+ Very good location, just in front of the ski slopes, c. 70m to main gondola + you may ski directly to the hotel entrance once coming back; conveniently located ski lockers (lack of heaters / dryers for the ski boots though). + In close proximity to restaurants, bars, ski rentals, shops etc. - all within 70m tops + Tasty breakfasts with a broad selection of dishes + Splendid views on the Val Thorens region ~ It is not something you should consider as a disadvantage, but it is better to know in advance while planning your trip / stay, that this hotel is from '70/'80 with some improvements and maintanance along the way. You have all what is needed, comfy and clean room with all amenieties - it's just overall you might feel it is slightely outdated, but on the other hand have a lot of charm.
Well provided room, comfortable bed, excellent view of Plan D'Eau chairlift. Not too cramped,(Could walk around the bed) proper wardrobe with space for ski kit. Bathroom adequate size with good shower over bath. Separate WC. Breakfast was comprehensive. Would certainly return for short ski trip. Ski lockers on 10th floor are 25m from the snow! Shame no one told us about the reduced entry for the local swimming pool, but management were understanding and refunded this. Local restaurants fine if you like melted cheese.
Great ski in , ski out location. Fantastic , friendly reception staff. Returned a bag to me that I had left at the hotel. Free newspapers in reception. Great restaurants nearby but not such a wide choice of bars
Hotel good, staff on the whole good, you could tell when the manager was off-cats away mice will play-he was off for 2 days of are trip and the standard was sometimes quite poor. He made sure the details where done eg. canape's in the bar out on time (once not out 2nd time 8.00pm) staff seemed more motivated and attentive when he was working. Restaurant food/menu, all I can say stop trying to be fancy and give your customers good wholesome french cooking with a balance plate of food- I can only recommend having breakfast (very good) not the half board option you offer. I hope this review is taking in context and my critic helps you. We had a good holiday thank you
We have just come back from a weeks stay at Hotel Bruyeres. The location of this hotel is fantastic it’s right by the slopes and the main lifts. There are also shops and restaurants near the slopes and hotel. Everything is just right around the corner. There is a free bus that takes you to the different resorts which is great and just outside the hotel. It’s not as busy busy as Meribel or Val Thorens but the lifts to the 3 vallees are right outside. The hotel is wonderful the bar staff in the lounge upstairs are brilliant and hardworking. They make the best raspberry & strawberry mojito ever! However, the drinks prices were shockingly high, €7-€8 for a 120ml glass of red wine. You can go in happy hour between 17:30-18:30 but it’s only on selected drinks. The restaurant in the hotel we couldn’t praise it enough. The food was incredible- we went half board, the evening meal you get a choice of 2-3 things each night. The food is so delicious every night the chef came up with something different. The chef is a real credit to the hotel! The restaurant staff were good but spoke very little English so at times it was difficult to communicate. Breakfast was ok, nothing to rave about. There was choice but maybe not as much as you would get normally. If you go earlier it was much better than later. The fresh bread was great. However, the sliced bread was often stale. The rooms were great and have a separate space for your ski wear. However, the bathroom decor does need to be changed. The orange paint with the black tiles and little lightening in the toilet I would have thought would be a strange choice. Seemed very dark and dingey. The time the rooms were cleaned varied, sometimes we wouldn’t see them because we were skiing other times we would come back and our room still wasn’t done by lunchtime or the afternoon. We had allocated locker space which was enough for two of us. I would have thought a bigger ski room with seats etc more like a locker room, so we could put boots on etc, it was very squashed at peak times and very little room. Overall thank you Hotel les Bruyeres we had a great time.
The hotel is located 30 seconds walk from the piste, and another 30 seconds ski to the best lift in the resort (Bruyeres), it makes incredibly easy to access Val Thorens and Meribel and is very easy on the return journey. Along that walk tot he slope you'll find a few great bars, a swimming pool, the local cinema and the normal ski shops and patisseries. The rooms are comfortable, and all come with a balcony and easterly view. The bathrooms are modern and clean. They were cleaned really well each day even when some of our sking gear was left out in the open. Our party had booked half-board and the 3 course evening meals were great, with large variation in each dish and on each day. The staff were very professional and friendly throughout this. The breakfast has a something from everyone and has a great selection of foods and drinks - I never found them to have run out of a food or drink type. The evening bar is great, I recommend having a Leffe or two during the happy hour as the sun comes down - it's a great way to see out a day of sking. It's a fantastic room, and some of the other guests played some great tunes on the grand piano.
My fourth stay here in four years and have never been disappointed. The staff are a credit to the hotel and should be praised for the efficient and friendly way they handle everything. Well done. Rooms are fairly spacious and clean and bathrooms are always in nice condition and well-stocked with supplies. There was even a nice box of chocolates in the room this time as the hotel is celebrating its 30th birthday. Prices are a bit steep in the bar (9 euros for a beer, 12 for a gin and tonic) but that may be more to do with the poor exchange rate of sterling thanks to Brexit! Although we didn't use it this time, there is a nice sauna and steam room with gym equipment and pampering treatment is available too at extra cost. A great place to stay and right on the slopes so no hassle getting started in the morning!
Arrived home yesterday from a week at this hotel which we thought was very good. Fantastic location with easy access via one lift into Val Thorens and Meribel, as well as the extensive Les Menuires/St Martin area. We also preferred Les Bruyeres to La Croisette part of Les Menuires. Rooms good, (dressing gowns, slippers, chocs, fridge all nice touchs) general decor of hotel was lovely, staff friendly, views fabs and so on. Value for money for a ski hotel we thought was excellent. Our only disappointment was the food and the restaurant in general and the points I will make have been mentioned on occasion by other reviewers. Breakfast: we went to breakfast between 0845 and 0915 each day. Regularly there were items which needed topping up even on the occasions when there will still lots of people having breakfast. (We understand it to some degree if hardly anyone left). It may seem a small point but it did get frustrating. The selection of food was fine and what we would have expected. Apres Ski drinks and cake: It's a lovely idea but maybe we were too late so we were disappointed in this. The photos on TA suggest proper cakes. Either we missed these or they have downgraded their offering. We only ever saw small mouthful sized cubes of cake Evening Meal: Alot has been said about the food being excellent. It is good but it was a bit hit and miss. Some of the meals were very good, particularly the last two nights. Other times, the meat was tough, the soup bland and so on. It was usually only warm, never hot. The service was also hit and miss. Sometimes the courses came so quickly and other times we had to chase. One time we didn't get offered the amuse bouche and twice we were eating the amuse bouche and the starters were put in front of us. As these starters were only warm, not hot, we had to eat these quick and then return to the amuse bouche. These may all seem really small points about the food and the restaurant but they should be easily fixable and they are the things which stop us giving this hotel the five stars they ought to be able to easily achieve.
This is our 4th stay I never Hotel les Bruyères and had yet another great stay. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly right from the moment you walk through the door. Check in was quick and simple with everything fully explained. The rooms are adequate, very clean and fully equipped with everything you should need with further items such as irons available from reception if required. The bar is warm with a lovely atmosphere, cake and hot chocolates are served in the bar after a days skiing which is a nice touch. The food in the restaurant is very good, there is a good choice for the half board guests, Luca and his staff work very hard and are always happy to accommodate you. Previous reviews mention that the boot room doesn’t have dryers, the hotel recommend that you take your boots to your room and we bring a boot dryer with us so I don’t see it as a problem. Overall another great experience in a hotel I would highly recommend.
From moment of arrival till departure, hospitality in relaxing atmosphere. High standards in the restaurant. Great fresh food, cooked and presented in such a way that each time we entered it was the start of a small party. Off course in the heart of the Three Valley Arena, with direct access to the ski piste leaves not that much to wish for. Thanks and till next year.
