About this property
Rabbit Hole Retreat, River on Property, Adults Only, No Pets, Peace and Quiet!
Turtle Lodge is a spiritual center created to offer an inspirational and safe place for adults to slow down. We invite you to the beautiful Whitewater River Valley for a solo or group retreat or intentional time with others to renew and nourish relationships, collaborate or create. No kids, pets, guests or parties allowed to help us reach our goal for "quiet time all the time". Enjoy the peaceful ambiance and amenities of your suite and beauty of nature and the river on site.
The Rabbit Hole Suite is located on the basement level of the Turtle Lodge with a window view looking out into the yard. This cozy space is complete with a kitchenette, electric fireplace, desk and a spacious bathroom. Turtle Lodge is located in the driftless bluffs of the Whitewater River Valley, just outside of the tiny town of Elba and Whitewater State Park, with river frontage on the Whitewater River. Turtle Lodge has 3 private suites and a Gathering Room. The Gathering Room (not included with suite rental) has a wood fireplace, dining area, chairs and full kitchen, that can be rented separately for a daily rate, contact the host for pricing and availability. There is also a cabin and small campground on the property. Located in a rural area with a mix of wooded bluffs, river and farmland.
Guests are provided with an access code for contactless entry to the main lodge entrance and private suite. Parking on site. All guests have access to the covered porch at the entrance to the lodge, the reflection area along the river and the community areas in the adjacent campground (same owners). The covered porch on the lodge has rockers and a bench from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the bluffs. The reflection area is a clearing along the river that has a sweat lodge frame and firepit built by the Ojibway Native Americans. The reflection area can be used for prayer, teaching and ceremonies. Further downstream, there are spots to sit and enjoy the beautiful views and sounds of the river, and some limestone stairs to the river's edge so you take a dip in the cold spring river water. As the sun sets, cozy up to a campfire and watch as the sun makes way for a beautiful dark sky of stars. 20250208
