just back from a week with family of teenagers, young adults and seniors and this hotel has a lot going for it. the situation is excellent-ski to within 30 metres of entrance , ski rental shop same distance under cover walkway, as is ESF meeting place and office. there is a handy supermarket across the road as well. the hotel is clean and warm and staff just fine and helpful. food is varied and portion size for us just right. a major boon on our week was the upstairs lounge/bar where after ski nibbles and hot drinks provided as well as snacks before dinner. this very large lounge with large fire place and comfy chairs very appreciated on one day when all lifts/pistes closed, and family able to while away the afternoon with board games that the hotel provided. one or two oddities-the ski room cramped but all in all i would recommend this hotel
Just returning from a fantastic New Year holiday, as a family of 4. Booked with Crystal. Crystal managed the holiday well, given trying circumstances leading to long delays in transfer. The hotel was excellent, greeted by friendly, efficient reception staff. The rooms are compact, but the beds very comfortable, lots of hot water, and cleaning meticulous. The really asset to this hotel is the bar, dining room and excellent staff. Food was amazing every night (we ate off the one-booked, half board option). Breakfast buffet great, lots of fresh food, replenished frequently. Luca and his dining team were superb in every way.
Just back from a great week in this wonderful hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our family interconnecting rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. It was lovely having bottled water and chocolates on our arrival. Breakfasts were plentiful and lots to choose from. Dinner was exceptional and an excellent standard. Arriving back from the slopes every day to complementary drinks and cake on the large sunny terrace or cosy welcoming bar was a bonus. Will definitely return. Fantastic value and location for the 3 Valleys.
Having previously skied over ten times in the Alpes and experienced every variety of ski accommodation. After such a lovely stay at Les bruyeres I felt inclined to write a review to highlight not only the excellent work of all the staff but the impeccable standard of the hotel. The rooms are very spacious, clean, modern and very good value for what you would normally expect for most ski resorts. Having stayed at a Temnos chain hotel in Chamonix we decided to book half board as we really enjoyed the food and standard of service previously experienced. Les bruyeres did not disappoint. The breakfast was adequate serving both hot and cold food (continental style). However the evening meal was in my opinion 5* star. Me and my partner only eat chicken and fish and every evening they would ensure they would cater to our requests with exceptional dishes freshly made served beautifully. The service was excellent. All the staff ensured we were well looked after and any request was never too much. Most breakfast and evening services we would have Giovanni as our waiter, he was exceptional, a real credit to the hotel who always had a smile on his face. The hotels in Val thorens were twice the price of this hotel which is only one short chair lift away. Having stayed there twice previously you would struggle to find a hotel of this standard for anywhere near the price. Keep up the hard work we will definitely be recommending.
Stayed in 2014 and returned this season. Disappointed. - Rooms needed a 'deep clean' cobwebs, sticky mess/drinks spilt down the shelves in the wardrobe, lots of stains on the floor etc. Needing and towels changed regularly and clean though. -Waiting staff with the exception of 1 or 2 appeared miserable and they didn't want to be there, just going through the motions (end of season and can't be bothered?) Regularly got our orders wrong, didn't listen, forgot to bring things we asked for. Often there were cups and cutlery missing from our table. Had long waits in-between courses with other tables being served earlier. Made for a really poor dining experience. -Ismel was very unhelpful and rude-avoid. Giovanni made more of an effort but wasn't productive and didn't act on our complaints. -The food wasn't great. Not much if you are vegetarian. They are trying to create 'posh nosh' food but it didn't really work. Not always hot, or cooked thoroughly. We had to ask for things to be heated up on at least half a dozen occasions. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, lots to choose from. But if you came after 830am they are already staring to run things down and pack up. -We had a 17 month old baby with us and needed a high chair all week. The high chair was used twice a day and NEVER once cleaned by the staff. I would return at each meal and it would be filthy from the morning or night before. I had to go out and buy antibacterial wipes. Despite 3 requests to staff members this did not change. The food spilt by the baby on the floor would be left for several days. Disgusting. Why they weren't doing simple cleaning I do not know. -Locations is great and they have a kids club which looked good although we didn't use this.
We stayed here for a long weekend, after the hotel was recommended to us by friends, here is a short review: Pros - right next to the slopes, ski-in and ski-out - minutes from ski rental places and restaurants - ski pass available at reception - ski school right next to hotel - nice bar area Cons - rooms were very dated, terribly configured and bathrooms old and in need of a refurb - uncomfortable pillows/bed - basic breakfast, okay for the price but not amazing (come early, otherwise it's gone or the staff start packing up) - average staff, some were friendly, others were too busy sorting out the restaurant rather then looking after guests - didn't like that at check-in after asking for local restaurants, the girl at reception practically forced the hotel restaurant on us, saying there weren't any other restaurants around, when there were 3 lovely places literally next door, which we found the next day. Too hard of a sell!! - totally overpriced, one of the nights we stayed was charged at £280...that's over €300 for a 4 star?
This is a great hotel for skiing if you want to escape the concrete of Val Thorens, and the slush of Meribel. The lower prices compared to nearby resorts don't mean lower quality. In the restaurant for example the staff, ably led by Luca and Giovanni, ensure an exceptional gastronomic experience. Ski in ski out from the top floor (!) completes the experience. Well done.
Having stayed for 7 days during Feb '17 half term, I decided to award this hotel 5 stars. There were 3 of us in room, couple with child and we were on 3rd floor opposite lift. Different to what has been posted in someone else's review, we could hardly hear the lifts, the little we did hear was not enough to bother. And size was adequate. As per my title suggests, for the amount we paid, i would struggle to find a better hotel in the 3 valleys. I chose this hotel based on the good price on booking.com and reviews here and as such knew exactly what to expect and was not disappointed. If anything, I was pleasantly surprised as in my opinion; people's review don't reflect how good this hotel actually is for the price. Yes, ski room could be bigger, could have boot warmers, but it did not bother us. The pro's of this hotel far outweigh any con's. The hotel is fully ski in, with a 30 sec walk to the right or left for ski out. Right next door to ESF and the piou piou ski club, we had little trouble dropping our daughter off, and heading our way for a days skiing. Beware other ski schools are not in Bruyeres! Plenty of ski rentals next door to hotel. The bar prices were a little on the steep side but no more so than any other hotel bar, and with so many options just outside the door, this should not stop you from booking here. Also remembering free snacks (cheese, saucisson, olives, crisps, bread, nuts, etc) were served throughout the early evening, so it more than made up for those high prices. We didn't have diner or breakfast at hotel so cannot comment. For breakfast we opted to use the supermarket just outside the door and kept a few things in our fridge. Kettle in room enabled us to make tea/coffee so no issues there. In the evening we tried all restaurants in Bruyeres... and all of them were good, with similar menus but some more expensive than others. The service at this hotel needs to be called out as special. Upon my arrival, I parked my car in the bus lane - and one of the staff helped me carry all 6 bags to the room from the car!!! Actually he took all of them, as I then went to park the car in one of the many free parking spaces along the road! When we got to room, there were 3 pillows, but we like 2 pillows each, so asked for more and within mins, they arrived. The room cleaning was done every day and to perfection and in the one occasion I was still in room, we asked lady to come back in 10 mins and was no issue at all. I don't often return to same hotel twice, enjoying new experiences, but having tried many hotels in les Menuires, this is a hotel I would happily return to, due to the quality and value it represents. Thank you for an amazing week!!!!
Spent a week here half board, staff very friendly and always helpful. Food was delicious and the 3 courses were just enough for me. Rooms very clean and comfortable and all the 'bits' you need, a hairdryer, kettle and a fridge. Will definitely be going back.
This was the first time we'd stayed in Les Menuires, having previously stayed in most other parts of the Trois Vallees. Les Menuires is very well connected to the rest of the 3Vs, as well as having very good skiing locally. Also a good cross-country trail system that is groomed every day. The mountain views from our room were the best ever, and all the rooms face the mountains so I imagine all should have good views. You exit the hotel straight onto the piste, so do not have to carry your skis more than a few metres. We had half board and the food was very good and good value. Also a very good buffet breakfast. The staff are all very friendly and work hard to provide a good service. There is a large bar on the top floor with a large fireplace. Free snacks are provided every evening. Also other public spaces to relax in, with a choice of newspapers every day. Our room was compact but big enough, with a large and comfortable double bed. Lighting in the bathroom was very dim and I had to use the mirror in the bedroom to shave by. Some drawers for clothes storage would be good (although there is a lot of closet space). Bath robes and slippers were provided. There is a sauna and steam room but we didn’t use it. Also an aquacentre (swimming pool etc) very close by. Our departure time was very early (6 a.m.) but the hotel gave us a backpack stuffed with food – pastries, sandwiches, juice, water (more than we needed). We were, of course, very impressed! The hotel is good value for money and we would definitely return.
