NH Collection Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi

We had a great stay at NH Collection Grand Hotel in Amalfi. The place is an old convent, subtly converted into a hotel. This was done a long time ago in the early 20th century and has been kept as a hotel, restored, refined and up to date-made in the 2000nd. The "cloister feeling" is eminent, but not in any way confined. On the contrary, the space is open and welcoming. Standard rooms are a bit small (this is indeed a cloister), but very comfortable and with great view over the cliffs leading down to the Amalfi town. As you would expect, service, amenities and comfort is top notch in this five star - which it lives up to. Beautiful walking sites along the "monks promenade". And you could - and should - take the stroll from up there down to the Amalfi town. It's a ten-fifteen minutes walk to reach Amalfi. The Amalfi coast is not a thing for the faint hearted drivers. Remember: you are near to Napoli and the complete chaos of non existent driving rules. If you do arrive by car, you are comforted by the professional staff of NH Collection - they take care of your car in their garage. However, be aware that your first stop at the hotel boasts a rather busy preliminary parking just opposite the entrance of the hotel. From there - drop it: they take care of your car and you take the elevator up to the reception, some 30-40 m up the cliff... Extraordinary good breakfast with an overwhelming output of things you would like (and not like) on your breakfast table. Dinner in the restaurant was very pleasant. Not Michelin class - but very well done Italian cuisine. Recommended!

very nice hotel with great sea view. my hotel has a balcony and make it even better since you can enjoy the wonderful wine waiting us as a welcome. the swimming pool is great. the room had a nice size.

Suberbe location overlooking the Amalfi bay in a unique and beautifully restored monk convent in minimalist luxury style, with citrus gardens and a superb pool. Shuttle service, elevators from street level all the way to the hotel and a lovely private pedestrian path makes it extra-convenient to go to the village yet remain above the fray and bustle when desired. Spa and massage was subpar for a hotel of this quality at time of visit, but manager took care of the charge.

We stayed at this hotel in a Junior Suite with special view and terrace for five days to explore the region. We found Amalfi to be an excellent location since its easy to arrange transportation as busses leave the station on time. Busses don't always arrive on schedule if you are in other towns on the Amalfi coast. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a welcome drink for two in the bar area while they prepared our room for us. The first night or two, our room had a strong smell of fresh paint, but it soon went away. We raised the issue to the front desk immediately and Michela did her best to find a comparable room for us. On the way to our new room, we stumbled upon a fully functional church inside the hotel! We ended up staying in the original room since it was much larger, but the level of service and follow-up by Flavia were very impressive! Our room offers great views of Amalfi and a huge terrace. The bathroom shower is a little bit small for a room this big, but it is serviceable. We did find the ventilation in the bathroom a bit lacking. We received excellent help throughout our stay from both Michela and Flavia, and the entire restaurant staff were very friendly and professional as well. They seemed a little under staffed but its understandable as its holiday season. During winter low season, most of the restaurants are closed in Amalfi, but, lucky for us, the hotel restaurant serves up some of the best food in the city. All in all, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely use this as our home base the next time we return to Amalfi.

I stayed here with my family of four and had 2 rooms for 3 nights from December 22, 2017. The staff is helpful and friendly. The room is not too big but it is clean. The hotel has a good breakfast selection with quality food. A great place to stay in Amalfi!

We stayed here in May 2017. The weather was a bit on the chilly side but it was sunny. The hotel is very unique as its on the cliff and fairly hidden (it’s at the end of a tunnel). The views from our room were stunning. You can see Amalfi town and the pier, which are both very close, and within walking distance. The stairs to get down to town are a bit steep and can be a bit intimidating. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Breakfast wasn’t huge but it had a fair selection of fruits, pastries, cereals and juice. You are also able to order eggs any way you want. The views at breakfast were breathtaking. Pool was a bit small and it was very windy when we decided to hang out by the pool but it overlooked the water and had a beautiful backdrop. Gym was a bit lacking, it had free weights, a couple of benches and a machine you can do various exercises on. Also had a couple of cardio machines. The room was a bit on the small side but had a beautiful balcony overlooking the water

Came with my baby and Husband and had a wonderful few days here in NH. People especially Flavia was so warm and friendly, excellent breakfast, beautiful grounds and my daughter loved the Orchard area to wander around. Morning view was picture perfect. Convenient shuttle service to and fro the hotel to Amalfi town available. Will be back indefinitely.

I stayed here on a short break from a business trip. The hotel is in a beautiful location overlooking the sea and close the center of Amalfi. The restaurant is excellent. However, what was most pleasing about this hotel was the friendliness of the staff. Diego in the restaurant and Flavia at the front desk were particularly nice. I would stay here again based on this alone. I highly appreciate their service and highly recommend the hotel.

I'm on the fence about this hotel. I stayed here a while ago while on my honeymoon. Upon arrival to our room, I was very underwhelmed by the size of the room and the location of the room in the hotel. They were aware that it was our honeymoon and didn't go out of their way at all to offer us anything. Given the amount of money we had spent here, a bottle of champagne (or wine or wtv!) would have been nice. We stayed at cheaper hotels before this and they all left us a bottle on our bed with chocolates or fruit for our honeymoon but not this place. Not impressed. The hotel is stunning. The pool is stunning. The restaurant area is stunning. However, the food here is mediocre. We went out every day to eat as this place wasn't really worth it to eat at. Overall, I think I'd go back but for a short time and just because there are no other beautiful hotels like this in the area.

Lovely. It was like a dream. Service was amazing. The restaurant by the pool was amazing. Pool was amazing. Breakfast was amazing. We stayed 2 nights and 3 full days. We drove there. What a nice view. We left our car and our luggages there for a night which we went to Capri. Nice people. Nice walk from the old route to downtown. Don’t forget to have dessert in a very nice and famous pasetry shop there, l forgot the name. I didn’t want to leave the hotel during the day. Pool was amazingly quiet and clean with good service. They did upgrade our room and we had a very big balcony with an amazing view. We tried the turkish bath as well which was complimentary. Highly recommended. We stayed in Italy for2 weeks in different cities but this hotel was something else. I hope I can go back again. Thank to all the very kind staff. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
