Great location with large, warm and comfortable rooms. Across the street from the Gandola entrance to Grandvalira and located in a community with plenty of dining and post ski establishments. The hotel sits above several bars which can go long and hard into the night, so don’t be surprised by street noise.
Unpleasant exchange with the reception team on arrival; mix up over ID that they wanted me to provide. Told me that they need it because they send the details to the police every day (would like to know where you inform your guests that you do this and the reason for it...?). Large room (4th floor) decorated once in circa 1992. Looks tired and worn... nice greeting in the bathroom with a “sterilised” plastic film on my toilet (thanks, because I worry sometimes whether I will have a clean toilet in the hotels I stay at). Breakfast was mediocre... and a little bit like a circus. To be fair, we did arrive at the busiest time, never the less the eggs were cold, the bacon was soft and the coffee machine is the slowest I have ever used... (90 seconds for a long black coffee!). 1 star for the location (right opposite the Soldeu télécabine), and 1 star for running water and electricity in the room with a foot that locks! I wasn’t exactly expecting the Heritage Sports Hotel, but I was expecting much more than what I experienced (and paid for). Needless to say, we won’t be back, and we certainly recommend you consider other hotels in the area.
stayed here recently on a skiing holiday, hotel excellent meals very good, staff extremely helpful, our room was superb especially as it was at the rear away from the road, very clean and spacious, would definitely recommend a stay here.
this was very clean and well maintained for a ski resort hotel with little signs of the wear and tear you would usually see with a ski hotel. possibly due to the policy of limiting boots to the underground carpark and ski locker room. rooms were basic but clean and big enough for a ski trip. hotel staff were friendly particularly those in the restaurant which was excellent. the food at breakfast and dinner was varied with something for everyone. the grill where the chef would cook in front of you proved popular with the guests when I was there. Food was also very tasty; it was hard to know where to start and stop. I definitely over ate! the bar area was sizeable and comfortable with games just off to the side for kids and big kids. I didn't use the gym, sauna or Jacuzzi but heard good things from those I spoke to who did. it was about 2-3 mins walk to the gondola station (about 150m). there are ski lockers in the hotel but you can also hire these at the gondola if you don't like a 2-3 min walk uphill in the morning. there was a good selection of apre bars close by. We had the Harp underneath the hotel, Fattys behind, Aspen about 30m to the right and Barcode about 30m to the left. its great if you like apres ski but this did lead to some noise for brief period into the early hours on a couple of evenings.
I stayed here for a week in March while doing a ski course. I chose the hotel due to the location which is a one minute walk to the cable car station. It was a bit expensive but surpassed my expectations. Clean and comfortable, spacious rooms. My room was second floor overlooking the street but I was not disturbed by any noise. I was half board. The dining room was buzzy and informal, with a good standard of buffet for morning and evening. At both meals, a chef would cook for you on a griddle. The stand out about this hotel was that the staff were universally charming and helpful. I would certainly stay here again.
We are staying here now on the third floor March 21 2018. The room is huge, on the front overlooking slopes and as yet the only noise we hear are the road sweepers clearing snow in the morning, no noise from bars etc. Staff In Restaurant all seem very friendly, food sometimes could be a little hotter but a good choice. Don’t recognise it to be the same hotel as some of the comments!
I'm currently in the hotel now, it is our last night here after a weeks stay. The reason I am writing this review now, is because the noise level around this hotel is preventing any chance of sleep. I would not recommend the hotel for this reason.
Group of 8 stayed in this hotel last week (04/03/18), this is the third time in this hotel the last time was back in 2005, and none of the 4 rooms we stopped in had changed in all these years, so those pictured in their advert must be few and far between. I'll get the negative stuff out of the way 1st and please don't let it put you off. We had rooms on the 3rd floor and if your some one who's out to all hours then you could loose a bit sleep, this is where you have to take the good with the bad, good being you are right over some of the best bars in resort, live music, so if you like us get straight off the slopes and straight in the bars to listen to a little bit of live music and go over the day's adventures and falls, then backup for evening meal it's great, other's are back out and down the bars until 3 am and they know how to party, great for them bad for those trying to get a bit of sleep. The hotel is great position for get up on to the piste, just a short walk (5 min) to the main cable car and the main locker room, the hotel as a locker room but for a small charge it's worth taking a locker at the station, other tip is cable car can get very busy so take the lift to the bottom floor and walk across the bridge to the chair lift and save 10 min. To sum up we all had a great week skiing or boarding, with some good evenings, meals OK but not great, rooms are clean (daily maid service) slowest bar service I have ever seen had to wait 25 min while the bar maid made a few cocktails, but still a nice friend bar area with other just chilling out and getting that well earned rest, I would have no problem going back here, there are better hotels but you will have to pay the price plus other will be further from the main lifts
Travelled with my family in February 2018. Rooms terrible, could not get in or out of bed or open wardrobe. Asked to change rooms, offered either on the same or one with no opening window and the window looked into a ventilation shaft. Choice of food was ok but was cold most nights. One lady in the restaurant was horrible but the rest were ok. Lounge was cold and we sat in our coats most nights, wood burning stove is a light bulb behind glass and not hot at all. Skiing was fab but hotel was terribly lacking.
We traveled on the 2nd February with our family for a weeks skiing. We were on a totally different floor to our children. We complained, we were offered two other rooms, one did not have an opening window and the window looked into a ventilation shaft and the other was the same as the one we were in. We traveled as a party of 7 and we could not eat together as they would not put tables together. The food was cold. The lounge is freezing and we sat in out coats after dinner. I have traveled to numerous ski resorts and have had stayed in very good 2 star hotels, and as long as there is something to eat and its warm I am really not that fussy. I would never go to this hotel again, it was cold, the staff were rude, the food was cold. The red wine was nice. I could not open the wardrobe and we had to get into bed from the bottom, we did not have a bedroom we had an alcove with no door. I am currently conversing with our holiday provider. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
