We were woken up to the sound of a gun shot. Sure enough someone got shot, police arrived quickly. The next morning when we go to leave the medical supplies and blood were still on concrete sidewalk.

Great place to stay!
This is a very well renovated hotel that was very comfortable and had so many amenities that our kids really want to go back again. And the attached steakhouse restaurant exceeded all expectations and is very very nice. We would definitely stay here again.

First, I want to give the girl at the front desk kudos for being so nice despite the fact that she was there when I arrived at 9pm and also when I left at 9am. I walked in to the lobby and was overwhelmed by the smell of mold/mildew. I was too exhausted to complain about the shabbiness of the room. The sheets were clean but the rest of the room left much to be desired. I slept in my clothes, as I did not want the mildew odor to get on anything else. I woke up the next day to go and grab the "free full breakfast". Nope. The waffles, toast, pastries, and beverages were free. Eggs, sausage and potatoes were an extra charge and I only had my room key with me. I could not even charge to the room which was across the hotel so I did not receive the "full" free breakfast advertised on the listing. There was only one working elevator. Many of the outside stairways were blocked off due to being collapsed or unstable. There was hair in the bathtub and mildew stains all over the tub tiles. I didn't want to touch anything. While I was sufficiently rested to make the 11 hour drive to Phoenix the next morning, I was miserable because I could not even shower in this smelly room. Disappointed is an understatement.

Plesant suprise
I was almost dissuaded by a bad review about "construction" issues but we came into town late and needed a place to crash so I went ahead and booked last minute. I cannot say enough about the value for the price. It is obviously an older motel in the process of renovation. Our room was spotless with a comfortable bed with updated decor. The courtyard was magical with strings of lights, a fountain with Koi fish, hanging basket chairs and a mini golf course for the kids. We didn't have time to enjoy the indoor pool, maybe next time. We slept soundly and were surprised by the full hot breakfast offerings.

We were skeptical about renting this hotel for the night. The front desk lady suggested to booked the deluxe rooms since they r the ones that are updated and clean. The rooms are spacious we did had an issue with dog hairs on a room and they were able to move me to a different room. They have indoor pool swings mini golf and pickleball. Very family friendly we will return to this hotel.

What you get is not what’s advertised. Rooms smelled of smoke and fungus. The friendly staff offered a different room but it was only one bed and right on top of a bar with loud music till 2am. Decided to keep the room but ultimately had to pack at 3am and leave as the poor cleanliness triggered our daughter’s asthma.

The room assigned to us smelt of mold and the room wad dark. They gave us un "upgraded room". Haha. It was fine for 1 night. The restaurant was excellent!!

I could hear the traffic throughout the night and the beds weren’t very comfortable! We stayed two nights! The pool was nice and the breakfast was good! The cleaning staff and front desk were friendly!

It was great. Just a quick weekend trip, and if we go to Amarillo again we would pick this hotel again. The location was perfect, the price was great, and its a very unusual hotel with the indoor pool in the middle, but our niece just loved it and we were very comfortable. I could give a couple “cons” to this hotel, but those would be alleviated at a higher price point no doubt or by us choosing a different and more expensive hotel. We got what we paid for I think, and it was a perfectly nice stay.
