Looks very normal on arrival but as the week went on it just got better & better. The service from Reception to Restaurant was really sincere. Nothing was too much trouble , excellent front of House Girl called Palome helped with all our requirements and as a big family we had a few. Good games atmospnere every evening in the bar incorporating family fun, fussball, pool, pinball & live footie on TV. The Food in the restaurant breakfast & dinner was superb, fresh fruit, pastries , salads, way too much food to sample. Really impressive selections. Coffee not great & the walls are very thin in the bedrooms would be my 2 little gripes but overall a fantastic very friendly hotel. Will definitely return.
This hotel is very clean and is what you would expect from a four star. The staff are helpful, friendly and polite. The food is varied and tasty. All in all I had absolutely no complaints and would highly recommend it for family or friends going on a ski trip. It is located about 100 yds from the ski slope and has locker facilities. However as we were big après ski fans we hired a locker at pas 83 locker room on the slopes. This was beside the bars! The bar in magic pas hotel is very family orientated and not for après ski in my opinion. It has a snooker table and games and serves more as a common room. This wasn’t a problem for us though as we headed off to other bars. Great for families though. This also meant that once in the hotel at night it was quiet and we were able to get well rested. Thanks Magic Pas for a great stay in March 2018 !
Had a wonderful time last week staying at this hotel, it was very conveniently located close to the shops and slopes. The staff were excellent, very efficient at checking us in, great English. We couldn't fault the food at all, there was so much choice with something different every evening. The breakfast was excellent, again with s wide selection - 6 kinds of milk!, hot and cold buffet, omelettes etc. and plenty of fruit. The staff were constantly restocking everything so nothing ran out, even on the day we were last at breakfast. The room was got had a double (2 beds together) and a single, so we had plenty of space for all our gear. We stayed on the 3rd floor, which we worried might be noisy, but wasn't. We had a lovely cleaning lady serve our room each day. Our transfer to our flight home was at 3.30am but there were enough staff at reception to help organise our bags (and gave us out breakfast goody bags for the journey, that our DirectSki rep arranged 🖒) The lifts were quite slow, so we just took the stairs 2 floors, but if we had been on the 8th or 9th floor that could have been annoying. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to label a few of the dishes at dinner, as some were very nice but I didn't know what they were called / sauces they were in!? We would definitely use the same hotel again, thanks Magic Pas for a great week. (Ireland winning the Grand Slam in the rugby was a big positive of the week too!)
We came yesterday and my first impression are great. Good rooms, great lacation, perfect breakfast. Now it goes to the slopes. Soo I will in the days give some helpful reviews The hotel are the main street i the center of the city among shops , and shops and hotels :-)
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed staying at Magic! It’s our first time to Andorra, and we didn’t know what to expect. We were greeted by friendly staff member, Paloma, at reception who knew the area well and was happy to help us with our questions. There is the pyrenees shopping centre across the road, we needed a multi plug adapter thing! They also sell super discounted Milka bars! So does the supermarket next door to Magic. It is all very conveniently located. Maybe two minute walk to the Pas de la Casa bus stop if you arrive/depart by bus like we did. The back entrance we used more often to get to the slopes. Maybe one or two minute to walk down to the ski lift. You will pass two Pic Nigre shops on the way, where you can rent quality equipment from or buy! It’s good value! The FOOD has variety for all. Often it’s plain so you can mix and match to your taste which is perfect for me. There are healthier and less healthy options. Lots of vegetables and meat selection... and CHeESE!!! Breakfast has fresh made eggs/crepes/omelettes, and dinner usually has fresh cooked meats, she can serve it straight from cooking on the hot plate in front of you.
A family of four, two adults and two older teens we stayed here in a large quad room, (one continental style double bed & two single sofa beds) arranged in such a way it felt more like an apartment (#416). The staff were very friendly and polite. The room was clean & comfortable, with good wifi. There was a small fridge which we used to chill our own drinks. Breakfast had something for all of us, and plenty of it, as did dinner, with meat & fish straight from the grill everyday, or traditional style dishes (or all if you wanted), along with various salads and deserts. The ski lockers in the basement were free with a 10 euro key deposit, easily fitted 3 sets of skis, and only a short walk to the slopes. The spa area, was compact, with the Sauna, Steam & jacuzzi seating four comfortably or six at a push, but at 3 euros each, it wasn't bad at all, and never busy when we went before dinner (6-8ish). We drove from Barcelona (3.5 hours and parked in the multi storey just up the road above a hyper market) We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in a 4 bed room. Quite spacious. The heating system was good enough. Friendly and attentive staff. We did not have 4 sets of towels but just ask at reception. Dinners with good quality and relative variety. The lockers for the snow material are adequate. The free wi-fi internet is really bad. At breakfast there is only 1 type of bread and they could vary the cereals, at least they should make available the typical cornflakes instead of some more specific. Maybe it needs a refurbishment to modernize.
Hotel Magic entrance is sandwiched between 2 shops but covers 9 floors. On arriving at the hotel where our luggage had been deposited by our tour company Neilson, we then had to try and get 2 large suitcases up the stairs to the reception desk. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. We were given our room key and shown where the lift was yes 1 small lift from the reception to all floors. Our room was fairly large with a view over the front of the hotel. No tea making facilities available in the rooms so have to wait for breakfast for the first cuppa of the day. Breakfast is served from 07.00 to 10.00 buffet style. And it's like a free for all with everybody pushing and shoving to get their breakfast. Evening meal is served from 19.00 to 22.00 and the same help yourself but you get all the small children running around with plateful of food and parents not controlling them there is no organisation. Over the period of 5 days there has been a different fish on the menu every night ( Allright if you like fish). Our rooms are cleaned every day and clean sheets every 3 days, towels are changed on demand if you leave the used ones in the bath for the cleaner. I would have given this hotel 4 stars but i am not overly impressed definitely not 5 stars.
I stayed at this hotel from 14-21 January 2017, having previously stayed at this hotel we made the decision to book here again. We booked with Neilson and went on a half board basis, the rooms were basic but cleaned daily and has everything that you would need for a ski holiday. Each room has its own wifi which is great as the connection is excellent. The reception staff were great and the check in was quick and easy, two lifts to get you up to your rooms, request a higher up room as it can be quite noisy outside at night. The bar is great with a pool table and table football, plenty of tables with sofas to relax on. The beer at the hotel was the cheapest we encountered at €5.60 for two pints. We didn’t use the ski lockers as we stored our skis and boots next to the slope at Pas 83 so we didn’t have to carry them back up to the hotel. This was purely down to laziness and in fact it was probably only a 3-4 minute walk back to the hotel from the slope. Now the downside, the food for us was not good at all, we struggled to find things to eat on a few occasions, unless you can live off pizza and chips all week then you will be fine but the meat that is cooked fresh was sometimes left up to the imagination. We didn’t make it to breakfast so cant really comment on this. If the food improved then we would definitely return to this hotel as it is a great place to stay when skiing.
My wife and I normally stay in a serviced chalet when we go skiing but this year we decided to try a hotel. Having been to Andora previously we wanted this time some where which is quite central and has good apre ski reviews along with the chance to do a bit of duty free shopping. The Magic hotel is central in Pas De La Casa and the resort offers the other requirements but to concentrate on the hotel. We have found the hotel to be very modern and clean offering free wifi. The staff are very friendly and our room is very nice if not basic. The room is cleaned daily with towels changed on demand and sheets every 3 days. The hotel has two lifts which frustratingly always seem to be on other floors and take an age to get to your floor, a real pain after a long days skiing and the stairs are not an option. We booked our holiday via Nielsen which included the hotel. The hotel is use by holiday makers from all over Europe and some from further a field ie Russia etc. It should also be kept in mind that UK school holidays are not the same as other countries, we had a large nuber of kids staying when we were here which if you are looking for a kids free enviroment, then this is not the place. It didnt affect our holiday but we would much prefer not to have kids running around the place when trying to relax or eat your food. I have rated this hotel a 3 star and the reason I have not gobe for a 4 star is not because of the kids but because of the poorly organised, free for all, cattle market which is breakfast and evening meals. The food is well cooked and the variety is not bad although it would be much nicer if it was hot and not just warm. The deserts win the day though, great selection and not a low calorie offering to be seen apart from the odd bit of fruit. The problem lies with once you go in and give your room number, you are show to a table, all good to this point. Then because it is buffet style and everyone else from the hotel is there, is just mayhem, pushing and shoving trying to see and get what you want to eat. Breakfast is the worst, if we were not so keen to get on the slopes it would almost be worth waiting and having a late breakfast. Evening meal is slightly better but I have to think there must be a better way. Overall the hotel is nice and if you can put up with the mayhem at meal times then you wont be too dissapointed.
