Sadie Thompson Inn

We stayed at the Sadie Thompson Inn for 2 nights. We also enjoyed the restaurant for dinner twice and lunch once-the menu was lovely and provided lots of options for us to choose from. Our room was cozy and the tea/coffee bar was an added bonus! We enjoyed our comfortable stay at the Sadie Thompson Inn!

Sadies Inn (by the streets) is the only restaurant in AS you can get a good ol' Tomahawk steak. Their prices are a bit steep, but I've enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Shout out to Barb for being an excellent waitress. I could not have lunch there for a year and she would know exactly what I want from the menu. 👌🏾

This charming old Inn has retained its character, whilst ensuring guests are comfortable in well appointed spacious rooms. I was fortunate enough to be in the Sadie Thompson suite, and made a point of re-reading Somerset Maugham's short story, Rain as I relaxed in my sitting room overlooking the busy harbour. Very romantic! Sadie's staff were all incredibly polite, helpful and friendly, going out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Pago Pago. The free transport to and from the airport was an added bonus. Breakfast isn't available at Sadie's Inn so we strolled down to Sadie's by the Sea where we could charge our food to the room. Excellent service, with generous portions. All in all, a very enjoyable 2 day break in American Samoa.

Large clean room, strong air conditioner, central location and a decent restaurant on site; what's not to like? Was fortunately in town during the Flag Day celebrations and this hotel was a good central location for being able to see the different things going on.

Just checked in last nite after the flight from HI. Room was very clean, pleasant, nice TV, and surprised by how great the view is of the Pago Pago harbor. This is my 4th visit to this property and I stay for a couple of weeks at a time for business. Each stay here seems to get better. I think because the staff really cares and take the time to get to know their guests. I've stayed at other properties which are nice, but I vastly prefer this location due to the in-house restaurant and ease of getting around as well as the quality standards of the property and mostly the entire staff. I think the restaurant is fabulous in that it has a romantic feel in the dining room coupled with a upbeat, fun environment in the bar area (pool table, good sports on tv, great music, awesome service, etc). The chef is out in the bar area from time to time which is neat because you can ask what is the fresh catch of the day. Other things to mention that like: Again the rooms are clean and nice. The staff makes you feel welcome. If you ran into a problem I feel the true, wonderful Samoa custom of being helpful will be there to assist you. Also, the laundry service is inexpensive and practical. I actually pack lighter due to that amenity. You also get to use the Sadie's by the Sea beach and pool and I find the local family-run bus service that frequently goes by the hotel to be all I need in terms of transportation other than an occasional cab ride or lift from a local.

I've lost count of the number of times I've stayed at Sadie Thompson Inn. Its location if you are fishing cannot be beaten. As usual the staff are hugely welcoming, and they look after you amazingly. And the meals are top class. Thank you all for another memorable stay.

My wife and I were in American Samoa to explore the National Park and the coral reefs. We chose Sadie Thompson because it was centrally located and within my budget. It's a hot, humid place in American Samoa, but the air conditioning did fine in the room. Wifi wasn't very strong, but I did manage a Skype audio call with it without an issue. We were able to walk to hiking trailheads and down to Sadie's by the Sea (its sister property). Even though we stayed at Sadie Thompson (which is the quieter of the two), we could use the beach at Sadie's by the Sea. It's not a big beach, but swimming out a short ways brings you to a coral reef with tropical fish and sea turtles. The dining at the two locations is also quite different. Sadie Thompson's is more formal/expensive (and the dessert is really good). Sadie's by the Sea is more casual/budget eating. The staff at both locations are very nice and happy to help out with storing a bag by the front desk, coordinating shuttles to the airport, and talking about things to do while on the island.

I came to American Samoa to conduct a series of community education lectures on the current state of Birthright Citizenship. I selected the Sadie Thompson Inn as my home base due to this central location and previous reviews. Throughout my 6 day stay, the staff of the Sadie Thompson Inn was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Please do not mistake this property for its sister property, Sadie's by the Bay. This location is a much quieter, sedate locale than the property on the bay. It was perfect for relaxing while staying out of the heat. The restaurant in the hotel was a nice, more formal dining establishment than most of the rest of the island's eateries. During the times I was not teaching, I was able to explore some of the incredible and pristine natural sights of this beautiful island paradise. The hotel is ideally situated for short day trips around the leeward and windward sides of the island. My room was clean and maintained with a separate sitting area along the windows facing the main street. The free wifi was not the fastest I have seen, but sufficient for email and light research. I would not try to stream video on it. There is a McDonald's across the street with good, free wifi available (as well as Big Macs!). I was able to swap out my sim card for one from the local provider at a reasonable cost. I also recommend renting a car to get around the island. People here are warm and friendly. Time, however, is a relative concept. Keep your relaxed island outlook going and you won't mind the equally relaxed attitude toward punctuality. American Samoa is a lot like Hawaii without the tourists and tourists traps. Go Hang Out with Sadie and the gang and you'll come home with a new and improved outlook on life.

I definitely recommend staying at this place as you get well looked after! And the resturant down stairs does the best feed! Also the full bar is a great atmosphere! We were there on a fishing trip and and its in a great location!

We popped in for a drink in the bar No drinking on Sunday Friends had the chowder and enjoyed it Wifi is available but not the best Bar was very cold and dark but there is not much else around They did have a sports channel on the TV American football seems very popular
