Going out to discover Amsterdam and surroundings or just finding your quiet spot when working or relaxing, up to four can enjoy a lovely place on one of the Canals.

Everything is within reach, as well as a filmmuseum, 100m high lookout or just a nice restaurant next to the water or even beach. Also going out for nature is a 15 min tour on a bike or car. Or visit one of the famous Musea Amsterdam has by walking up to one of the free Ferries and get into the tram or metro. Even by bike it is only 20 minutes away.

Your host has a lot of knowledge on where one can go, all depending if it needs to be a local, cultural experience or just for food and good music. It's all there you just have to make something good out of it.

Excellent little apartment. My only recommendations would be to have screens on the back door to prevent mosquitos and another fan. A small microwave would have been nice but not necessary. I would recommend and stay there again.

Great place to stay! 10min walk from downtown. The outdoor patio was a great space to enjoy while there. Edwin was super friendly and gave us some great tips on where to go and even a little history on the area. One of the first things you should know is that this is a carved out space of the boat house, it is not a house on its own. If you like to get rest during the day(like we tried), there was a lot of noise from a neighbor doing construction and on another night while in the bedroom around 8pm you can hear a full conversation being had from the room upstairs which kept me from getting rest. There are no TVs on the property and it did feel very small, trying to get 4 luggages packed before leaving was a Challenge as you barely had enough floor or tablebspace to lay things out. This is not a place for people who don't like tight quarters. Another thing that seemed like a miss was that we were only provided 2 rolls of TP for a group of 4 for 2 nights which is just annoying that you have to go out and find TP somewhere because host didn't provide enough. They did provide shampoo and one set of towels we had to reuse throughout the stay. Overall I'd say this is ok but I'm not sure it's made entirely clear by the property description that you are not in a house on its own, you are sharing a house boat with its own entrance and closed off living space and kitchen.

Cozy houseboat stay

We arrived in Amsterdam as the final leg of a 17 day European vacation. Check in and out was easy, Edwin was a wealth of info and the home is spotless. We happened to be there one day that the weather was horrible - cold, rain and VERY high winds,,,a perfect crash day for us to stay inside and rest. Comfy beds. Walking distance from the central train station and a grocery store nearby.

Wonderful stay on modern houseboat

Very comfortable stay on a modern house boat- highly recommended. The rooms are cosy and we had all we needed with some lovely personal touches. There was even an Christmas tree for us. Edwin was a great host and very considerate with good communication. The location is good and the free ferry from the Central Station works really well- we never waited more than a minute or two.

Fantastic stay in the perfect location for exploring

The boat itself is great for a cozy stay. It’s nice and warm and in great condition. There are 4 single beds that are together to essentially create 2 doubles so it’s a bit cozy if you’re sharing with friends. The location is perfect as it’s just about a 10min walk from the free 24/7 ferry into the centre. Theres also plenty to see on the north side of the river. Would highly recommend this stay.

A two bedroom apartment in a houseboat. Newly renovated, with the benefit of a small kitchen. A quiet location, only a quick ferry ride from downtown. Highly recommended for those wanting a unique experience.

Cozy houseboat

Overall this was a pleasant stay. This is a cozy two-bedroom houseboat. One bedroom has a daybed and the other room is two twin beds which can be pushed together. Compact but well-equipped kitchen, suitable for small meals but not meant for serious meal preparation. Beds were comfy. Edwin was easy to reach while we were there. A couple of things to know - the location is both a plus (quiet, nice neighborhood) and a minus (the walking to and from the ferry to get to central station got a little old). You cannot control the temperature inside the unit - the control is on Edwin's side. It's not the kind of place you're going to linger unless you're there in summer and can sit outside - there's really only one chair to sit and read in - there's plenty of seating in the kitchen, though, so comfortable for eating. All in all, a good rental and a good value for what's available in Amsterdam.

Great Boat House

Lovely quirky houseboat in perfect location

We had a great stay, with lots of excellent assistance and communications from Edwin. This is a unique way to enjoy Amsterdam, close to this beautiful city (a free ferry ride right to Centraal station is 10 mins walk/ 2 mins cycle), but also a peaceful spot close to lovely countryside. We hired bikes and rode out through fields to villages, then straight onto the very regular ferry and into the city... the place is cosy, well appointed. bedrooms are small but fine for family of four for a short stay. loved it, and Edwin was super helpful.

Edwin's houseboat is a lovely little property, with all the essentials. It was very clean, excellent shower setup, and the 10-15 minute walk to the ferry across the IJ to Central Station makes the location quite convenient. Modern house boat for great short city break

Lovely location on a quiet canal away from the old city centre. It is very close to modern attractions such as the Eye museum, Lookout Tower and This is Holland but also has very easy access by ferry, which links directly to the main transport hub (train, metro, bus) as well as to the old city centre. Accommodation is quite compact (we are a family of four, two teenagers) but was very clean and modern and perfect for a short stay.It was a novelty to watch the ducks and moorhen swimming by while we had breakfast! Edwin was very helpful, responding to any online queries really quickly and was a great source of advice and tips while we were staying. Would highly recommend and would book again.

Great location to see the heart of Amsterdam

My husband and two daughters stayed here and it was a wonderful location. The house was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. Edwin was very helpful with places to visit and made us feel so welcome. Everyday we walked the short distance to the free passenger ferry where we could then explore museums, canals, and enjoy all types of food. We would definitely stay here again!

Only minutes to free 24/7 ferry to downtown Amsterdam, close to all, restaurants, supermarkets, bike rentals, etc. Very quiet area. Great host, good communications, fast check in, available for advice on where to go.

Great experience!!

Who wouldn’t want to stay in a real houseboat in Amsterdam….seriously? We so enjoyed our stay there. Out your living room window were all kinds of ducks swimming by. Nature is all around you. The area is very quiet at night which was what we wanted. Each evening, we sat around the kitchen table with wine, and charcuterie, sharing photos, and planning the next days’ activities. Lots of laughs! We were not far from the historic centre- it is a very short 10 min walk to the ferry which took us to the Central train station and onward from there. It’s a walking city but beware of the cyclists, they rule!! In all, we really enjoyed our stay at the houseboat! Add that to our bucket list!! Thanks Edwin and Bia!

Had a good stay in the apartment. Rooms were clean. Location was not amazing but the ferry does run consistently. Wish we could’ve had a dock — that was something that we expected.
