We loved the views from the back deck! This is the perfect place to unwind for a few days. We stayed in July and it did get a little warm during the day, since there isn’t any air conditioning (we missed that info if it was listed in the description). However it wasn’t a big issue for us, we opened up the windows and it got nicely cool in the evenings. The lake nearby was a great place to kayak and there are also great hiking trails in the area. Overall, a great place to stay and probably a place we’ll come back to and stay again if we’re in Angel Fire in the future.
We had a great experience at Aspen SkyView! The only downside was the road to get to the home was quite steep and icy. Communication states a 4WD is suggested but it was pretty necessary during our stay.
Our large family enjoyed this beautiful home after Christmas! The kitchen is very well stocked for all you need. The view is gorgeous! You will definitely need 4 wheel drive in the winter. It was an easy drive to the slopes each day. Would note that the 2 futons downstairs are great for small children but not larger teens or adults! The couches we’re comfortable though :) Recommend this home!
The property is beautiful. It had everything we needed for our stay. The views of the mountains and wildlife are great. The beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of room for the 10 of us. The only problem we had was the top floor bathtub faucet did not work. Not sure if the pipe was frozen but you might check into that. The jacuzzi tubs and showers we’ll all perfect. I would recommend this home to everyone. If we return to Angel Fire we will definitely try to get this home again. Thank you for letting us dwell there during the Christmas holidays.

somewhat disappointed
One main reason why we chose this cabin was for the mountain view. We did not have access to the large deck from the cabin. It had snowed 2 days earlier and unfortunately, the deck was not cleared out. There was a small space of about a foot from the railing that looked to be cleared, but we could not take advantage of the beautiful weather that weekend and sit out on the deck and enjoy the view. We could not even open the doors leading to the deck because there was over 2 feet of snow against them and across the deck. Looked like the cabin was also equipped with a fire pit, but that was also full of snow. We did not have access to the driveway. There was a small driveway with only 2 car parking, we were advised by property mgmt. our guests could park on the street, however we saw signs posted "no parking on street" throughout the resort. There were dirty linens in the closets and no curtains in one of the bedrooms, which mgmt explained to me, the owner of the cabin had not decided whether they would replace the curtains. There was a curtain rod but no curtains. I used a blanket to cover the window to give our guests some privacy. There is 24 hours between cabin rentals, and check in was at 4 pm, these few issues should have been taken care of prior to our check in.
The house itself is good but small. There were only 2 of us there so it was fine for us, but the common spaces (living, dining, and kitchen) are quite small if you have several people with you. There is only seating for 5 in the living room.
There are spiral staircases to access the lower and upper floors which are very narrow and tricky to navigate if you are carrying anything. Full size suitcases are nearly impossible to get up the stairs.
The nicest bathroom is upstairs but not near the other two nicer bedrooms so it is an unusual configuration in the house.
We arrived in mid-April, with an All wheel-drive vehicle and it was TRICKY to get up to the house. There was at least a foot of snow over the bottom several steps and up to the front door which was impassable on foot. We had some weird communication with a rep from the management company who called us an hour before arrival time (and 3 hours into our travel to the house) to inform us the steps wouldn't be shoveled until the next day. We had no idea how much snow was there, but asked if there was at least a shovel there and were told "there is a shovel in the area..." We made several calls to try to clear up whether there was a clear path into the property prior to our arrival. Shortly after our arrival someone did show up to work on the steps. There was so much snow and ice to get through, he was there for nearly 90 minutes.
We appreciated them attending to the issue and would much have preferred for it to have been handled in advance and without us having to ask several times for a clear path to be made into the house.
I would strongly suggest that this home is a seasonal rental or that it is dependent on weather. Between the very remote location (which we loved), the super muddy and rutted road and the amount of snow that falls on that face of the mountain, it really needs some regular plowing and shoveling as well as communication about the accessibility of the property prior to someone booking.
We had several other maintenance issues while we were there and those were handled to our satisfaction. We appreciated the management company and built good rapport with them after a bit of a rocky start.
Would recommend this as an affordable place to stay that would be great for up to 6 people who want privacy and adventure. The deck and view are incredible! It is a cozy and sweet place.
