The owner met us at the port after we arrived by boat. He walked us through town and up the many stairs to our hotel telling us about its rich history. He was super kind and accommodating! The view and outdoor terrace were breathtaking! My favorite place to stay in Amalfi so far 🇮🇹❤️

Thanks to the property manager he supplied me with a video to get to the hotel as it is slightly confusing but wasn’t a problem with the video. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. Open the windows and see Amalfi and the giant mountains.

Wonderful stay! The owner Gianfranco is a very hospitable and pleasant person, he did everything to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. He provided us with a guide and we were able to easily get to our destination. The room that we rented was quite large, clean and with a very interesting design. The view from the terrace is breathtaking! We want to come back here, and of course we will highly recommend this amazing place to everyone!

Casa Mao staff and manager was very helpful. He met us at the port to guide to his hotel. Also, very well managed facilities with nice rooftop. You should be aware of 150steps to get to the Casa Mao but its pretty normal for Amalfi hotels. I highly recommend Casa Mao in Amalfi.

Our room at Casa Mao was beautiful and extremely clean! Great views just outside of the building and terrace that we unfortunately didn’t check out. The only con is the amount of stairs to get to the building, but after walking them you deserve the pizza you’ll be eating!

Lovely guest house with beautiful views

The owner, Gianfranco, was very accommodating and went the extra mile to make our stay at Casa Mao a wonderful time. The guest house itself was lovely - clean, spacious and very well maintained - and the large roof terrace had the most beautiful views of Amalfi. Casa Mao was hard to find initially, but Gianfranco was very helpful getting us and our luggage up the many steps - it is quite a climb but worth it! We would highly recommend Casa Mao if you need somewhere to stay in Amalfi.

Perfect stay!

Casa Mao is a brilliant place to stay in Amalfi and a great base for exploring. We were very well looked after by Gianfranco from the moment we arrived as he met us at the port and continued to give us great tips throughout our time. Casa Mao has sculptures made by Gianfrancos grandfather, Mao, which were a lovely personal touch and you can see more in the town as well. The room itself was beautiful and was very spacious. They provided a classic italian breakfast each morning which you can have on the rooftop terrace with amazing views over Amalfi!

There are 150-plus steep stone steps one has to climb with lugguage to reach the B and B. Realizing this is true for many of the small hotels in the area, it was strenuous. Giancarlo is a generous and warm host. The property was designed with care and love, and respect for his family history.
