On the exit of the motorway you'll find the Best Western. No time-loss to get there. We arrived at midnight. The receptionist was very friendly and showed us to our room. The room is simple, clean and spacious. Two single quilts on a two-matrassed bed. Bathroom is small but more than adequate. The shower is spacious and delicious. A good amount of hot water. After check-in we went to the bar which closed at midnight. We were a bit too late, but the waiter poured us a nice glass of wine and left the bar open despite him going home. Very nice after a long drive to be able to sit here. The next morning we went for breakfast. The breakfast is buffet style. Everything is at hand. All in all an excellent choice for a night stop en route
Stayed early September 2016. Hotel was clean and staff wre helpful and friendly. However, if you dont have your own transport - which we didnt- you can easliy get stuck. Had to walk into Alzey and rely on the kindness of strangers - thanks to Jusef and Willie- to get back. Hotel had no interest in the lack of transport. Sunday evening there was no retautrant open and no bar and no transoport. If you have no wheels stay in Alzey as you will be trapped in the facility free Best Western You have nbeen warned.
I find it such a shame to assign this Hotel just 2 stars. The room was clean albeit very small. The bathroom was spotless. The staff excellent. The reception staff were most helpful. There was more parking than would ever be needed. There is even a gym next door that can be used for only 5Euros. The staff at Massa's gym are fabulous. Why then the two star rating? Breakfast. The breakfast staff try their best and to be quite honest they are not to blame. The problem is the lack of staff. The choice is actually quite good. Salmon one morning was a nice treat. However, I ate my breakfast with coffee stained table clothes and dirty plates laying on the table from the previous guest every single morning. Not a pleasant experience but nonetheless for the price of this hotel tolerable. Indeed on every morning it was quite an effort to even find a free table. A free and clean table? Forget it. What I cannot tolerate is the experience on my last morning. The day before, 3 coach loads of river cruise tourists had arrived. The hotel tried to accommodate them but there were simply too many. At breakfast they were using function rooms and all kinds to feed the masses. Where could I sit? Nowhere! There were simply no free tables. I ended up having to enter THE KITCHEN MYSELF TO RETRIEVE A PLATE. I had nowhere to sit so I had to gather all the utensils myself. I felt so sorry for the poor staff who were trying their best but were obviously rushed off their feet. The real cause of this is understaffing and an inadequate breakfast room. If it had not been for this breakfast fiasco I would have given this Hotel 3 or maybe even 4 stars. But sorry, when I am forced to eat standing up in the car park my sympathy departs. I think the Hotel managers have some questions to answer. The staff are hard working and concienscious.
Very good hotel, only 5 minutes from highway A61. Good service, nice crew and fine buffet breakfast. Only 5 minutes drive from the historical center of Alzey. Nice to walk around and plenty of opportunity to have dinner or just to drink something.
We stayed at this hotel many years ago when it was called the Massa and based on its convenient location we used it again on this trip. So glad we did. Comfortable room, good dinner in the evening and excellent breakfast buffet. We will stop here again
this is a very average hotel in the middle of an industrial area and right next to the highway. noisy but clean and the staff is friendly. wouldnt go there again if i dont have to but overall the stay was ok.
We have stayed here on numerous occasions as a stopover on our route home. Meals are good, the rooms comfortable, although we were given a room (220) next to the air conditioning unit which made an annoying vibration and rumble. The reception staff promptly moved us when we complained and we had a good night prior to a long journey to Brugges.
We have stayed here a number of times and reviewed the hotel before. Always a pleasant place to stay. Very good breakfast. A very accommodating chef and excellent evening meal. In a retail area and being adjacent was very useful for stocking up on wine and gifts and lunch ingredients for our journey home.
Well, having arrived tired and irritable after a long drive from Dussedorf - stuck on the highway for 2 hours, it was nearly 3am and the road to the hotel was snowbound, the rental car just did not want to climb that last two hundred metres!! The old boy on reception was quick to get my key. Room was poor!!! Everything in my room needs updated!! Heating was unbearable!! Window open and blizzard blowing in. Day 2, had to skip breakfast. After show, returned to hotel and found its not surrounded by countryside but is surrounded by industrial units and supermarkets!! All in all, out of 5 stars, I'll give it 2
After an eventful day and discovering the Fair was in town and campsites and nearby hotels fully booked we turned up here at10pm at night to find they only had one room left. The gentleman on the desk covering night reception was brilliant, and let us park our motorbike in front of reception so he could watch it overnight, the lady behind the bar was very helpful in getting us some food as the restaurant was closed and we were starving. Very pleasant hotel with great breakfast!
