfast. Carpeted rooms wall to wall, AC, comfortable bed, small safe, extra pillows, blow dryer. Breakfast is enough if you like it turkish style. I woul like to see pancakes or waffles added to the menu. Never the less, my daughter found enough things to eat, and that is enough for me :)
