The resort is right on the beautiful white sandy beach. It was so quiet and relaxing on the beach. Very few people around so we were truly able to enjoy ourselves. Right across the sea was Saint Marteen.
We have visited Anguilla many times, but this was our first stay at the Anguilla Great House. To say that we were pleasantly surprised by the property would be an understatement. AGH is a cute, laid-back, small, friendly hotel with an excellent location. Being steps from the beach, pool, or bar was feature without compare. The staff was fantastic. The room was very nice for the reasonable cost. A/C and ceiling fan kept us comfortable. Everything functioned as expected. Hot water was especially plentiful. The only thing lacking was an in-room safe. We will most definitely return to the AGH for our future visits.
Great location and not a lot of hassle. The best beach we have ever been on and there were only at most two other people within view. They said they had snorkeling equipment and it actually was a pile of broken sandy goggles in a closet.
The Anguilla Great House has some of the friendliest staff anywhere. The hotel is a great place to stay and I can say that since it is our second time there. If you are looking for the same amenities as the 500 dollar per night places this is not for you but if you want to spend your time on the beach for cheap this is it!.. Stay again, yes I would.
For the low price you have the best beach of anguilla, just stayed 3 days in this hotel, is clean, nice people, very quiet, and good food. One small problem is that have the public entrance to the beach next to the hotel, so you many people that aren't staying at the hotel are in your part. Yes, the hotel is old, but for the price all is clean every day and the stretch of beach in front is amazing. One more negative is they don't have too many umbrellas so you have to reserve them in advance. On a positive note, if you like local music and great bbq, Bankie Banks Dune Preserve is a ten minute beachfront walk so be sure to have a rum punch with amazing chicken and ribs. All-in-all, we plan on staying here during our next visit. Happy Travels!
Was there for 4 day around the 20th of may 2017 (off season) very quite only 8 rooms booked (despite booking sites saying ONLY 3 rooms left) so gives a bit of a deserted feeling. But after a day I enjoyed that. Staff knows who you are straight away. All of them are friendly and very helpful. A special thank to the receptionist MS Cheung, who went beyond her call of duty to find out about some of the flights and other helpful information, thank you again. Also the lady at night who served me in the restaurant very friendly. I originally booked for 2 nights but ended up another two night as this place is right on the beach and down the beach to the right about 600 meters just past another hotel you find according to CNN the best Beach bar in Anguilla, "The dune preserve" Rendezvous bay where the owner Bankie Banx often is there. Spend every afternoon there and they had live music just beautiful and very, very relaxing. Accommodation is basic but good, and good bed and air-conditioning. Good 3star but it is on a 6 star location. you wont be disappointed for the dollars you spend on other hotels
Hotel was excellent. Private and quiet during October. This time of year is called slow season alot of resturants and bars are closed. But we like it that way. The pool was well kept, and area clean. The beach was breath taking. Most beautiful beach I have ever seen. Hope to go back again.
I recommend this hotel and would stay here my next visit. The hotel is rustic and on a gorgeous beach with pretty calm crystal clear water. The hotel is not as fancy or food as good as some of the more expensive or larger hotels but its right on the beach. Walk out of your room and the beach in 30 seconds. Bed was comfortable, tv with many channels, very poor internet in room but works at pool, clean bathroom but nothing fancy at all. Food was hit or mis. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good eats/drinks/entertainment quick walk on the beach as well as a little further via cab.
Go here for the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and incredible view of the Caribbean. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. When you walk out the front door you see the ocean. You can eat there, or walk down the beach in either direction to get great food and drinks.
I really enjoyed the ambiance of Anguilla Great House with its standalone groups of rooms spread over a large lawn, sweeping grand stone walkway to the beach, proximity to the Dune Preserve (Moon Splash) and live music at the Shack just a little walk up the beach. Disadvantages were noisy airco unit, only one hanger in the closet, no hair dryer, a leak on the outside hallway floor on the way to my room (but it did get fixed as soon as I reported it) and understaffed restaurant. For the price you're paying I'd have to call it average, even though the beds were very comfortable, the towels were thick and large and there was plenty of drawer space. It had pluses and minuses, but this was my second visit, so I did come back. At the lower end of the prices available, my room had a covered porch with lounge chairs, but the view was mostly other roofs.
