We stayed in Roc blanc at the beginning of the 2017/2018 ski season. I had stayed here previously before as part of a school trip and was mesmerized so I had to recommend it to my family to return. Firstly we arrived slightly early and the receptionists were more than helpful and quick!! Our rooms were ready for us before check in time . There were two members of staff with close to perfect English which we greatly appreciated as we had pretty much no Spanish or Catalan. Once we went to our rooms they were neat and tidy and well equipped for our stay. They were modern and clean and the beds were big and very comfortable. This theme carried on into the bathroom where there was a huge shower and bath and sink. Soap, shower gel and shower caps were supplied along with tissues and lovely balms for after a day on the slopes. The food was fabulous !!! For breakfast there was a huge selection of fruit and pastries and for dinner there was multiple choices on the menu. We had the pleasure of eating in both the quaint bar and the modern restraunt . The waiters made such an effort with their English and made sure we were looked after to the highest standards . They were top class. It was the first evening that I realized I had a problem. I had left a little carry-on rucksack on the bus we got from the airport to the hotel. We spoke to the receptionist on who happened to be Flore who thankfully had amazing English and she made some phone calls but there were no results . Later that evening we emphasized the importance of that bag to her and she was outstanding. She called multiple times to the bus station and was very informed in regards to local knowledge for example opening times and the everyday runnings of the two bus stations in Andorra . In the end she called the police and organized for us to meet them . She translated for us and in the end ensured we found the bag . She worked alongside another receptionist and the concierge from Brazil who was in fact so lovely . I couldn’t thank Flore enough for her persistence. The location of the hotel is one of a kind . It’s in the quiet area of Escaldes which is the main shopping district of Andorra. If you go straight out of the hotel across the square you reach the commercial strip and if you walk down that street by the shops you end up in La Vella in a matter of about 5 minutes. There are wonderful views from the hotel also and the bus stop is located right outside the front door which you can get the bus to the slopes from for just €1.80. The only thing is that the spa is €15 per person per visit which I consider to be very expensive. However it is a lovely clean facility with a very relaxing heated pool. The staff were also very friendly there . Over all this hotel is wonderful and one of a kind and I couldn’t recommend it enough. I would just like to highlight the effor made by the staff throughout the hotel to understand our requests and respond in English . We really appreciate it as we came to your country without a great knowledge of your language and are great full for your efforts. Ps. A huge heartfelt thank you again to Flore for all her hard work in finding my pink bag !!! Muchos Gracias
The main issue at this hotel is an internet. It’s a shame that 4 star hotel in civilized country in Europe has internet speeds slower than at the middle of the African desert. It’s irritating especially when the trip requires being online. Also the bar in New Years Eve refused to prepare Dry Martini at 8PM telling us that only beer and G+T were available! Not to mention pricey car park, additional costs of Spa, etc. when considering 4 nights for 1200EUR plus 470 EUR for NYE dinner. The NYE dinner was ok. Nice choice of food. Shame there was no vegetarian option. Nevertheless food was tasty. The band was also very good! A BIG respect for accepting dogs! This is a nice option.
I have no idea how this hotel is rated so high. The hotel is just terrible. Employees have no idea what customer service means and we even felt they hate guests.Check in process wasn't nice and we were not welcomed. We had a feeling that a lady at the reception is doing us a big favor. We ordered a room with a double bed and I confirmed it upon check in. When we came to our room we found out it has 2 separate beds. We were given a password for a WiFi but weren't told that it works only on smartphones but not on PC. When we called reception we were told that they won't tell us a password and we need to come down to reception with a laptop and they will introduce it. When we came to SPA we were asked if we want to have a massage and we agreed to have one at 8 pm. When I came at 8 pm I was offered a massage for tomorrow instead and said "no". Then I was asked to wait for a bit. I waited untill 8.10 pm and asked when I will be served. The response was: "We don't know just wait". I cancelled the massage and told that it's not a service I expected from a 4 star hotel but the lady started to argue with me. Such a shame. By the way the mattress on the bed is uncomfortable and pillows are just flat as a panckake. The only good thing was a breakfast.
Stayed in July 2017 for short two night shopping spree. Room was very clean and modern which extended into bathroom and the super size shower. Room over looked the square which was quiet and pleasant views around . Breakfast very nice and good variety of bread/meat & fruit with a few hot options. What made this a great stay was the fact we travelled with two small dogs and the hotel provided new dog beds, dog treats and new water dishes, this was the first hotel to provide this level of service that we have stayed in and is really thoughtful of the hotel and a winner for anyone who likes to take their pet along with them. We will certainly stay here again with our pets.
We recently spent a week in Andorra, and although we didn't stay in this hotel, we visited the bar every single evening. There is seating outside in the square, with artificial grass and pots of herbs and lanterns on the tables. It felt very relaxed and was a great place to watch the world go by. The square seems to host regular music events in the summer, which attract lots of families and create a brilliant atmosphere. The reason for us returning so often, however, were the staff. They made us feel very welcome, and we absolutely loved their sense of humour! Although the service was occasionally slow (particularly when we formed part of a larger group), they looked after us well and clearly enjoyed their work. After busy days of exploring, it was a real pleasure to unwind here each evening.
The hotel is a bit lost between modern and antique when it comes to physical and service features. I was fortunate enough to have their honeymoon suite with a 2 seater jacuzzi bath and a well designed room that gave you passage, lounge, seating area and bedroom. Lovely view of the City. Service a little on the poor side when it came to reception. Food very good. Cost benefit ratio puts this rough diamond in a gem at about 7,5/10
This hotel is a nice clean hotel but not really suitable for children as the pool is used as a therapy pool. The romantic dinner which is offered in a package is a little hit and miss although good when they decide on the menu.A little bit out from the main shops and uphill so not so good for older folks.
The hotel is old and needs renovations. NO AC in the rooms. Front desk told me they ONLY tuen it on if it's above 26 degrees IN THE ROOM! What?!? There are stairs everywhere. The access to the garage is rediculous and the charge 22€ a night. The WIFI is free but terrible speed. I just don't understand how this place can be 4 stars. The only positive is the low price and good location. The staff is OK but not 4 star either.
We were here for a conference. Some of the unfortunate "highlights" were: - doesn't accept payment in advance for guests you would like to invite (our guests ended up paying themselves because the reception staff was not able to put everything on one bill for our company) - very uncooperative front desk staff - low quality of food, no healthy choices, almost nothing vegetarian - no coffee cups for coffee break / non-working coffee machines for coffee breaks and breakfast and unattentive staff - uncomfortable pillows - rooms under the roof very hot during the day and very cold at night - no iron available (in a conference hotel..) - weird steps everywhere - generally: design and level of comfort dates back to 1980s Cannot recommend this hotel for business purposes and would personally also not spend my vacations here. No value for money...so sad.
Stayed here for a Conference. The number of delegates meant that the wifi is patchy. We all complained. Room fine, but no shower gel until I asked! No tissues. Sloppy housekeeping. Breakfast very average. Scrambled eggs cold. Good cheese and cold cuts. Poor fruit selection. Had to queue for tea and coffee machines which regularly broke down. Understaffed Other staff were helpful and friendly. Internal design of hotel bizarre. Far too many unexpected steps and I bet there have been accidents. Don't take Grandma here!
